Very quiet place, we feel very safe, there is no better location in Washington DC, although there is a parking meter on site for payment, we arrived on Friday night, and we even woke up early on Saturday to pay, but the guard informed us that it was free for RV, I didn't understand if it is always or because it was Saturday, but in the end we spent the whole day strolling through the region, and we only went out at night. recommend the location. really cool to be able to see the Washington monument as I was dozing :) There are no parking signs from 1am-5am in most locations along the street. I did talk with a officer yesterday evening about parking/sleeping along the street overnight; He said it should be okay and if anything I might get knocked to see why I'm here( which never happen, actually slept like a baby 👶 😉) downside is no close by restroom overnight.
Report Check-InThey now have signage, at least on Jefferson Street, that says no parking from 1 AM to 5 AM. I didn’t see the signs until this morning so I parked here last night and luckily didn’t get towed or didn’t get a ticket, but it does say they’ll tow you theoretically. 😢
Report Check-InI stayed on Jefferson Street overnight and a capital police officer even suggested I parked there. you can park overnight without paying but you will need to pay for parking during the day. the cost isn't terrible though, comparable to the cost of a campground, and you can pay via phone app. police patrol the area and it's quiet at night so it's a pretty safe, but it does get crowded during the day. prime location too.
Report Check-InThis place aint free at all. There are parkmeters everywhere around the whole area with 3h max. Please update !
Report Check-Infree parking only cleaning Monday morning, front of Josephine Butler Parks center, and close to the park with restrooms.
really good place
Report Check-InGood place to sleep overnight in Washington. Park at East Potomac park during the day as you can only stay for 3hrs here. You can park for free after 8pm - no issues over night.
