Description

*Overnight camping/parking is NOT available at this location. Obey all signage.
.....
Large, paved, beachside parking area right off of HWY 101. Marked with a brown sign. A DREAM SPOT!
This flat parking area has space for 15-20+ vans and cars to park.
The view of the beach and lighthouse is breathtaking! Fall asleep and wake up to the ocean!
There is a little noise from HWY 101, but it's minimal and drowned out by the waves.
It does have a "no overnight parking" sign. But it is old, beat up and covered in stickers. I feel like the van life / car camping community has just taken it over, and now is an official overnight spot. No one came by to check and there were 12 vans/cars here when we rolled in.

No bathrooms but there are two state beach areas close by with facilities.

2-3 bars of Xfinity service.
1-2 bars of ATT.
2-3 bars of Verizon.
3 bars T-Mobile.

Latest Check-Ins

New signage up stating no overnight parking.

Report Check-In

Great spot. only 1 other truck camper while we were there. peaceful, ocean wave noise drowns out the little traffic noise. morning walk on the beach is always nice.
The only downside is we had 1 spotty bar of service with Google Fi, but we didn't mind.

Report Check-In

Easy and quiet. AT&T service was so good I could watch Netflix overlooking the ocean

Report Check-In

Haven’t slept at this location, but have spent 5ish nights at the spot on the cliffs just north of this one. We have stayed in this lot during the day, and I would be fine staying at night. There are a few people currently living in the bushes on either side of the lot, to be aware of. We prefer the spot 30 seconds north.

Report Check-In

Got in around 11. Quiet and just as described. No disruptions. The sound of waves put me right to sleep. No bathrooms. Had signal for T-Mobile.

Report Check-In

There are new laminated “no camping” signs posted on wooden posts that apparently go into effect on July 30, although the wording is confusing. We stayed one night with no issues. Safe and peaceful.

Report Check-In

Seems to be one of the last spots you can stay on the coastline in this area! Little sign says you can’t, no tickets on our windshield says you can! We slept here with several other rigs and had no issues. If you know somewhere else close to stay let me know! @projectsoulquest

Report Check-In

As travellers from the UK who aren’t completely confident re the rules on free camping in the US, we were a bit hesitant about stopping over at this place. We went anyway to check it out and, yes, there is a sign stating “no overnight stays” but there are clearly permanent/longer-term residents here and the sign is small and high-up. We got there at about 5:30pm and two other campers turned up later in the evening, so in total there were 8 of us parked there overnight. No problems at all and the view was stunning. We were so, so glad that we stayed here

Report Check-In

pulled in to park for the night, but no other vanlifers were parked and there is one small sign that states:
“THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITES ARE PROHIBITED ON STATE HIGHWAY RIGHT OF WAY:
• LIGHTING FIRES
• LITTERING
• CAMPING OR STAYING OVERNIGHT
• ERECTING A BUILDING. FACILITY, TENT OR SHELTER OF ANY KIND
VIOLATIONS MAY SUBJECT THE VIOLATING PARTY TO A CITATION FOR CRIMINAL TRESPASS.”

you could plea ignorance, since the sign is small and high up, and we doubt anyone would have any issues with staying the night, but we chose not to risk it.

Report Check-In

Great spot with an amazing view of the beach. 5 rigs here right now, definitely a rare find on the West Coast!

Report Check-In

Gorgeous view, some permanent residents, and one other camper.
Cop pulled up around 4am and went inside one of the trailers for about an hour? Then left. Early mornin cuddle? Lol

Report Check-In

Rolled in around 6pm. There where already a few other campers. Quiet night, no problems, beautiful view.

Report Check-In

This place is permanently closed.

Report Check-In

Sadly there are now “No Camping” signs all over this parking area.

Report Check-In

Stayed here two nights and never had a problem. Fell asleep watching the ocean and listening to the waves, absolutely beautiful. There were a handful of others here both nights, but not packed. No bathrooms on site, but there's a day use area at Beverly Beach State Park that has bathrooms open all night if necessary. It is about an 8 minute drive up the coast. We were parked level both nights. The second night was very windy, but still loved it here.

Report Check-In

Beautiful spot to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. Other campers came and went but nobody bothered us.

Report Check-In

Didn’t see any signs cause it was packed! Arrived here around 6pm and got one of the last spots, although I think a few might have left late night. Great waking up and walking down to the beach!

