AZ State Trust land. Arizona Open range area will sometimes be visited by cows, but otherwise mostly quiet with roads or trains in the distance. Cell coverage towards Picacho Peak gives me 2-3 bars with line-of-sight. Flat terrain made it easier to enter compared to other site down the road where I dragged my rear leaving road.
Marked as "camp two" on Google maps
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Very large flat area as soon as you enter. We have a 30ft rv so finding a large flat space is nice. Road and train noise is minimal. As previously reviewed this is public trust land so get your permit when you enter. There is a QR code on a sign. $15 and you can stay for 5 days. Free of glass, and cactus. Great for dogs with lots of space to roam.
Report Check-InNOT established camping. YES wild camping.
Report Check-InThis is not an established campground. This is wild camping. Nice flat area and a beautiful sunset
Report Check-InWanted to make it clear this is AZ state trust land and comes with its own rules and permit requirements for dispersed camping. further down the road it turns into BLM but make sure you have your state trust permit for this spot.
Report Check-Intried to find this place but theres a locked gate/no trespassing warnings blocking the road down to the spot. entry on the S Brady Pump rd at least
Report Check-InThis spot is ok, but lots of trash around in the gully that surrounds the spot. Better spots further down.
Report Check-InLots of choices around in this area. Pretty quiet with a little passing traffic. Three bars AT&T.
Report Check-InNice flat beautiful place to park. Just 2 miles off the highway. Very quiet.
Report Check-Innot too far off the highway. large dirt parking areas with great views. free!
Report Check-InThis place was a great find. We found it so quiet and the sunset was so beautiful.
There were several RVs here for night but it’s a very large place so we could be nicely spaced. Didn’t see any garbage where we were!
Just 12 minutes from Picacho State Park where we had hiked earlier.
Pulled in late and stayed in the first spot off the paved road — huge turnaround area for larger rigs. Quiet — could faintly hear train and cars but we ran white noise so it wasn’t bad at all. Coyotes howling & barking last night! Lots of spots to camp — great spot off Hwy 10 between Tucson & Phoenix. Would stop here again! Pretty mountain view in the morning!
Report Check-InThis is a somewhat OK LM site. It is very flat. However, you are either on red clay soil without any vegetation, or you are on vast swathes of currently dead grass over red clay soil. There is no sand, and there are zero rocks. We stayed one night but bolted the next morning knowing a cold front and 1/2" of rain were on the way. This was to become a quagmire of mud hours after we left. There were lots of other RV's the afternoon we pulled in and they were all still there the next morning when we left. There was not much trash around. In addition, noise from the road was minimal. I cannot recommend this BLM site to anyone, especially if they don't monitor the weather closely. I do imagine the grassy expanses are nice under the feet when they are seas of green, but keep in mind that makes this site very inappropriate for campfires. We do most of our cooking on open flames, so that also made it a no go for us.
Report Check-InGreat spot amongst the cacti and the vast expanse of desert 🏜️.
Quiet, dark and flat! No light pollution and beautiful sunsets.
Nice open camping. Easy to get to. There were four of us here this morning. It’s nice and quiet here with only an occasional car going by. Plenty of flat parking spaces. I drive a 22 foot class C, and had no trouble getting in or out.
Report Check-InGround is fairly level, especially the first 3 or 4 areas. The road going back into the desert can be a bit washed out (an RV lost their black water tank while we were here) so just be careful. Mostly quiet, you can hear a train in the distance occasionally and a few helicopters flew over head. Cars drive by every once in awhile, but we didn’t find it bothersome. Heard coyotes so watch your pets. I’m sure there will be snakes in the area in the warmer months. There were bullet shells and shotgun casings scattered around and one site was pretty trashed. Remember to pack it in, pack it out!
We enjoyed our two nights here. Warm sun during the day, cool nights. Beautiful night sky, sunrises and sunsets. 2-3 bars T-Mobile service.
Report Check-InLots of water on the street and places if its rainy, it is not quite, the trains are often, long and loud, the street noises are ok, dark, no services, no walk ways
Report Check-InClose to road and train but turned out to be a really nice spot. Level. Great view of the mountains. Some trash around as usual.
Report Check-InWow, very nice quiet place.
i recommend this spot.
Now I'm alone. Fantastic!
Good cell phone signal.
Nice view.
I was not supposed to stay, but i take an extra day here.
I camped right by the big saguaro. Good spot for tents or parking.
I can see a van and an RV, but plenty of extra space on a Saturday night.
There are train tracks in the distance and a nearby road, so there is some noise.
Report Check-InFlat quiet site easy to get into. Plenty of open space and 3 bars of Verizon. Coyotes at night and cows in the morning are my type of neighbors!
Report Check-InWonderful spot! Not far from my 10, far enough away from road noise. Beautiful views, lots of space. Easy on easy off. Sadly gun owners shoot things up for target practice, like TVs, then leave debris including glass sharp objects. So much for a responsible NRA.
Report Check-InSuper easy to find. Lots of places to park, which was good since there were a few other people camping. There were lots of empty shotgun shells where we set up camp (which we found in the morning light) but it was quiet while we were there.
Report Check-InSuper easy to find, paved road to a dirt drive. Parked in the first open area on the right. Gorgeous sunset tonight!
Report Check-InWould not recommend. Very barren and dusty. Worst boondocking spot we’ve seen. We got bad vibes and didn’t feel too safe here. Flat spots, but not much to see. Worth it to either go to the state park or head to a different boondocking spot.
Report Check-InLarge area with many spots to set up camp, fire rings at most sites. There was a fair amount of shooting until dusk and again first thing in the morning.
Report Check-InArizona Open range area will sometimes get you some guests (moo), but otherwise mostly quiet with roads or trains in the distance. Cell coverage towards Picacho Peak gives me 2-3 bars with line-of-sight. Flat terrain made it easier to enter compared to other site down the road where I dragged my rear leaving road.
