Description
Lovely (self catering) Lodge just outside Mongu. Clean, friendly staff, nice bar and restaurant with lovely food.
Camping area is under development but you can already camp there and shower in one of their chalets (very reasonable prices). Mongu is the ideal stop over to the liuwa plains or to/from the south to Soma etc.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Latest Check-Ins
K595 (ZMW) for a basic double room, en-suite. Fridge, kettle, air con and TV (although no channels working!). Secure parking. Shower was supposed to be hot but actually very cold. We didn’t have time to ask for maintenance to fix it.
Reasonable breakfast for two included.
Restaurant okay. Typical Africa in having only half the items on the menu available, took over 1.5hrs to arrive after ordering, and was quite salty.
Perfectly adequate for an overnight.
All the rooms were occupied so we took a chalet for ZMK 895 per chalet which includes buffet style breakfast. We felt it was better value than camping which is currently in car park and one can use the shower in the rooms. The rooms and chalets all have air cons. There does not appear to be any self catering. Restaurant and bar and great pool. Recommend this as a stop before entering Liuwa Plains.
