Description

This is a large compacted dirt lot advertised as primitive camping within the park (although there are no signs located here indicating so). There are lots of other areas throughout the park to camp, but it is indicated on the map. I got confirmation from staff at the Visitor's Center as I needed someplace more accessible (I have a 2WD campervan; most other areas in the park need 4WD due to the sand.) No amenities. It's mostly a trailhead for hiking; we saw about a dozen people total Wednesday & Thursday in late February.

Another nice night, great place. People are pooping between the south bushes so be careful. PIPO (Pack in pack out which includes poop or bury it)

We needed a place to park our camper van for the night and this place looked like a good fit for a two-wheel drive vehicle. there are a couple of other campers here, but there is tons of empty space and it is very quiet. We are actually parked in an area that seems to have been paved at one time. There is a weak but usable Verizon signal here.

Large, fairly level gravel/dirt lot. Staff at the nearby, paid Tamarisk Grove Campground advised me to try this spot. Great stargazing. Will camp here again!

very quite, dark, big lot, nice walking trail, we are alone

This is an established dispersed camping spot at Yaqui Pass in Anza Borrego State Park. It's basically a big, slanted parking lot just above the highway.

No amenities. There's a short hike nearby (the Bill Kenyon Overlook trail).

This is an excellent place to go to if it's raining, as it's one of the few camping locations that's not in a wash.

There's enough Verizon service for me to stream radio, but only on one side of the parking lot, go figure.
