Something not right?

Description

Parking area and trailhead/dog walking area/boat launch next to fast-flowing Yakima River. Some road noise and people coming and going to walk their dogs or use the trail, but a nice peaceful place to spend a night. Portable toilet in parking lot.

There is room for large-ish rigs to get in and out (loop through parking area) but it's not a huge place.

Note: the river is moving very swiftly here and the boat ramp leads right down to it. Might not be suitable for small children unless carefully supervised.

Latest Check-Ins

Nice area to stop for the night. There are no gates if you park at the boat launch area and no "no" signs. Pretty quiet all night, a few cars here and there driving by. Right next to the river, with picnic tables and a trail through the woods.

Report Check-In

We arrived on Saturday afternoon and got set up to spend the night only to have one of the park workers knock on our door at dusk and tell us that we had to leave before they locked the gates for the night.

Ignore the previous post! We moved after a visit from the local officer - who said we could stay the night after saying we were not supposed to be there. 🫣 Seems to be a party place for the local kids on a Friday night.
Moved to the IHOP parking lot in Ellensburg after checking out the crowded Love’s Travel truck stop.

Report Check-In

Quiet parking lot next to the Yakima River. Just a couple of other cars in the lot on a Friday night. Chose this place since all the other campsites along the Yakima Canyon were full!
2 bars of Verizon service.

Report Check-In

Signs say no overnight camping. We didn’t wanna risk it.

Report Check-In

Nice and quiet. Excellent trail for night walking.
