Latest Check-Ins

It is not allowed to park overnight at this place. Police officer came in the evening and told us so. We got a permission to stay but it would be good to update this information.

Report Check-In

Stayed one night.
a woman alone in a toyota sienna camper. I didn't feel very safe, no particular reason, just felt sketchy, not sure why...
Wanted to sleep in the lower parking lot, inside the park, the one on the beach, but there were many people driving by and just sitting in their cars even when it was fully dark around 10:30-11:00pm. Decided to not get in problems with any park patrol (which I didn't see even once) and moved up to the parking lot near the top restrooms. Was pretty quiet between midnight and 7:30am.
Both restrooms were closed by the time I arrive, about 8pm. The top one was open at 7:30am, and the bottom one opened shortly after.
Overall ok experience, the locals are pretty noise. OK for one night.

we spent one night in the parking lot between the two parks on the Kennedy Park side.
the view is superb but the locals are very noisy. loud music and frequent passage until midnight and from 7am.
that's why we didn't stay longer.

Nice to stay one night but a lot of back and forth. The beach was amazing and it was great to swim in the lake!
Btw toilets were closed at 8pm when we arrived

Didn't feel safe on a Saturday night, lots of youngsters with music on full. Drive to state park 30 min south

This beach is a gem! The spot listed here is one of three parking lots on Simmons Island. All three lots allow overnight parking. We stayed 2 nights at the lot listed and a third night at the lot right on the beach. There are 2 public restrooms. which are very well maintained. And there is an outdoor beach shower. It was pretty busy on Sunday during the day, but during the weekdays, it was very chill. In the evenings it does appear to be a local driving spot. So, there were a lot of noisy cars going by until about 12am. It feels very safe and we saw multiple official city vehicles during our stay (emptying trash, maintaining bathrooms, etc) and no one gave us any trouble. We saw a few other rigs parked over night as well. As a bonus, there are at least 3 of these parks along the lake in Kenosha and the city itself appears to have ample street parking. 10/10 would recommend :-)

Stayed here two nights. First night was fine. Second night a man in an unmarked truck drove by my van blaring his horn and yelling for me to leave Wisconsin 6 separate times from 1am to 5am. Not sure what this guy’s beef is with vanlife but multiple park rangers and cops drove by me and said nothing. So just be aware this psycho might harass you if you stay here.
And if you are the man who did this, please seek therapy.

Great place for our first time boondocking! We stayed here last night. No issues. We parked over by the restrooms. They lock them around 9pm but open them back up fairly early in the morning.

Nice area to spend the night. Spent the night here and no one bothered me. Very nice beach and lighthouse. I parked outside of the park that closes at 10pm then spent the morning at the beach before heading out.
