Latest Check-Ins

This is a nice place to spend the night if your passing through. The camping is in a parking area that has 2 restaurants. We had supper and a few ice cold Corona's at the first restaurant and they allowed us to camp for no extra cost and use the wifi and electrical plug in to charge up our devices. There is a night watchman on the property which made us feel extra safe. We had coffee at the restaurant in the morning (the food here was excellent) and they were nice enough to put it in our travel mugs and we hit the road. You can see some video footage of the location on our YouTube channel Chris and Tovah's Amazing Adventures as we document our trip from Canada to Nicaragua, camping with our 2 bulldogs and our roof top tent.

As described previously in March 2022. We gave the watchman 50 pesos for a night boondocking in the parking lot. Right off the highway but traffic noise is minimal at night. Great views over Lake Malpaso.

we arrived at noon and asked permission to sleep in the parking. no problem but not enough security. 1 guard in 1st restaurant. they warned is for bandidos so we left

It's a multi restaurant car park next to a nice lake. Unsecured though there is a watchman at the first restaurant.

Ate at the second palapa shrimpsalad for 120 mx and was big enough for two people. beautiful sunset and a good night of sleep. fast wifi and tapwater available

Great place to eat, park and sleep. We did it at the “el patron” palapa. Al palapas close at around 5-5:30 pm so be sure to arrive early to be able to eat and watch the beautiful sunset. You can probably arrive at night and still be able to sleep in the parking, but would probably be a good idea to approach the “velador” (guy who takes care of the place at night) to ask him and maybe give him a tip to allow you to use the bathroom. We parked in the back next to the boat.
