Decent spot to stealth car camp, on the southbound side of the road (heading toward the beach), about 100 yards of gravel parking along roadside. There were plenty of of other vehicles parked here, looked more or less like residential parking, yet there was only a steep embankment to the right, and only a few homes on the opposite side of the road. Slight down grade but relatively flat. Fair amount of traffic but died down the later it got. Great cell signal.

I came here after striking out on route 1 (cops telling vans to move). there is SO much road noise. I stayed stealth in my car and frequently awoke to cars zipping past shaking my car. there are signs that say no camping or parking but there were several rv's undisturbed (as well as residents' cars parked along the street). this is a residential area. come late and leave early if you must.
Report Check-InGreat spot surrounded by other vehicles. I saw some no parking signs in some parts the next morning but I was quiet and nobody bothered me. So I spent the day at the beach and nighttime at this spot. Then returned to the beach the next morning. It’s noisy and vehicles drive by fast next to the van. But no complaints
Report Check-InYogimilie said it right in his/her review, just drive to the canyon. Formally not allowed but we stayed for 2 nights and loved it.
Report Check-InGet off the crowded PCH and enjoy gorgeous Topanga Canyon. It was late and so we just pulled onto a pull-out outside the ‘no parking 1.5 miles’ signs. Seemed like there were parked within those signs though. The next morning we drove up into Topanga and went down Old Topanga Canyon Road and it looked like there were a lot of good potential spots. We hung out for the better part of the day at Red Rock Canyon Park. It’s a $5 parking fee but there are trails, water, picnic tables and lots of shade. Not to mention it’s absolutely gorgeous! We’re in LA for a family thing and aren’t really LA people so these canyons were a welcome reprieve. We would actually go back just to explore Topanga.
Report Check-InStayed here without any problems. Saw a skoolie when I came in that was still there with I left. A little noise from the road, but otherwise a good place to crash for the night.
Report Check-InA number of good spots between here and Topanga Beach. Ample shoulder, ok LTE signal. Fairly level, especially closer to the beach where I stayed the second night—no houses or businesses close by.
