Really nice spot on the river. Owners are nice and their dog Enzo is awesome. Showers were hot and then ice cold alternating for us. Wifi not working right now. Discoteca nearby is pretty loud until after midnight.

Good campingground 15 km outside of Pucón for any kind of camping!!! Wind protection for rooftop tents/tents, enough space for campervans/big rigs + the best showers/toilets (very clean) so far. The place has a little private playa and some great firepits for bbq. Peter and Bianca are great hosts and they know the region very well so they got a lot of information if you need some. German,English,Spanish.

The price was 20000 per night for 2ppl and a car with rooftt. Hot showers, good wifi, fishing and good vibes included :)

Ps. The first campinggroud in chile were the 20000 per night are totaly worth it!!!

Ruka Rayen is located about 22 km east of Pucón at the foot of Quetrupillán volcano and between the rivers Palguin (famous kayak river) and Trancura (famous rafting river) – so if you want to avoid the crowd in Pucón, Ruka Rayen is the right place for your vacation. From here you can climb the three nearby volcanoes (Quetrupillán, Villarrica and Lanin) or reach the two national parks (Huerquehue, Villarrica). The camping area is located next to the Palguin river.

By the end of march there were no signs by the side of the road directing to this place. We assumed it was closed.

This is a wonderful, wonderful place, particularly if you can camp or park next to river. 10,000 pesos pp. w/o breakfast. Good facilities and both Pieter & Bianca were warm and helpful. Highly recommended!

Report Check-In

Hostel and camping ground at the same time, it is taken care of by Bianca and Peter. Price for a room in hostel with shared bathroom was 27'000 per night (2 p). Includes breakfast. We had a great time with Bianca who took time to ask on our behalf to conaf about open trails at the national park huerquehue as well as giving us indications and suggestions for our next stops of trip. Was a wonderful experience and will gladly come back!

Hostal/camping on a very nice place.
Prices for camping are meanwhile double: 10.000 pesos/persons/nights (because he was told to take more money).
=> For us: definitely too high.

Usage of washing-machine is possible, if you are willing to give your laundry to the owner and pay 7000 pesos. Too much!!!

Be aware: the host "lives" in the hostal, that he offers (although his own house is another building) - so, he is always around. You are never alone with the other guests - for us a bit of too much control => very unpleasant for us!

Internetaccess is slow, but sometimes available.

Food on the table is only for hostal guests and for breakfast.
If you leave food there for others (how it can happen), than the owner treats it like HIS food, because you left it in his house!!!
Again very unpleasant and unsual for us as travellers/overlanders!!!

Report Check-In

Nice place and friendly hosts, but very expensive! 20000CLP for 2 persons and a small campervan, use of the house and kitchen was included, but the campsite itself was very basic.
Beautiful place, but in our opinion, not worth 20000CLP!
Also, the gps-coordinates are wrong, you have to leave the main road at the sign of camping lif-ko.

Just nice and clean. Maca is fantastic host and a very good cook. The other comments fit my expiriences.

We stayed here for 5 nights in June when all other campsites around Pucon were closed. Amazing place, perfect set up for a camper and excellent value. Lovely fully equipped kitchen and super clean bathroom with very hot water. Peter and Magda were fantastic hosts, and I only wish that I spoke more Spanish so I could have talked with Magda more. If you are going to Pucon stay here! Copita the dog is a real cutie, we would like to have stolen her to live in the camper with us! iOverlander won't allow me to give this place 5 stars, but it's 100% a five star place.

Beautiful relaxing, fully functional campsite. Owners very welcoming. Also have a nice hostal. On the banks of a river with lots of wildlife, and good view on the active Volcan Villarica at night. Stayed 3 nights, 5,000 pppn. Worth the drive slightly out of town.

Stayed here for one night. Great spot, nice owner. Nice common room with firestove and kitchen, hot bathtub!!, rooms in the house available including the breakfast. Great value for money, even without internet. (But it will be available for the next season, as the owner said). There is also a lovely cabin available. Prices as said in the comment before

Great spot to camp - one of the best we've found in Chile! For $5,000 pppn you're free to use the beautiful hostel kitchen and shared space. The showers/baños are super-clean, and a laundry service is available for $5,000 per load. Make sure you check out the beautiful river at the foot of Peter's property...and have a barbecue during your stay! There are lots of great walks in the area - we'd recommend the climb up Volcán Quetrupillán, the El Cañi hike and the Los Lagos trail in the NP to the north-east. All in all a wonderful spot - Peter is super-helpful, and a great host.

The place looks gorgeous, but nobody was there. No sign which gives you more information whether you may pull in and set up camp, or whether the campground is closed. We also tried to reach the owner by phone, but number which we found on the website (backpackerschile) didn't work. A pitty!

On the road from Junin to Pucon. Exceptional charming , everything perfect. Camping and hostel with kitchen and dining room. As described above.

Report Check-In

Awesome spot right by the river in Palguin to escape the madness of Pucon during high season. Able to use hostel kitchen and hang out in the hostel common area. Buses go in and out of Pucon but we had a car so not a massive issue for us. CP5,000pp. Rooms in the hostel are also rally nice. If using maps.me just keep driving after the mark on the map (less than 5mins)!and you will see the sign to turn off
