Great spot, pretty much any rig can make it in and lots of open field spots that you can fit. Can imagine it getting busy during the weekend but had no problem finding a spot during the week

Report Check-In

Not many spots are easily accessible along these roads. Very quiet during the week but extremely crowded beginning Thursday due to a mountain bike meet up. If you take the road to the right at the Y, there is a big level spot on your left just before the road starts to go up the mountain. After that, the road is steep and narrow with big rocks. Close to Cedar Breaks NM. Good TMobile & Verizon coverage.

Tried to find a spot but jam packed and noisy from all the atv's. very beautiful view though

Great clean site. 9pm on a Wednesday, 3rd car here. Steep windy drive from I15. Easy access in a CRV .2miles from the road. Sites out in the open with views of the rock formations or mores secluded big spots. Fire rings with plenty of wood, but fires not permitted at the moment. Very clean except for a few things left behind. No charge. 3 bars on att. Some places for basic supplies a mile or two away at near the slope but nothing open except maybe a pizza spot.

Great spot to stay while visiting Cedar Breaks NM. Good Verizon reception - was able to log onto work laptop & connect to vpn. Google maps says Hwy 148 (off 14) is closed after mid-Nov which is not true. It may close due to snow as the ranger told me it is not a maintained road, but I’d call the info center first. I almost skipped this thinking it was closed and it’s definitely open.

What a great location! Any size rigs will make it out here and the views are great! Pit toilet clean. Friendly folks all around.

On our way home from Colorado we saw this camping area was listed on iOverlander so we drove by on June 26, 2021. It is a big meadow with fantastic views to the west of pink cliffs like nearby Cedar Breaks National Monument but it was absolutely packed. There had to be 50 vehicles there. It was not our scene as we like remote camping so we moved on.

Pulled into to the Bear Flat camping area - a cluster of campsites, rest room facility and wide open field surrounded by some wooded areas. Also next to Marathon Trailhead. Amazing views to the southwest. One other camper here — very quiet and peaceful (except for a few ATV’s some distance away). No access issues for vehicles unless you want to take rough roads heading out from area. Didn’t explore these.

P.s. Elevation 10,000 ft here; not for the altitude sensitive!
