Great spot overlooking a heavily sailed/kayaked, etc. Has 3 porta potties (pretty clean) and 4 bars of service for at&t. Stayed one night quiet, dark enough to see the stars and quiet until 9am.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Stayed one night. Cops came by and parked between the few cars that were parked there but didn’t get out or ask any of us to leave. Porta potty available.
Report Check-InChill spot. No issues currently. Got here at sunset and only a couple cars in the lot.
Report Check-InThis is a great beautiful spot. Quiet at night. There were 2 porta potties and we saw other people camping out here in their cars. The trail close by is really nice too.
Report Check-InGreat place to post up for a day or two. Several other overnighters.
Report Check-InGreat spot with plenty of room to park and fellow boondockers. Was woken up at daybreak from what we assumed were bird hunters in very close range of us. Wasn’t much of a concern but thought it might be helpful for someone who might be alarmed by gunshots early in the morning. If we pass through here and needed a place to rest, we’d stay again.
Report Check-InVery quiet when we came in at night. Lots of camper vans parked, so I felt pretty safe. Will definitely come back around to this place whenever I’m in Burlington again.
Report Check-InLarge gravel parking lot; was very quiet Sunday night besides the occasional traffic going by, and wasn't disturbed at all.
Report Check-InNice quiet parking lot at lake Champlain. Really nice view in the morning. Some other vans. Police checked the place in the morning, but didn't say anything.
Report Check-InThis is a sweet lil area. Road noise overpowered by the songs of nature. Will update in the morning if I have anything notable to report.
Report Check-InLook at the previous salty comment. The dude with bedsheets on his open doors was super chill and just wanted to have some fresh air during summer.
The last comment was probably made by a salty boomer who don't understand the vibe of wild camping.
The police is coming like twice a day (night and morning) and just made a loop to verify and didn't even got of the car.
super chill and quiet place outside Burlington.
Report Check-InI spent two nights here without a problem.
***However, there was a trashy couple in a minivan with bedsheets spread over their sliding doors. You know the type... Stealth has no meaning to them.
Anyway, they got the attention that they were asking for as a cop drove over to talk to them.
As soon as I saw cops entering the driveway, it was my cue to leave. I drove a somewhat stealthy pickup, no bed sheets hanging from doors.
As always, stay vigilant folks. It's the morons that ruin things for anyone.
Report Check-InThe 11’ bridge is if you are coming from the North. As someone already mentioned below, if you are coming from the south, you’ll see signs indicating it is ahead, but you can access the boat ramp without going under the bridge.
Very busy area but it still has a peaceful ambiance and was a lovely spot for a night! Beautiful sunset and sunrise. 4 Vans/RV’s and a few car campers were all here but everyone was respectful.
3 bars Verizon LTE, signal was great
Report Check-InNice place for the evening. got there about 4ish.
enjoyed the views of the bay. two other bands showed up for the evening. we had no problems what do ever. I wouldn't attempt a tow behind here or larger rig. height restriction of 11ft coming in.
Enjoyed this lovely spot by the water. Backed up nicely in the corner and was able to watch a beautiful sunset over the water. A few other vehicles were parked overnight, felt super safe.
There were portapotties there, but some of the rankest I’ve seen.
Great peaceful place! Sleeping near lake with the sound of frogs!
Superbe place tranquille près du boisé et du lac. S’endormir au son des grenouilles ajoute au charme des lieux.
Report Check-InNice and quiet place to stay for the night ... the state park in Vermont open in may ! Trail by the lake.
Report Check-InNice quiet spot next to the lake. Plenty of parking available and feels very safe at night. There are three port-a-potties on site and those seemed fairly clean as well. I have AT&T and had good service.
Over all, highly recommended as a place to stay!
Oh, and there are nice trails surrounding it for hikes/runs!
Report Check-InGreat for one night. We had a couple neighbours but fairly quiet overall. A few cars pulled in in the morning to walk their dog/hike nearby.
Report Check-InReally beautiful and peaceful spot! Large gravel lot with plenty of parking. Right on the water and a beautiful sunset. Porta potties available. Spent a quiet night here with two other vans.
Report Check-InGreat spot. Some road noise during the day, very little at night. Followed the tip from the other review about taking Harbor instead of Bay to avoid the low clearance bridge, much appreciated. I would add that when you go that way you do eventually turn on Bay from Harbor, and it still shows signs for 11’ clearance, but you turn into the parking lot at the boat ramp before you get to it, so it’s not an issue from this direction.
Report Check-Ina nice good size gravel lot. Busy, but tapering off now at 730pm on Sunday. Plenty of Mosquitos. So if your feeling weighed down by all that blood they can help lighten your load. PNW Mosquitos leave me alone. But the NE ones really love me. I hate them all equally.
Report Check-InThe view is really pretty! It was surprisingly busy even on a Wednesday evening but during the night time is was peaceful. We had service which was nice for a change. Only like 20 minutes from Burlington. Would definitely go back if we were in the area!
Report Check-InShelburne Bay boat ramp, about 15 minutes south of Burlington, VT. Not much free, open land to boondock around here, but there are lots of boat ramps. This one was not listed on any apps or websites, except iOverlander....which is one of my go to apps when I need a sneaky spot. The Lone review was just posted a couple weeks ago...as such now that the day use folks and boaters left, I have the whole place to myself, as it seems not many know about it. I pretty much right on the water and have a great view of Shelbourne Bay and the boat lights still cruising around. Very big wide open and level lot. Internet/data very fast. Vzw is 30 mbps down/3 up, ATT is 39 mbps down/3 up. 17 OTA TV stations come in. one last thing....if coming in from the North, GPS will tell you to turn down Bay Rd.....thats going to be a no go for most....there is a low bridge with only 11' clearance. Keep going about 2 more miles and take Harbor Road in.....you'll have no issues.
