Description

this is a great spot, one of many here.
we got our 24 ft rv here no issues and had so much space, hence why I'm adding it. it's one of the more private spots, especially if you have pets !
pros: such a gorgeous area. we stayed for 7 days here. there's wild eagles and hawks, lesser squirrels, so many birds that we saw everyday here! the water is great and super refreshing to dip in.
cons: during the weekend so many locals, with their boats. there were quite a few off leash dogs as well with owners that don't care. the spots further down that are the closest to the beach are not as good, a lot of people come here for day use and we saw cars just parking in people's camp spots.
overall we loved it! we'd definitely be back.
also amazing reception. had almost full bars and really enjoyed having internet, and being able to work.

This is an amazing spot!! We were looking for a nice spot on our way to Glacier and this exceeded expectations. We only stayed for a day but would have stayed longer had we not had plans.

From this spot it is less than a 5 minute walk to the nice pit toilet and beach area and it is a pretty sizable spot. Getting into the spot was a little bumpy as the road to here is not as well maintained but if you can get through that then it is totally worth it. There are a couple spots here so don’t expect 100% seclusion but it is still quite private.

When we arrived late on 7/3/23 most spots were taken I assume because of the holiday so be aware it is busy for being a dispersed spot.

10/10 absolutely recommend!

stayed here for about 10 days . river was a nice spot to cool off and go for a swim during the heat wave. a lot of mosquitoes and wasps. a lot people do bring their dogs who are off leash and they go on your campsites and they will pee on your stuff . just watch out for that.

Epic river spot. Sites start off in the woods and then get bigger and have easier river access the further you go. Laid back people around, pit toilet on site towards the river end of the road. Highly recommended

Such an amazing, free area to camp in the Lolo National Forest along the banks of the Clark Fork River. Stayed for four nights and never want to leave. This site was huge and offered total privacy from the road. Very clean portapotty and pit toilet available. Good cell service on ATT. No garbage, so pack it all out. Road in is one of the best dirt roads we've seen and any size vehicle can fit here. Can stay for 16 days! We tried using GPS to get to the other pins along this road, but ended up a bit confused. You want to be on the lookout for the NF sign that says "Peninsula" and turn down that road. It loops back around along the river.

Beautiful spot overlooking the river, small private sandy beach down on the river bank, plenty of space between other sites...FREE

One of the best spots, if not the best spot we've ever stayed at. Free. Beautiful site on the river. Quiet. Good Verizon signal. Great place to bring your dog. Saw a deer across the water at sunset.

0ff Peninsula Access Rd. From Hwy 136- narrow road to camp site for smaller vehicles. Many spots to chose from along this road. Feels secluded and is shady, level, has a breeze and beautiful views overlooking the Clark Fork River. An easy trail down the bank to the river to take a dip and occasional entertainment with boats, paddle boards and kayaks floating by. Came for a night, stayed two because it was an ideal spot to escape the heat!
