amazing spot! plenty of camping along the waters edge around the whole reservoir. go to the pin and follow the road all around to the left to find plenty of spots. camped overnight in a tent with my truck parked. only downside is the bugs are awful. gnats and mosquitos at night and flies in the morning. the unbelievable sunrise view was worth it though

I Spent the night here, quiet and as of mid march empty I was the only one there, qe parked right next to the water, some spots have been closed down probably for how close to the water they are or flood risk, as today reservoir is not dried out its got plenty of water and a bunch of wildlife can be heard throughout the night and day. mostly level spots. and slow internet speed through Tmobile.

Absolutely one of the worst spots we've found. around 9pm the putrid smell of the dairy farms and slaughterhouses nearby started moving through the area - nauseating. at 11pm teenagers showed up about 200 yards away and blared terrible music, so loud that earplugs couldn't keep the sound out. we left at 12am and drove to the Walmart 25 mins north.

Walmart was great.

We really enjoyed this location! Beautiful spot on the water. Plenty of open spots. Google maps led us in on a gravel road that was quite washboarded, but it’s not very long. The bird watching was incredible! Highly recommend getting out your binoculars here to take in the all the different birds. US cellular service was spotty in our location. There was some trash around from previous visitors. Picked up what we could. Met ‘Fred’ the caretaker, he was very nice. Did not see the toilets or trash bins but we also didn’t venture in very far.

We will be back!

We stay at this location often, it's a good stopping point for us heading East after we've journeyed West. beautiful to wake up to the reservoir.
there is a toilet here, I've never seen it clean. a dumpster next to the toilet for any trash.
full bars with Verizon

Beautiful and quiet. There’s a little road noise from a nearby highway, but it’s very subtle. Tons of parking for pretty much any rig. I was slightly skeptical as I got close to the main turn in, but the roads proved to be great.

A sign at the entrance suggests the need for an annual Colorado state parks pass and either a fishing license, small game license, or another license I forget. I’m guessing the fishing/hunting licenses are for any of those activities and the annual pass is for access. If I get to talk to a ranger, I’ll update the requirements here.

Maps took me to a weird location on the other side of a canal, so consider making sure the actual location you’re being mapped to is next to the lake.

I’ll definitely be back!

Cool spot. Half of reservoir is a field with hecka chill Cows 🐄. WAS VERY WINDY! Couldn't real get out without getting pelted with sand. However, the wind made the shade cooler on a hot day. all in all very relaxing night and day.

Pictures showed water, but it was just fields when I got here. Quiet place, only me and a couple other cars. Awesome place to camp.

Spot on from first entry. Lots of options. Follow directions from camper 1.

A nice and large space to camp and avoid neighbours. It's free! The only problem is that it requires a hunting license or Colorado parks pass to access. I arrived with no other option without problem, YMMV.
