Latest Check-Ins

Gate is locked. No more camping or parking. Details sketchy but it is for sure closed.

Report Check-In

Might be the end of an era. Parking lot was closed down and padlocked and chained while we were in it. All RVs were asked to leave today. Closed until further notice even to car parking.

Report Check-In

Parking lot is closed no more campers allowed. There is a nice rv park 8 min from here called Rancho Escondido. Dry camping and hook ups.

Report Check-In

Easy access to great waves and nice beach. It can get very crowded in March, a bit of a party atmosphere, but lots of families/kids too. You can rent surfboards and boogie boards right there. Many vendors selling food, drinks, art, crafts. Even massage tables right there in the sand. Stay to the left as you enter - the white sand on the right side is very soft!
The only caveat here is the constant (8:30am-11:00pm) thump of club music and very loud multiple generators at Big Fun Beach Club (between camping and the beach). I can enjoy that scene, for sure, but by the end of three days it felt like literal water torture lol. I get what they’re going for but a little musical variety would probably be appreciated by their clientele (and everyone else within a quarter mile).
Bottom line: definitely worth a visit, especially if you surf, but unless you REALLY like techno (and 15 hours a day of loud generators) plan a short visit.

Report Check-In

this place is a reliable stop near Todos Santos for dry camping. a couple beach bars separate you from the beach, but there is no closer parking. Great for surfers.

the toilets are hit or miss, but you can always empty your pee jug in toilets. bring your own tp. there is a spot to deposit your trash.

beware of the soft sand. it's best to turn left immediately when you enter.

Report Check-In

Sandy parking lot next to the beach.
200 pesos per night. Bathrooms were pretty rough and the spot was a little crowded and had a stank about it. Closest spot to surfing at Los Cerritos.

Report Check-In

Big parking lot. Parking overnight is 200 peso’s. Nice spot to go surfing. No shower. Bathrooms are kinda dirty. Music and generator until 10PM. Good vibe at the campsite tho! Cerritos is cute and has nice restaurants.

Report Check-In

Parking lot to the Beach 200 pesos/10usd. He gave us change in usd (rare in Mexico). Lots of mouvement and bar n Beach can be noisy but there was no party after 10pm on christmas day. One of the beat Beach south baja for surf and Kids.

Report Check-In

This place is changing quick! No longer the same as the photos or videos we had seen. Multiple beach clubs going up in front of the parking lot, and long term people staying now. $10 a night, use the bathroom at your own discretion. Quiet is a hit or miss, could be a party going on any day of the week. We’ll be staying near todos next time we’re around

Report Check-In

Spent one night here, really quiet on a Monday.

It’s not like in the photos anymore, you don’t have beach front view, there is some installations for surfing course etc that block the view (was a deception for us).

But the beach itself is so nice. Good waves for surfing or just play, and you can actually spot whales in the distance in this season ! So cool.

Not much for 200pesos but if you want to stay at the beach it’s the only option around here.

Report Check-In

Sorry to be negative here but have to share our experience: paid 200 pesos and the toilets were not usable b/c they had not been cleaned or repaired. There was a huge party on the beach that ran from 11pm all the way through to the next morning. There was no security as folks came and went all night long. The beach was fun (though crowded) and waves were good but this was the least pleasant experience have had in a paid campsite on Baja. We moved on the next night so can’t confirm frequency of parties.

Report Check-In

Great spot on the beach, there's packed sand to drive on and I had no issues with my 22' C Class. Full sun with a nice breeze. Very chill, the lot did not fill up on a Sunday-Monday and the locals are super nice. Very dog friendly. Get a giant burrito at Baja Burrito Cerrito up the road.

Report Check-In

3 of us stayed here for 1 night, and 2 days, and it’s a great spot! Fills up quickly with locals and surfers in the morning but empty at night. Right across from the paid campsite and some of our group walked over to use their bathrooms.

Report Check-In

Right on the beach, parking along the side of dirt road where locals park to go surf. Ask for Mike and take a surf lesson for $60, he will take care of you and your family. He has lived in Cerritos for 35years and is very knowlagable. As for the camping it's very safe and friendly, lots of tourist during the day but gets quite at night. Bar and restaurant 50yards away. Vendors on the beach selling different stuff. Great place to stay and not have to pay at Cerritos.