Report Check-In

As everyone below has mentioned, a gem of a place. Friendly people… must have been about 15 vans, schoolies and car campers in here with me. Get here early as it fills up but people were moving over for late arrivals. No garbage to be seen, so keep it that way.

Report Check-In

Cool spot filled with friendly van-lifers. 3 bar Verizon on the beach. Nice beach too when the weather cooperates (can be very windy and cold). I think the van-life community has collectively decided to ignore the large and clearly visible sign that says that camping and staying overnight is considered criminal trespass. :)

Report Check-In

Can’t beat these types of pull outs on the Oregon Coast. Always going to have fellow travelers here which provides extra safety along with some community. Small bluffs on each end of the lot overlooking the beach and ocean below. Easily 15 rigs here this morning.

Report Check-In

Overnighted with about a dozen+ other vans and cars. Steep walk to secluded beach, but beautiful Pacific overlook to wake up to. Close to road noise, but had no problem sleeping. 2-3 bars Verizon service is better than most coastal pullouts in area.

Report Check-In

Space for at least 12 vans, got pretty full by about 7pm. One small sign saying 'no camping'. The noise of the highway is pleasantly drowned out by the sea!

Report Check-In

AWESOME SPOT! met some great people, shared some good stories. great service (verizon) 2 bars LTE, got through a zoom meeting no issues though. Fire pit on beach just below the lot. TONS OF VANLIFERS AND CAR DWELLERS. clean, the community here has done a great job at leaving no trace. TRY THIS SPOT OUT WHILE YOU CAN! come early in the day to get a spot too. felt incredibly safe being a solo car dweller, would sleep here again if given the chance. right off the highway but it’s completely washed out by the beautiful ocean below. great views, everything about this spot is amazing.

Report Check-In

Flat and space for many cars, vans and RVs. Overlooks the beach area and has one safe path and several not-so-safe paths down. Excellent views and over the breaks to the horizon. No Overnight signage is ignored. Four others stayed through with me. Nice spot.

Report Check-In

Great spot! Stayed here for one night. Arrived around 8:00pm and the lot was almost full. Presumably some people left after watching the sunset, but I didn’t check. There were about 8-10 other camper vans who stayed overnight as well. There’s enough separation from the highway that highway traffic isn’t very noticeable. I didn’t see any “no overnight parking” signs in this lot.

Report Check-In

Gorgeous view. Quiet. Right off the 101.

Report Check-In

Stayed here last night with about 10 other vans, motor homes and trucks. The view was amazing in the morning.

Report Check-In

FABULOUS spot! Spent 2 undisturbed nights & a full day here. Far enough off the road, traffic isn’t too noticeable.

Report Check-In

This place was amazing. Gorgeous sunset and I slept like a baby. Highway got quiet like around 10 and I drifted off to the soothing sound of ocean waves. Did get full though, so get there a little early.

Report Check-In

Stayed here from 630pm to 2pm the following day and no knock. It was so peaceful with our van door open in the spot farthest to the right

Report Check-In

Good dependable spot. Seams many people adventure during the day and return at night (as we did). Three nights we stayed has about 15 rigs of all sorts. Reasonably level, okay beach access (follow trail to the S. avoid the sketchy straight down one) 3 bars Verizon at 17 download and 21 upload.

Report Check-In

this was such an amazing spot. right by the beach. I got there late and there was one spot left and people moved to make room for me. neighbors were insanely sweet and made me feel right at home. beach access and an unofficial pee spot. the waves drown out the road noise very well. Will be back again.

Report Check-In

Oh oh oh how I love love love this place!!

Report Check-In

Beautiful view! We enjoyed sunset on the beach (access on south/left side, steep (I wore hiking boots)). Huge potholes at north entrance. Busy Saturday night in June, parked side by side. Noise from Hwy 101 dies down. Good for an overnight.

Report Check-In

Very nice pullout, separated from the road. You can hear the noise of the cars, but can't see them! The view is amazing, direct access to the beach. Very good t-mobile service and level parking.

Report Check-In

This place was absolutely amazing! Probably the best spot we’ve camped in a while. Felt safe and saw 3 other rigs. It was by the highway but really isn’t a bother. Highly recommend 👍🏼

Report Check-In

Didn't stay overnight but there were so many vans and things obviously staying that I'm coming back! Great place for a simple walk on the beach or a longer linger :)

Report Check-In

Top spot. Very quiet. You can walk down to the beach which is beautiful and rugged. Great spot for the night!

