Description

This place is an oasis on Costa Chica in Guerrero. We decided to spend a week, as the temps are perfect, and it is a quiet break from being on the road. 180 Pesos per person per night for Camping (rooms also available). Wifi 85 pesos for 24h. The sign for the turnoff from Rt. 200 says Playa Ventura, the map says Juan Alvarez. There is a pool and a good casual restaurant. From Aug.-Nov. this a prime spot for seeing turtles. The owner is Swiss and fluent in many languages. Also most kind and knowledgable about the area.

Nice clean campground. Friendly swiss owners. Excellent pool.

Report Check-In

What a fantastic place. It's a perfect oasis for rest and recovery. It has cold showers and somehow basic washrooms. The place was quiet, with no music and parties at night—only the sounds of the ocean. We were lucky to be part of the turtle release. It is an unforgettable experience. You can order dinner and the fish was delicious.

Report Check-In

Lovely place, tropical gardens and camping on green space with coconut tree shade. Awesome pool and great restaurant. Very nice owners. Unfortunately, couldn't swim in the ocean as tide was too strong.

Report Check-In

Lovely welcome by the owners.
Grassy shady backyard for campers, also big rigs. 150 Pesos / night .
Clean Pool and bathrooms available.
Restaurant and Bar run all the year round open.
It is a very lovely place for a stop over or a longer stay.
Very interesting is the turtle nesting farm.
In the breading saison you can join the release of the turtles.

Report Check-In

Great spot. Good vibes. Friendly people. Pool was very welcome. Bathrooms are decent. Charged me 120 for a night. Would recommend.

Report Check-In

Awesome place. The owner is very accommodating. We spent 2 nights here because the pool was very nice. Definitely go there you won’t regret it
We were charged 120pp

Report Check-In

Tried to enter with a 40 feet rig but was impossible to get in although we gave it many tries. Could have parked in the street right in front and pay to use facility but decided to check campings at the next beach instead

Report Check-In

We only stayed one night and enjoyed the pool and walking the beach. Facilities were clean. Viktor is very knowledgeable about the turtles on the coast here.

On our morning of departure we enjoyed walking the beach around 7:15 and on our way back we spotted baby turtles just hatched walking across the sand to the water. Some were still digging themselves out.
We stood and watched for quite a while! Great experience!!

fantastic place, right on the coast. really beautiful facilities and has all the services. we paid 180pp but worth it. Big rigs may struggle. cold showers clean toilet, bar, swimming pool are all really clean and comfortable.
ace of a place.

Report Check-In

The place is beautiful, the swimming pool very pleasant
There are palapas on the beach but bring your hammock...there are none!
The hotel next door puts the music on quite loud, it's not too pleasant.
We paid 360 pesos per night for 2, and in the end, we were asked 50 pesos more per day for an electric cooler, finally we paid 50 pesos for the 2 days...!!  Very expensive...
There is no telcel reception here, and wifi is chargeable.
The toilet is in the shower and smells bad
The restaurant is extremely overpriced and there was a mistake in the bill
Don't come for the turtles here, there is nothing.

Report Check-In

Nice place with pool. Owner Esther was gone, but Swiss boyfriend Viktor is very kind and works long hours to save the turtles. It's pricey: 180 per person per night plus 50 for 15 amp electric. You can think of part of it as a donation for the turtles. Wifi available at 85 p for 24 hours. It's not pet friendly because the dog there is (understandably) protective of her territory. The beach is too steep for walking and the waves are too strong for swimming.

Report Check-In

Sam you forgot th Laptop. Come back, please
IT wood be save but you needed

Report Check-In

Definitely open again for staying!

Highly recommend going here especially to learn more about the turtles and get a real experience (nothing is done for tourist, all about the turtles) releasing turtles and helping find new nests. Esther is super knowledgeable and cares a lot for the turtles. If you want, it might even be possible to stay for longer and help out with the turtles and get something in return like free food or free night (Esther is very open for this and it might just be the experience you are looking for).

The pool is super nice and bathrooms are clean. We just loved it!

Report Check-In

Heads up to those planning to stop here soon…. We found out on arrival that they are currently closed! In chatting with a few people around, it is possible maybe just for a week break? Have a back up plan in case!

Report Check-In

Superb place in the lawn, swimming pool, 200 pesos per night, the wifi is available by buying a voucher

Report Check-In

Second visit in 4 years and this is even better! We spent 4 days (2 vans) . All perfect: lawn, pool, beach, waves, turtles, owners, quiet, sunset, birding, clean toilet and showers, etc. Highly recommended!

Report Check-In

When first pulled up we were greeted by an aggressive pit bull. we were told to keep our dogs on leashes, cool, no problem, but he lets his dog run free and eventually attacks our dog which is tied up. not freaking cool man. no power or water to hook up at and no wifi. and to top it all off, we sat down for dinner and grabbed a couple of beers. for over an hour he didn't come to take our order or offer more 36 peso coronas. This place is by far the most unfriendly spots we have stayed at in all of Mexico. I can't believe we paid for this experience.

Report Check-In

It’s really wonderful here !!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Place for us. Very clean and so peaceful and quiet. The highlight of the day are the little tortugas 🐢. Highly recommended.

Report Check-In

Perfect spot direct on the beach with green gras. All wel maintained including clean bathrooms. The wel maintained swimming pool is welcome to cool down.
One of the campsites with the most space along the coast.

