Large open area on Bras d'Or Lake. located at Potletek Mi'kmaw first nation land. overlooking chapel Island. Great view!
free camping and has a dump station. No bathrooms or water. Good cell signal.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
dump station is not locked, can still dump end of October while others places have already closed. The only place to dump in CB at this time.
Report Check-Inwide open area, lots of camping area. A campground on the reserve that is used for their annual ceremonies. Met a local from the reserve who popped by to check out our setup in the morning. no issues and helped clean up the area when left out of respect for the area. Spent the night on our way to drive Cabot Trail.
Report Check-InVery large space, a lot of spots to park your rig comfortably. Last 1km of road is a dirt road, in dry conditions no 4wd required. Easy enough for a sedan to pass. As someone mentioned earlier, there is a construction going on and workers start coming at 7am.
Report Check-InWonderful spot for the night. Nice views (beautiful sunrise) and very dark overnight (lots of stars!). Plenty of places to park.
Report Check-Insuper dark, quiet, and very beautiful view. There are many spots to park, big rig and tent friendly too I think. Some pot holes on dirt road in, about 1km in so not very bad. I would stay here again and highly recommend it. Although, it looks like there's some construction going on right now, it may be noisy on some week days in the morning if they're working.
Report Check-InGreat spot. Beautiful views and lots of space. We came in late at night in the dark and parked on the left hand side of Chapel Road but we think the camping spaces are probably to the right. We we the only ones camping there. A pickup came by around midnight but did not bother us. They are doing some major construction down at the water’s edge so construction trucks and workers woke us at 7:00.
Report Check-InEasy access dump station on right side of road, just before camping coordinates.
Report Check-InLots of room and great views from any of the places you can set up camp. There was only one other rig here overnight and the place was very quiet. very good signal on Telus
Report Check-InAbsolutely gorgeous. Young people came down at 3:30am so it was a little noisy, but still safe. No one bothered us. Be self contained. We picked up a full garbage bag of crud people left behind. Crazy since there’s a big trash bin.
Report Check-Inbeautiful place! the road here is crap though. drive slow be careful with big rigs.
Report Check-InBeatiful place!! But we had very restless night. At 10.30 pm , we slept, knocked a man at our door. We didn't answer. During night a lot of quads and cars drove around the site. What a pity! We stayed there for the night before Labour Day. Perhaps it was because the people needn't to work next day.
Report Check-InCame in after sunset. Large gravel & grassy areas. Across from a historic Native Island very close in plain view. Had the place to ourselves & enjoyed a fire overlooking the waterfront. beautiful spot. Feeling very honored to have been able to stay hear.
Report Check-InNous n’avons pas coucher ici. Plein de vidanges partout rien d’interessant
Report Check-InVery nice place. Sunset are magical And People from the community are very friendly.
Flat terrain, would recommand.
Please pack your trash
l'emplacement est à côté du camping, beaucoup de va-et-vient, mais tranquille avec table à pique-nique et endroit à feu.
Report Check-InReally Nice place and the people there are so friendly.
We stand alone there, only a few cars passed by during the evening and night, but no one disturb us.
We spend a really quite and relaxing night with the best sun down there.
Nice place right on the water. When we stayed here there was a crazy storm moving through, so lots of wind and very wet.
View was still great and would stay here again. I bet it gets very busy in the high season.
As described by others. At 6:00 pm we are the only ones here, although someone came to use the dump station a while ago. Very, very, very windy here today, so we’re kind of stuck in our RoadTrek. But ground is level and view is good.
Report Check-InGiant parking lot on the water on reserve called ‘Potletek Campground’. Came end September, not a soul in site. Zero amenities. Mediocre cell reception.
Report Check-Inlarge open area on bras d'or lake. located at Potletek Mi'kmaw first nation overlooking chapel Island. Great view!
