Description

The main roads have a few encampments BUT don’t fret! There are also many “off-shoot” small roads which lead to nice level spots, quiet, with a view. This is one of them, but this narrow bumpy road is accessible only by car or smaller 20” vans. Bonus: 3 to 4 bars T-Mobile!

Sign at beginning of path says no camping no fires. But there was a smaller sign that said starting May 1st that they were going to make changes. we seen many people driving in. we slept & left. wasn't a bad spot.I would stay again.

Beautiful spot and it is EMPTY this time of year! I had unlimited choice in campsites and chose one with a gorgeous backdrop of the mountains. Heard only two other vehicles and saw one person walking a dog, other than that, just me and the coyotes for a few days. The snow has left some deep & soft mud ruts at certain sites. The main road is fine but I needed 4x4 to go back a bit.

As others have said, I’m sure this place is madness in the spring and summer. Definitely worth it to check out, though. I surprisingly didn’t see any trash.

If you want a spot now in the area theyre hard to get right off the side of the main forest road. I had to do quite a bit of scouting on foot to find a good level spot for my 30ft skoolie where id not be making any further impact on the land in the area. Lots of people definitely seem to be living here whoch sucks. Some guy came is car for several hours each afternoon to get high and cough non stop. Another local would rock up each night and blast music for hours on end. Another local said the ranger kicked them all out last week for living here for several months. Id say 80% of people along this road are all livjng here full time which is the reason why its packed all the time. Shame really because its a great spot but the goings on meant it felt seedy and unsafe. Left 4 days earlier than planned.

This is a great little spot. Not bad Verizon service here. The blm land here seems to be getting quite popular. Lots of other campers around.

Many options for different vehicles along the way, plenty of fire wood with fire pits. We got a nice private spot- we are in a 2WD. Busy night for the train and heard some coyotes. 2 bar cell service, no bathrooms.

Tons of spots on a Sunday night. Lots of fire rings and tons of privacy.