Report Check-In

Nice place with nice owners, 300 Pesos per night even if you don't need electricity and it has no free Wifi (you can buy Internet for 24h for 70 pesos), quite expensive. We had the Pool (nice and clean) almost all the time for ourselves and enjoyed our stay.

Report Check-In

The detour of the MEX200 to this place on the Playa Ventura is very worthwhile. Ersther and Viktor are Swiss people and run this oasis excellently. There are 4-6 RV sites with electricity, high-speed internet, etc. The menu card offers a large selection. The large pool is very well maintained and clean. Cost MX $ 150 / pers. Highly recommended. It was said in German: “rattenscharf” -
hot as a rat

Report Check-In

Great spot as noted above. 150/person + 50 for kids and +50 for elec. per night.
it was 30 amp but our plug didn’t match. Loved the pool & we were able to release leatherback turtles on 2 occasions. Ester and Victor are doing an amazing job here! And Panda, the Great Dane, is adorable!

Report Check-In

Very beautiful place with nice owner and a large pool. Every thing that a camper needs.

Report Check-In

Beautiful place! Super clean. Great pool and friendly helpful owners.
We even got to release turtles twice as a bonus!!!
150 per person

Report Check-In

Yes, some order in Mexico. We loved our 2 day stay here. We got lots of help and had lots of fun with Esther and Victor. We gladly paid the price to enjoy their oasis of order. The food was wonderful too. You could get very lucky with the turtles if the conditions are right. The pool was extremely nice and the wifi even worked well in the evening.

Report Check-In

Very beautiful yes, but a little too pricey. $150/pp for sleeping in our van and $400/pp for a cabaña.

Report Check-In

Nice friendly place with high standards. Lovely grassy grounds, right onto a lovely beach. Unfortunately due to power-cut over 3 days, there was no plugin, WiFi or swimming pool available to use. This made the 150pppn a bit steep, but would be good value if everything was working properly (obv not their fault).

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

As described but expensive and completely understandable. Pool 6 bathrooms , bar and restaurant, cabanas. It’s more of a hotel than campground but they are offer everything. Barely 3 G service and very tight for large rigs We stayed 1 night. The place down the road was 50$ per person with pool as well but pool was not full so we opted for this place. Got our moneys worth and headed out

Statement of the owner:
The place is located directly at a endless and lonely sand beach at the Pacific Ocean. It's absolutely quiet and save. You are welcome to have fun in the sea, or enjoy a swim in the pool. You can camp on the grass underneath huge palm trees or on on the sand. I'm as well running a turtle rescue an conservation center (legally - with license) here on my property. If your interested, I can offer lots of information and some activities - just talk to me about it.

don't miss this beautiful place. its the best we have ever seen so far in almost three years mexico!

Report Check-In

We stopped in here on our way north. Seems like a very nice place to sit and relax for a few nights. The surf was a little too rough for swimming but the beach was beautiful and the campground very tidy. We would have stayed for another night or two but it was much more expensive than we had expected at 540 pesos for the night with our camper van. 300 pesos for two adults plus 240 for our two kids.

Report Check-In

La Tortuguita is a beautiful, clean campground run by a Swiss couple. Ester has been there 22 years and has created a magical spot. It is exactly as others have described. There is shade to park under. The bathrooms are very clean. The pool is immaculate. We did not have any hook ups (for aircon) but we were able to sleep with all doors and windows wide open. We were charged 300 pesos/night.

Report Check-In

Beautiful place as described by many others.
240 pesos for 2 people in a truck camper.

Report Check-In

A jewel, one month into our 3 month trip; this takes first price!
Nice temp, nice walking beach, nice camping in shade under tall palm trees. Only room for a few smaller RVs, no hook ups, maybe electric if your inverter agrees. Peaceful. We decide to stay 4 nights, to start with...cllean toilet and showers and beautiful pool area

Report Check-In

It's a great place with a pleasant atmosphere. You can camp in a very nice garden under the shade of the palm trees. Three lovely dogs and a spacious beach awaits you. Esther is a cordial, super friendly and welcoming person. Highly recommended.

Report Check-In

This is maybe the best place we ever been in México. The owner - Ester - ist super nice and helpful. The kitchen is fantastic. And she's licensed to rescue turtles. She knows everything about these amazing animals. Go and see yourself

Rates 2018: Van or small RV (max 24-26 ft): 100 pesos/pp. Power: 20 pesos/pp. Tents: 200 /pp incl. breakfast. Room for 5-7 RV/van and over 20 tents under palapa. Also restaurant and hotel with few nice rooms for rent. Dogs are welcome.

This place is a hidden gem. We stayed one night and wish we could have stayed longer. Turn off Mex 200 and go all the way into the town. When you get to the fork turn right and go until you see the sign, you will feel as you have missed it as you start to get further from town. There is a hotel/site called Tortuga but that is a different place. Look for the full name of La Tortuguita. The owners are very friendly. There is a restaurant, bar and a pool. The owner has three very nice dogs that love to play. They also nest the turtle eggs on property and you can see the release into the ocean. Heads up the coordinates are correct for this post however our gps sent us right at the El Papayo arch, don't go that way stay straight.

Report Check-In

Wondefull place, nice owner, pool, restaurant. 190 peso/ person, breakfast included. Large and high rigs cannot enter the premises because of low hanging branches. But you can park your RV alongside the fence, directly at the beach and enjoy all the amenities.

Report Check-In

Excellent beach side camping for tents. Owners where polite and helpful. very quiet area.
