Description

We ask the people who work here and to the night guard if we can park our rv on the grassy area near their office and they say it's ok.
So we were on place and we took the tour early in the morning at 07.00 am.
We paid 1600 pesos for 7 with the entrance.
We were the first on the site at 08.00 and the only one during 2 hours.
It was a so great experience in family
The night was quiet, safe, and free.

We first checked with the hotel, but the spots they offered were not really flat or had too much tree obstruction for our Starlink. We then parked next to the tour office - the guys there were very interested in our rig and asked a ton of questions. We paid 1,200 peso for the lancha ride the next morning and camping was free. Bathroom was open during the night.

Arrived a little after 5pm. The tour office was closed but we camped next to the building anyway. It was a quiet night, felt safe. Lots of biting ants close to the building an a few sweet stray dogs. Paid for a lancha at 7am. Was quoted $1800 at first but the price dropped to $1200 quickly. Really enjoyed the boat ride and the ruins! Our favorite of all the ruins we saw in Mexico. We felt like Indiana Jones being there around 8:30am. Only saw 2 workers and 1 other tourist during our visit, but lots of lanchas loaded with people heading down the river when we returned around 10:30.

Note- don’t bring a tripod as they will not let you bring it into the ruins. Camera equipment is not allowed but they didn’t say anything about our Cannon camera.

Stayed here for free after booking the boat tour They ask for 1600 but drop to 1000 very quick for 2 people, probabaly can even haggle further.

Don't ask at the restaurant they try to charge 135pp for camping.

We did get a snack at the restaurant later to use their wifi and pool. The pool is pretty dirty though and the whole complex has seen better days.

Report Check-In

Payed 1000 p for the boat for three adults. Camping free. Good cell signal from Guatemala. The place is ok, a little muddy after rain and a smell of decaying corps breezing from time to time.
