Huge dirt lot to park overnight. Great view of the alkaline lake. Very windy while we were here but that might be a common thing for this area.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Great stop over on the way to Burning Man. For high clearance vehicles, head down a short dual track to the NW. After about 100 yards is a small camp site overlooking the lake. Suggest parking by the gravel pile and scout it out.
Report Check-InLoved this spot but saw a few mice, so decided to continue on. Have had to deal with them before and not willing to do so again. :)
Report Check-InGreat spot just a bit up 395 from the junction with HWY 31.
Only person here. The breeze off the lake feels great on a hot day.
Not very good cell coverage on US Cellular but there’s a fire that knocked out phones and internet across the whole area and that might be why.
Quiet with nice views of the lake and sunset
We are full-timers and have a 36 ft Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow. We stayed for one night here in late May. Pretty much what others have said - quiet behind the gravel mounds, very little traffic on US 395, especially at night, a really nice place. However, some disgusting f@#$%ng person left a large nasty pile of feces soiled jeans, pee pad, wipes, etc. lying in a heap by one of the gravel mounds. It has now been bagged and removed so others won’t have it detract from their stay.
AT&T coverage was fair, with 3 bars of LTE and speeds up to 3 MB/s.
Report Check-InWe camped around the back side of one of the mounds. Windy but perfect for a nights rest! We walked around in the morning where the lake was…there is still water but it’s dried up a lot! Our dog got very very muddy 😄 Bo noise from the road even though this spot is literally just off the road.
Report Check-InThis is a fantastic spot. Others mentioned a dry lake but it’s not currently dry. Only negative would be fairly weak cell service.
Report Check-InEnjoyed the views of the mountains and mostly dry lake especially as a storm rolled in. Private if you drive around the dirt mound. Wind blocked all other noise though few cars on the road. Flat. 3bars of Verizon.
Report Check-InVery private spot if you drive to the back. The lake is dried up and if you venture to far away it smells a bit fishy. The views of the mountains is gorgeous.
Report Check-InBeautiful views of the once filled lake. A few cars drive by, every once in awhile, but not enough to create a disturbance. Other than that very quiet and peaceful here. No tmobile data service here and no shade.
Report Check-InReally great spot- pull around behind the big dirt mound and there is privacy and a nice marsh to walk around. one bar at&t only when I was outside my vechile.
Report Check-InNice big open lot. One big truck here when I slept here. Smells like sulfur. Some litter around but views are nice enough and works for a night!
