We spent the night here in our tent after visiting the ruins and cenotes. The local restaurant suggested this place and said it was ok to spend the night.
A few locals came over to say hello, there were some football games going on in the small field so quite busy but all very tame.
No issues, we had a quiet (hot) night, would work for large vehicles, too I think
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We parked in the far corner of the huge grassy field, being the unused part of the Deportivo.
Within 30 minutes the local police came and stated that camping wasn’t allowed anywhere in the Campo Deportivo. They indicated that the only place where overnight stay is allowed is just opposite restaurante La Pyramide, here is public parking allowed and to be clear this place is much better than the Deportivo field with crazy much mosquitoes
Big sport field. We came here after the security guard in Cobá told us we couldn’t stay in the parking of the ruins for the night. He recommended to go here instead. Teen soccer players during the afternoon, but nobody came after 6 PM. Super calm. Felt very secure. Big rig friendly.
Report Check-InGood place to stay for a night, not very scenic besides a huge sport field. No traffic in the night, therefore quiet. We felt safe and had no issues.
Report Check-InNice field with lots of space. As a solo traveler with bike I felt safe. The local police came to check on me at 11 pm, but they were kind, asked me if I was ok, told me it was no problem to spend the night here. They don’t tolerate vandalism and took a picture of my tent. The light from the sport field is on all night. So handy if you arrive late and want to set up, but keep it in mind if you need the dark to sleep.
Report Check-InA very safe place, residents come to the fenced field until 9 pm to play sports, and after that it's quiet. I am alone woman on the biycle and felt very safe.
Report Check-InGreat spot just at the entrance of Coba. It is super quiet and perfect for a night before visiting the ruins. We were at the ruins at 7h45 before all the tourists !
Lots of friendly dogs around :)
I tried to ask about camping next to the lake, but no luck on one side and the other had mean dogs. So I came here with my bicycle to the woods and pitched up inside. Pretty peaceful.
