Description

* the end of the road is now washed out. there is a 12 inch difference between the jagged paved road and the deep loose sand.

Going north out of Blanding, the second road to the left just past the reservoir. Open, reasonably flat, some fire rings, next to water. Unreliable Verizon. It's okay, nice to have water nearby. There is some traffic noise but quiet at night. Across the reservoir are several big rigs. On this side, big rigs may have trouble. The access road is the old highway and is higher than the surrounding. Free. We saw one picnic table and one portable toilet.

A short swimming distance from the north shore there's a rock that's fun to climb on to and jump off into the water 😀

not possible with 2wd low clearance vehicle.
I went down this road with the plans to camp a few nights in my van. the end of the paved road just drops off. there is literally a 12 inch difference between the rough paved end and the sand dirt below it. the paved road is to slanted to just park it there so this is not an option for any low or 2wd vehicle. even if you made it down you would likely rip your tires to shreds trying to get back up. the boat ramp area on the other side is amazing and where I ended up for the night.

Spent two nights here on the North Side. Some areas need more capable vehicle to access. Nobody around so I was able to park my 24ft motor home on a prime spot right off the pavement. A lot of the areas were pretty unlevel, but this was good. Even a dumpster and an outhouse nearby (didn't inspect). Absolutely no ATT signal down here. Otherwise nice.

we stayed one night. we arrived after dark but it was still easy to find a spot by the water. we were the only ones there. we heard the occasional truck from the highway but overall it was quiet.

We stayed on the north side of the reservoir and had a very pleasant stay. The paved road down to the water ends in a permanent barricade with a dumpster in front of it, but you can pull around it and it appeared to us that camping was allowed. There was a port-a-potty set up just down the dirt road. We picked one of the first spots right by the water and had no trouble accessing with our 170" Sprinter. Spot was fairly level and had a fire pit. We checked out the south side as well, where we saw a big rig parked across from us the night before. We only got as far as the pit toilets before deciding we didn't want to take the van any further down the road. Some other reviews have said that the south side is big rig friendly, so maybe we're just weenies :)

Very nice, spread out spots around and overlooking the reservoir. Some noise from the nearby roads but an otherwise great spot!

Many spots on south side of reservoir some with fire rings, not many people, generally very quiet in the evening.

Beautiful spot by the lake 🤘
We spent the night here with a 30' motorhome with ease.
There's room for many campers all around the lake. The water is clean and even has a cool rock that you can jump off.
We loved it.
