Take a right. Up the hill, there's a big opening with a large pile of wood you can use to burn on the rocks. Located at the end of the opening on your right. You will need 4x4 because the road is very rutted, uneven and washed out. Not sure I would try if it was raining. There is a lot of space at the top of the hill so bring your friends!

amazing spot. lots of dead trees and branches around for firewood. large trees shielded me quite well from the mighty South Dakota winds. AWD vehicle is definitely recommended with some clearance to reach the site but it's not necessary. use at your own discretion

Very nice spot with an amazing morning view. As said before, be careful going up. It was dark when we did and we got sucked into the deep rut a bit. Watch out for the cowrpies!

Amazing spot just up a fire road. The road up was a little rough. We easily made it up with a chevy express 2wd extended, but I would not recommend anything longer. We arrived late right before the holiday weekend and saw no one else the entire stay.

3” of fresh snow on 11/14/20. Definitely need true 4 wheel drive on the short trail to the campsite. There is one rutted out, uphill portion on a sharp corner. The downhill side has a fairly deep ditch if you slide into it.
Beautiful campsite and views of tall pines and rock faces. One bar of Verizon LTE service. Plenty of room to hike and explore the surrounding pine forest.
