Description

Fabulous spot overlooking the river. Several wild camping options. Some require high clearance to access. Saw Osprey and Marmot. Plenty of shade. Hiking trail or walking along the forest roads is great. A bit busy over the weekend, but not bad. Quiet and totally dark at night. Pretty good AT&T and Verizon signal.

As described by others. Really good spot for a night. Signs posted to keep food items bear safe and a couple of fire rings.

no "no camping" signs, there are however forest service "bear food storage" signs.
free camping allowed.
nice spot over the dam, watched 3 otters play this morning

Nice spot w excellent views. A number of spots/fire rings but only 2 main ones are level and big enough for van or RV.

Nice spot(s) as previously described. There are actually 3 spots in this area which can be used. A little update to the directions, you will go through the green gate then head about a 1/4 mi down the dirt road. There was some drive by traffic during the day but the night was quite.

Report Check-In

There were no signs posted about no overnight camping and a couple rangers passed us and their only warning was to keep food bear safe. We had a lovely spot overlooking one river with a very short walk down to where the two meet.

Popular with the locals. Beautiful location, lots of fly fisherman. Gorgeous view of the river above and below the dam. A few fire rings. Did not have great T-Mobile service, said I had 2 bars LTE with a booster but the quality of reception didn’t reflect that same info. Had to leave, not good enough service for work. The views are breathtaking on the edges out over the water.

This is a nice little spot. There are a couple different places to park, and there were a couple other car campers there with me. Although it was quiet, and never saw much of my neighbors.

It says there are pit toilets here, but I found that you had to walk across the dam, and then follow a little trail on the right that leads to the actual established campsite 1/2 mile away to get to them. Although I got to park for free (unlike the established campsite), so the 5-10 minute walk to the bathroom wasn’t a big deal for me.

Great little spot by the river. Decent cell reception. Short walk down to the river

Spot above the dam, several fire rings, shady. Great views of the river, dam just a few steps away. Excellent Verizon signal. Busy! Nearby spots filled up as the evening wore on, got a bit noisy.

Great spot! You’ll see a reservoir right before taking the last turn to get here, and it was beautiful to see the sunset there. There is a lot of spots to park around. The original spot was taken but we just park right next to it with no issues, 2 more car-campers around but quiet. Beautiful River, many people were fishing and rafting in the AM. 2bars for Verizon, which allows to work sharing data.
