Mara Explorers Camp has now been permanently closed by the owners. The land had been returned to the landlord.

Very nice campsite. 8$ pppn. Solar power, WiFi just close to the lodge.
We parked and took a safari. We recommend two Masai guys, Dan the guide and Lucky the driver +254700194042 It is worth arguing about the price, we paid 160$ per car per day not including park fees.
A transfer drive can also be made between Talek gate to Sekenani gate

Great location close to Sekenani gate. 100M from the tarmack road.
Expansive camping grounds but a bit uneven in some places. Kitchen area with cooking gas, utensils and a fridge available at no extra cost. Camping fees at 800 ksh pppn. Quite a number of friendly dogs on site

1000 Ksh ppn for camping with own Gear, they have a nice kitchen and facilities, 3 km from the gate, 7 cute dogs as a bonus

Still a great spot with clean ablutions (pit latrine) and great hot showers. You can do a tour to nearby Maasai Village too which was great. You can use as a base to explore the Mara and save on park camping fees(hefty). They can also arrange tours for you. Highly recommended.

We loved it here. Camping @ $10pppn and very good reasonably priced meals available in the dining area. Found plenty of flat enough places for our ground tents and it is only around a 10min drive to the Sekenani gate. They also have lots of friendly dogs hanging out!

Stayed for one night, large and very clean camp, bar and restaurant. Had warm showers morning and night. Very clean toilets. Bar has WiFi and access to power. Small kitchen on the campsite with water an shade. Site isn’t very level but not the worst. Nice place, but it’s pricey at $15 pp! They also have six friendly dogs.

Big nice place but without shadow for the car. For sitting the have shady places and a kitchen for dishwashing and cooking.
Electric fence around the camp, hot showers and long drop toilets, everythink is clean. Nice bar and restaurant and not expensive. Very friendly and helpfull staff.

Official price is now 1.500 pppn. Nice campsite that has what you need. If the spot isn't quite leveled, put some stones under your wheel.

Don't know about all other reviews, but we were as enthoustiastic. We not saying it is a bad campsite, because it's not.

The showers have really hot water and long drop toilets are clean.

But when staying with pop up roof or roof tent there is only one flat spot to camp, next to the fire pit ;where the night security men sit all night and chat until late). There is no shades.

They tried to charge 1500kes pppn, which is really overpriced. Dropped the price to 1000kes pppn. Still pricey for what the campsite has to offer (especially since we camped near the Oloololo gate at a luxery lodge with a great view over the Mara plains for $10,- for two and even tent for shower and toilet).

Also since the draught in Masai Mara for the last couple of years the animals are now more towards the Oloololo gate and North Mara conservation.

Very nice campsite & welcome stop after / before visiting the park. Price 1000 Kah pp/ night. 500ksh extra for use of kitchen which has water & Gas.lovely hot showers. Long drop toilets which were very clean. Very nice bar with pool table. Very friendly staff & owners & great dogs.they also have a restaurant if you want to eat . Also tents & rooms. Can also organise safaris to MM and other parks if required.

We think this is one of the best campsites in Kenya. beautifull surrounding, relaxed atmosphere, very friendly staff/owner and good and clean ablutions!! nice place to visit the great Maasai Mara from!
prices went up to 1000ksh pp for camping because they upgraded the campsite with Wifi and hot showers.

Nice campsite, close to gate. 650 ksh pppn. Friendly staff, they can tell you a lot about where to go in the park. Safari tours can also be arranged from here.