Report Check-In

Prime location beach front. Good for surfing/ boogie boarding etc. Clean bathroom. Kimberly’s coffee up the street has the best mini breakfast burrito.

Report Check-In

stayed at the beach club a few nights. $200P, toilet that is sometimes in good condition, sometimes in bad. trash collection on site. some cell service. deep sand in parts. some long timers. excellent access to Cerritos beach at a great price point.

Report Check-In

Stayed 3 nights and caught some good surf. Big parking lot for camping. Very chill scene, quiet at night. Lots of families. No showers, but toilets which were not well maintained so a bit of a bummer if you prefer a little cleaner situation. Half the time the toilet didn’t flush. $10/night so a really good cheap deal with you need minimal services.

Report Check-In

Great spot ! Can be over crowded at times when that’s is good surf, so worth getting there before 8am or closer to sunset when the daily beach goers and workers leave.

Report Check-In

Not the type of spot we like camping in. Very crowded, lots of campground dogs and , unless you surf, not much going on. Noisy all the time. US$10 for no service. But if you like that - go for it. Easy access down a dirt road, 5 bars ATT. Local pub/restaurant is OK but overpriced.

Report Check-In

An excellent spot for good price, for around here where there isn’t many RV parking spots and especially on the beach! Dirt parking lot and washroom. Super quiet on Thursday night, was so happy with that. Everything in walking distance. I got temporary tattoos on the beach from Pancho and even my hair braided by his wife, good prices. The beach is a little too busy for my liking so we moved on.

Report Check-In

Back again and I still like it despite being a parking lot with no shade. The beach is perfect, long and open with great waves. Two bar and restaurants here now. Trash is bad in places. Local dogs are friendly. Lots of loud construction that drives me nuts but walk on the beach and it’s better. $200mx per night.

Report Check-In

We spent two nights here. Only ones staying at night. Nice quiet place, good beach for swimming and surfing. Bathrooms available but no shower. Nice restaurant on the beach with music at night. If you walk on the beach, you will find stairs that leads to a resto-bar around a very nice pool. You can even order your drink in the pool :)
Very good cell reception

Report Check-In

Stayed for 2 nights, but the ants and flies were so bad we ended up leaving early. Lots of dog poop around. Toilets better some days than others. Beach is really nice and got to try out surfing while there.

Send a whatsap to this number for black tank pump out while at this location +52 612 140 0891. There is a for sale sign on this location - I hope it never sells! We love this boon docking spot. 200-300 pesos per night here, and that includes access to the beach. The easiest way is to follow the road that Casa Caravan is off of, go straight, then slight left, and you are there!

Report Check-In

spent about a week here total. 10usd/200mxn a night to park in a sand lot very close to beach. most overlanders were parked in front or to left.

note: left side has deep sand areas.

very chill and safe vibe. guys wo work the bar and surf shop are very friendly and hilarious.

the closest place to buy beers and ice is about 1km up towards highway.

Surfito the camp kitten is very friendly and cute. he lives with the guys who run the shop and you can see him overseeing everything from the roof of the palapla.

BYOTP to toilets just in case there isnt any.

Report Check-In

very busy beach with hard sand parking, not very nice, lots of red any hills on the parking area. if you are looking for a quiet beach front place to park this is not the place. lots of people and vendors.
200 pesos per night

Report Check-In

Ice cream - no bueno, no matter what price. Massage usd$30-40/hr (we didn’t try). Ceviche 180p (dhdbf try). Clams 150p for 3 pieces (way over priced ), oysters 100p for 5 pieces - very fresh, jewelry - bargains could be obtained on a cloudy not busy day. Best deal tequila shots ! See photo …

Report Check-In

Local run, Eric, nice fella, charges $200MX to camp overnight. He lives here in a tent, knows everyone so it feels safe and welcoming. If you're planning on being here a few days, it's great. You can park anywhere you like by the beach, spread out, walk, surf, swim, bar here too. Dogs around are mostly friendly and mine are able to roam. Great vibe. My style place and people.

UPDATE 1/7/2022: Property is officially for sale. This won't be a campground for much longer. See photo attached.

