Guatemala
What a great place to take your cat or dog. English speaking vets that took great care of our stray kitten. They provide vaccinations, flea treatment, de-worming, and sell high-end, imported food for both cats and dogs. 815Q for the full treatment including a bag of dry food. Perhaps not the cheapest vet in the country, but a very professional service.

Awful, awful, AWFUL experience at this vet. Came here on the previous recommendations but would recommend everyone avoid this place after our experience. The manager is a bully. He was rude, patronising and near shouted at us that every piece of advice we’d been given from a previous (and lovely) vet was wrong. He charged us 800 quetzales for an x ray and we were told it would be emailed to us. Three days later, no email. We really needed them for an appointment with a physio so we dropped in before leaving. We were told they would be emailed in 20 minutes. One hour later, no x rays. We dropped in again (after missing and rescheduling our appointment) and were eventually provided with 3 of the 12 x rays images they had taken. These 3 showed nothing and they refused to send us the remaining images, stating only 3 were included. They obviously failed to mention this at the time or in any previous conversations and clearly had no intention of providing any x rays at all without our repeated visits. They do not have your pet’s best interests. One word - AVOID.
Report Check-InReally nice and friendly vet. Helped us with the blood test and vaccine for our dog.

Health certificates are expensive in Guatemala (450Q just in government taxes), so total cost 650/700Q. Previously We travelled to El Salvador - Guatemala and back and then Honduras and Guatemala and back, without any health Certificates. But we didn’t want to risk it for Guatemala to Mexico.
