Great spot fairly close to the pavement. Isolated enough for some privacy but easy enough to access town without too much driving in Movie Rd.
The caveat... as is the case with most of the places we now share on iOverlander is: people use this spot and rarely clean up after themselves. You’ll find a ton of used toilet paper in the brush and plenty of other litter left by lazy and disgusting “campers.”
If you visit this location please help keep it open by picking up after those who are too stupid to do so themselves. Thanks and enjoy!
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
No longer available for camping. Alabama Hills only allows camping in designated spots. This is not one of them!
Report Check-InStayed before heading up to Whitney Portal. Great spot, many signs close the road saying ‘no camping, property of L.A.’ but this seems to only apply within 100ft or so of the road. There’s camping signs and recent NFS ‘no fires’ signs at the campsites away from the road.
