From main road, turn at blue sign, ‘La Chicharón onto dirt road. Keep ocean to your right. Turn right at the orange crate. Air down if you haven’t already. We left a nice fire pit. Great views but extremely dusty and windy. Be careful of high tides if beach walking. It comes in quickly and can prevent returning on the beach. Have fun!

Report Check-In

Nice spot, very windy, hard to get to, no cell, no amenities.

Loved this remote spot, takes about 15-20 minutes to get here from route 1. We spent 3 nights there and saw nobody for 48 hours. The first night two ranchers drove by and said hello real quick. We took what was basically the 2nd slight road to the left. You will see a small shed like building on the coast. Ideal campsite is about 500 meters North of the building.

Report Check-In

Nice spot with access to the beach. At low tide you can walk for miles in either direction.

Attempted to make it out here but got stuck in deep, fine sand in middle of the arroyo for over two hours as a storm was brewing. Not a place you want to be stuck.

Got most the way out when a friendly local rancher and his family passed by and helped us the rest of the way out. They said that around the turn from where we were was even worse and that you need 4x4 to cross.

If you attempt to cross either have 4x4 or at a minimum let our your air out before you cross (and of course have a pump to re-inflate). Have a shovel and traction strips too.

We ended up turning around and camping on the bluff south of the arroyo which was perfectly fine and had an amazing view of the sunset and the arroyo to the left. Swam in the ocean, which was warm, to wash off all the sweat from hours in the sun.

The ranchers said the bluff on the other side was good camping and there weren't too many bugs. We only notice bugs as the wind slowed down at night, but there weren't too many.

There are multiple roads out from town but we took the one close to the beach which wound around various trash heaps, an abandoned cinder block shack and then eventually hit the arroyo where we could see a small goat pen with a guard dog down and to the right which is the road we took that got us stuck.

Beautiful spot overlooking the waves. Nobody but you and an occasional panga. Dolphins! Take the dirt road off the main road at the arroyo. Road parallels the ocean for some time. We took a good looking road west for cliffside ocean access.
