Description

Beautiful, large campground in a forest directly along the Rio Azul. Very relaxing. Each site has a bbq pit, seating and table. You can collect fire wood inbetween the trees (they don't sell). The river is shallow but good for a dip. Hot showers in low season only when you ask for it, high season following a subscription schedule. Sanitary buildings are a bit old. No wifi. No electricity, just very little sockets at the common area (which is a roof with some tables). No light around the sites so it gets really dark at night (beatifull star gazing) . There's a small shop at the reception, where they sell snacks and cold beer.

Low season price Nov 2022 was 1.200 pesos per person, not extra for car.

Nice campground but not in the same state as described before. Plus are the nice and big spots right at the river with picnic bench and fire pit. Beautiful green area. Possibility to swim in the river. It has a little common area (outside but with a roof) and very small shop at the entrance with some snacks and cold drinks. There is no wifi, no electricity (you can ask the lady to charge something for you), no potable water, and no light after dark. The douche and toilet building are old and pretty far away from the spots at the river. Shower only hot if you ask for it, they will have to turn the tank on. In high season you have to subscribe in some kind of shower schedule. During the day with good weather there are a lot of day recreation people on the campground too. Costs were 1.200 pesos per person, not extra for car. The place is beatifull but more basic.

Closed when we were here (weekend in late July), so we camped in our truck on grassed area near entrance for free. Super quiet but also cold obviously this time of year

Super beautiful place beside the Rio Azul. Comments true (huge, shady) but facilities are not well maintained at all. Guys looking after the place were friendly but pretty irresponsible. Played loud music one night and drums (not bongo, actual big drums, shake-the-house-down drums) and bass guitar the next, starting at 1am. The bathroom block was constantly filthy but the showers were hot. Not 24 hrs as signed (9:30am-12 and 7-11pm) and like us, you may have to remind them to turn on the gas or they may just continue to watch movies in the common area. Beautiful surroundings and happy to camp but all in all, not worth 100pp per night.

Beautiful, large campground in a forest along a pretty rocky river. Very relaxing. Each site has a bbq pit, seating and table, electricity and light and there was plenty of dry firewood laying around. The river is shallow but good for a dip. Hot showers 24h, toilets. Pets are ok. No wifi. There's a table soccer game and they sell cold beer at the reception. Wasn't crowded at all and very quiet. Really liked this place. We checked out several campgrounds closer to town before but they were either bad for vehicle camping or didn't allow pets, and most were super crowded with backpackers. The high season prices at Los Alerces are 100 pP. Didn't pay for our vehicle since we don't need electricity, but a motorhome may.