Report Check-In

Dream spot is right. Stayed 2 nights. Clean up after yourself! Keep it nice for everyone else :)

Report Check-In

Great spot! Very clean even with numerous other vehicles in the spot. Decent sized pull outs. Might get lucky in a larger rig if there aren’t many others. There were quite a few vans/cars here for both nights we stayed. You can scramble down to the beach or enjoy the views from up top

Report Check-In

Great spot by the water. Away from the highway. I spent the night with a few other rigs and felt really safe. Keep it clean!

Report Check-In

Really is a gem of a spot! The pullout a little bit south of here has a "no overnight" sign, so hopefully this one stays open. Six other rigs here last night. Lots of people stopping for the view. No amenities (take your garbage with ya). Steady two bars of LTE with ATT. Free!

Report Check-In

beautiful pullout, no hassles. about 7 other vehicles here

Report Check-In

Finally, I got to experience my dream of parking overnight on the Pacific coast and sleep to the roar of the ocean.

Report Check-In

Very quiet, perfect place to pull over for the night.

Report Check-In

parking lot with a great view and easy access to the beach.

Report Check-In

As advertised. We are here in the off-season and had only three neighbors. Everyone was quiet and respectful. The view of the ocean and the ocean sounds are priceless. Let's keep this spot clean and available for everyone!

Report Check-In

Stayed here for two nights.. great spot!

Report Check-In

The van-life/boondock community has definitely taken this over, and they don’t take too kindly to riffraff round’ these’ parts’ lol. The place is VERY clean, which is why I say the riffraff must’ve been chased out. Pulled in just after sunset at 7 with 2 other cars, and was later greeted with 4 other vehicles by 10 PM.

Way to go Overlander community! Keeping apples like this clean and safe is what will keep the doctors and police and locals away. Let’s hope it stays like this for many years to come.

Report Check-In

Perfect spot for the night. 10 other vans and rvs camped overnight. Beautiful views. Felt 100% safe. 3 bars LTE with AT&T.

Report Check-In

Spend two wonderful days here. Make sure to walk the beach south to check out the arch in the beach. Will upload a picture. It’s about 15 minutes to walk.

Report Check-In

Stayed here one night, incredible sunset and amazing to fall asleep to the waves, a few cars passing by on the road but it wasnt too bad. It quieted down. About 15 other vans, truck campers, a couple motorhomes and a bus stayed here too. A very old sign with so many stickers on it that says no overnight parking, but its old and rusted and hardly can even read it.

Report Check-In

Amazing spot. unfortunately some people are leaving their trash on the floor all over. Please do not leave your rubbish around.

Report Check-In

Stayed here one night with at least 7 other campers… really awesome little community spot. A little noisy last night as one car did pull in and created a lot of noise, but, otherwise amazing spot. Please be sure to clean up all your trash. I saw on another post about trash… this area does not have trash cans/bathroom… so please remember to leave no trace!

Report Check-In

This place is legit! Great views, felt safe, solid community. Stayed here for one night in our van and there were at least another 10 vans here. Yay for van lifers taking over!

Report Check-In

Nice large viewpoint type area off the side of the road. Room for 8-10 vans. There were four others here with us.. light road noise untill late. then the occasional truck. You can see and hear the ocean. 3 bars of Verizon.

Report Check-In

This is an awesome spot to stay. Minimal noise and lots of other people every night. There were several vans and cars that stayed the night. I stayed 3 nights no issue. Nice to walk down to the beach. Few people on the beach so dogs can have plenty of room to run.

Report Check-In

Love it here. Tons of vans and cars. Feels very safe, friendly. Beautiful scenery, nice path to the beach.

Report Check-In

Sweet spot. Had a beautiful overlook of the ocean, we had lots of neighbors (vans, trailers, etc) but no trouble. Some road noise but not bad.

Report Check-In

Can confirm. Many vehicles here overnight. I stayed two nights and was not bothered.

One downside is the wind is very strong. There's a coating of sand, salt and silt on every surface.

Report Check-In

We loved this spot! Beautiful views of the ocean. Full of van lifers and small RVs each night. We ended up staying here for 3 nights because it was so fun and easy. Very close to Newport & Walmart. It’s a must to do otter crest loop and visit nearby scenic views. We would explore during the day and come back here to sleep. Beach is beautiful and not crowded at all.

There is a no overnight parking sign that is super old as described by OP. People truly were here each night and no bother. I think it has turned into an overnight parking allowed area.
