Description

Mountaintop BLM land. Couple of sites that are easy to get to if you have decent tires and keep your speed up while going up the mountain. A few that require high clearance 4x4 to get to.

Beautiful BLM land! Not sure what folks are talking about with it being closed/private. They must have turned down a driveway or something. Had no issue finding the BLM land or a site. I would suggest at minimum good tires and an ability to keep up your momentum to get up here. I watched a van back down the mountain last night. Some trails require high clearance 4x4 but there are sites that you can get to with just a little send. Beautiful area and totally worth the stay.

a few campsites with established fire pits

This is Arapahoe National Forest land, can camp for 14 days. Property ownership maps confirm (see pic). Google maps has this exact spot listed as "disbursed camping" Not private. Not closed.

Two entrances. First blocked by intentionally felled tree. Second entrance blocked by steel cable stretched between trees. Private property sign also posted. This is a Forest Service road, NOT BLM land.

Only 2-3 spots. There were camp fire sites at our location but it’s super tight once you get in there.

Totally BLM. ABSOLUTELY gorgeous! After you go up the long dirt road following your GPS there is one big parking lot that could fit two campers to have privacy or space from each other then there’s a separate third space a little higher up bit difficult to get level on… But there’s a trail behind the fence that takes you up on top of this overlook with the most gorgeous views! The only downfall is people have left a lot of trash most of it toilet paper trash so I’m not touching that. Please pick up your trash on the way out. Also the other downfall is that four wheelers love this road! But if you don’t mind four wheelers all day long than it’s excellent! I’m staying through the holidays. So happy to have found this spot!

Semi steep road. I wouldn't trust it when wet. Very very inconsistent Verizon coverage. like 0.5mpbs down and .01 up speed. Never found the campground in the original post description but found a nice open dirt lot to tuck in.

we drove all the way up the mountain very steep and bumpy dirt road pulling a small 20ft 5th wheel. Never found the camping area described so we had to leave. Can't recommend this since we never found any camping sites

So sweet and quiet when the OHVs go home. Awesome spot for sunsets. There’s a power-rock close by to sit on and also a fun, steep 1/2 mile hike up to the summit of Mt. Pisgah, where the views are breathtaking and you can read and sign the guest book.

Owned by BLM, dispersed camping, free. No amenities except for fire circles. Long uphill dirt road led to the sites. There are a few RV’s parked here and there. There is a lot of private property and you do go through a residential area to get there. The dirt roads can get messy so if you have a sedan like myself take it easy.

Fairly wide open site with AWESOME mountain views. Site is in a clearing on the dirt road leading up the mountain pass with a nearby fifth-wheel on the level portion of land. Most vehicles should be able to make it without much issue depending on the time of year. If you have a sedan or a subcompact I would advise you to be cautious. It's BLM land, so no facilities except for a fire pit. There's a few residential spots and small bungalows near the trail going up the hill. SUPER quiet, save for the sound of some trucks and 4 wheelers coming up the trail every now and then, but it's honestly a non-issue. The surrounding hills completely drown out the sound of I-70.
