Description

Park entrance. Rangers were agree for we
park here overnight. They sleep in a house here. It was the first time a RV comes here ! :-) ( edit : toilet, shower, water, electricity) Only big and quiet place for sleeping with a lot of monkeys all around. Super easy dirt road for 15 min. Don't miss this little road, between Liberia and Bagaces, just near Pijije (there isn't any sign). After few kms, at the cross, take left.
This area is only for people who like lost land in the world.

Very nice welcome from the ranger, this park is atypical, not very well maintain bit it is free park with shower and wc. you can park with your vehicule in front of the ranger office.

here the dry tropical forest is nice, with many animals, we saw howler monkeys, capucin monkeys, iguana, and other strange animal.

there is also a 3km hike through the forest to a waterfall

good free spot to stop after the border crossing

The place is a bit of a mess at the moment, because they are rebuilding. The toilets and shower are very dirty, and the only flat spot for the tent is next to the road. The first cars and motors start passing by around 4.30 am. But it’s nice you can camp here for free and get to the park very early. We did a little night tour our selves and saw an opossum, a tarantula and a racoon. This morning a deer walked nearby. It is nice waking up in the jungle.

A gem in the CR parks world. This tiny park is unknown and away from the tutists crowds. The walk to the small waterfall is nice and easy and packed with wild animals. Monkeys everywhere around. All of this for free. Donation to the rangers is still a nice thing to do.

It’s a nice place for a stay. Rangers are friendly. There’s a Coati that roams around the parking lot. Camp down the path to the river, you won’t hear the vehicles on the main road.
The toilets and shower were dirty. We paid 5.000 for 2pax.

Awesome spot! Totally free. Nice little parking lot with power, water, toilets and shower. The rangers are super nice and done speak English. A few trails to small waterfall and river. Totally quiet. No dogs but they didn't mind us leaving ours leashed to the van

Asked the rangers who sleep there to stay. Gave them a few beers and 5000c. They let us use their showers and bathrooms. All in all very worth it to drive the 7km off the Panamericana to have a great stay.
