Beautiful spot to overnight with view over the big lake.
There were a couple of fishermen that showed us their catch of the day.
The spot is outside the boom gate for the power station but we went in to the main building and asked for permission. It is maybe not necessary but this way they are aware of your presence.
For the actual spot turn left in front of the gate and follow the track for 1.5km. There is a small track on the right hand side that leads you through to the lake.
We came from Mulungushi dam. The road was already dried up but was quite bumpy. It is worth it though since you see a lot of tiny authentic villages and can buy tomatoes from locals that still live like 100 years ago.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Beautiful grassy place. And a lot of space to stay. Maybe after heavy rain a little difficult. Also for big rig no problem. Same very friendly peoples around.
Report Check-InWe came to the same place - actually, we were directed there by a very friendly guard at the entrance to the power station, when we mentioned that we were looking for a place to stay overnight, and he directly pointed out this place at the water (he called it "nice picknick area"), super friendly. Very quiet place and impressive misty sunrise in the morning.