Report Check-In

Nice big sandy parking just in front of the beach. 200pesos or 10$ for 24h. Clean toilets, very safe place.

Report Check-In

After over a week sleeping in our roof nest, we were ready for a bed. Stayed at the Cerritos Beach desert moon hotel. It is a hike up a lot of stair to the bar where you check in. The rooms are awesome, with a kitchenette, hot showers and the most comfy bed! Great ocean view too, highly recommend!

Report Check-In

Just pay the $200 to support the local community. The area is clean and flat. If you are tent camping you can put your tent up on the beach, per the guy that takes care of the area.

Report Check-In

I recommend not paying 200 pesos for this parking lot and staying instead down the road between FreeSouls and Costa Azul for free. I tuck in between the cactus and the fence, and no one bothers me.

Report Check-In

Big sandy parking lot right by Cerritos beach. Charging 200 pesos to camp for a night. Very clean restroom building with flush toilets. 4g coverage on Verizon.

Report Check-In

So cheap. Good camping right next to the ocean. Birding wasn’t bad in the scrubby area behind the lot. Super convenient for surfing. Buildings in the area are cool, too, and it’s nice having them in the horizon while camping. Relatively quiet and seems safe.

Report Check-In

This is just a parking lot for the beach. During the day it fills out, but no other campers overnight. Its a great beach for surfing, but that'd be the only reason to camp here. Everyone coming through is really nice though and we got all good vibes! If you're wanting to learn to surf, check out West Side Surf just up the road for lessons or board hire, they're an awesome group. No facilities, but fine Telcel phone service.

Report Check-In

There is still construction going on and there are not about to finish it. This is not a nice place to stay but it is convenient if you want to go to the beach. It is a small dirt road with no view at all and lot of people going on and off: sellers, rent shops, people going to the beach.

Report Check-In

Nice beach, but place looks very different now due to lots of construction on-going. Only small road left to public beach with lots of locals renting surf and boogie boards. Stayed for the day and went on to Playa Santa Maria. No shade on the beach.

Report Check-In

The location marker on iOverlander was wrong. Correcting it.

We drove around a bit to try and find the spot, finally found it by comparing to the photos on iOverlander. There were a bunch of cars parked using the beach, they all left by 10pm and it's just us and another camper. Saw several tents set up on the beach with people sleeping in them. Seems quiet and safe.

Report Check-In

good spot. there was a public dixi toilet at the beach entrance when we were there. surf rentals, nice waves.
stayed for 2 nights

there are showers at a nearby restaurant. I have heard you pay 20 pesos to use them, didnt go though.

the construction work is finished, kind of. the construction site is still there but it looks like they ran out of money some time ago. quiet at night.

the place is more parking lot style than campground.
another traveller put up a tent on the beach and it was fine

Report Check-In

Nice beach for surfing. Fun waves, a little bit crowded with people learning to surf. As they said this place is a dead end road that leads to the beach. The property next to it is currently under construction, so expect a lot of noise and activity (even on a Saturday). It gets a little bit crowded on weekends. We did not overnight here, we stayed at Pescadero Surf Camp. Telcel 4g.

Report Check-In

small dirt road leading to beach. Stayed here for one night, Sunday night was super quiet and almost no one showed up on Monday morning until about 10.

Report Check-In

nice beach, a few surfers seem to camp here, we pushed our bikes on to the beach and put up tent after dark, none bothered us. would not recommend with a car / rv

Report Check-In

There is NO camping here unless you wait for the surfers to leave for the day and park along the road . It is possible that tents may be allowed on the beach but no rigs and no services.

Report Check-In

We were told by many locals and the nearby Surf Hotel that it is now off limits. We camped on beach anyhow last night. We camped to on beach between the bungalows and a house. No one bothered us.

Report Check-In

Très joli spot idéal pour apprendre le Surf.
En longeant le côté droit avant l'entrée de la barrière pour accéder au parking de la plage, emplacement gratuit pour la nuit et la plage.
Location de surf 9h-12h 200pesos.

Report Check-In

If you follow the way to the beach colony there's a fence right next to the beach, inside the fence your pay, outside the fence it's free. Great beach loads of surfers and vendors, two bars with food and wifi. Surfboards and boogie boards for rent. 3G signal. No shade.
