Description

Turn off on the right between the "Subway hikers need a permit" sign and the actual pull-off with a bigger info sign. There are probably 15 sites off this rutted dirt road (did it in AWD Forester no problem), but most are crowded together in one main area. pull your car up to side the of the river, find a fire ring, you're good to go.

There are 2-4 other more secluded spots. one on the way to the larger area. If you turn to the right (south) of the larger area and follow the road, there's an incredible little site RIGHT on the river within the trees. Farther back, the road ends at a larger site off the river a bit.

GPS and pictures are from the smaller secluded site in the trees. plenty of space for 2-3 tents, not great for hammocking though, unless you have long straps. plenty of hammocking spots in the larger area.

very good place to spend a night! Just next to Zion !

Report Check-In

Great spot. Quiet. Took a walk on the road in the morning and cows were just roaming freely.

We’ve loved this spot. There hasn’t been anyone else here the couple nights we’ve been here, but I can tell it’s heavily used during busier seasons. Great Verizon signal. Pick up your trash and stop building fire pits, there’s like 40 down here.

Report Check-In

Lots of fire pits in a sandy, tree-filled area by the creek. Easy turn off to miss, pull off on the second dirt area after the “subway permit” information sign. A little muddy on some areas of the road but easy.

Beautiful camp spot right on the river with sand to lounge in. Came for 1 night and loved it so much we ended up staying 3. Keep this place clean!!

Nice place down by the river. several sites. AT&T works great. Campers and class C motorhomes were down by river. I stayed with truck and RPod. quiet.

Okay place. Not so much water in the river but even more bugs. There is some road noise as well. But a good starting point to enter Zion in the morning.

Great site about 30 mins from Zion. Most spots were easy to get to in our camper van. Quiet and good for stargazing. Lots of bugs.

Great place to find. AT&T had 3 bars.
Little rough with ProMaster Van but durable. Nice trees by the river.

Beautiful spot next to the river. Many spaces and many ring fire. Very quiet. No sure a big rv can make it to there

What a great place, plenty of space, perfect for a short night before an early morning out to Zion. any size rig is doable here. Enjoy!

Lots of other cars, tent campers, RVs, and vans parked “down by the river.” I recommend this place but I recommend getting there at a decent time to get a good spot. Unless you’re out of there in the morning, it was tough to find a place with shade from the morning sun. First night we stayed we left because the sun got too hot and the second night we stayed here we woke up at 530am to catch the early bus at Zion. All-in-all, this place is beautiful and worth the stop. 14 day limit on camping which is nice and the creek was running smoothly even here at the end of summer. AT&T service was 2+ bars LTE.

3-4 bars service and even better data. Instagram would load easily but my messages would send slowly. no facilities, town of Virgin is minimal, but La Verkin has the basics under 15 mins away!
