Ecuador
Small port with restaurants and artisan shops. Large parking area with lights. Locals invited us to park in the gated area, closer to the shops, but the parking lot was more than enough for us. Well-lit but not overpowering. Very safe. Another local recommended here instead of the other spot East of here as it’s safer. Local ladies were fun to talk to. Follow the stone road to get here.

Very quiet at night (on a Wednesday), feels safe as it is in an indigenous community with very friendly people. If in case there is no water from the faucet and in the baños, then you can turn on the water at the main valve next to the blue water meter in front of ticket building (see foto). The shops are only open on Saturday and Sunday.
Report Check-InWe came here with our motorhome on a Friday night. The owner advised us to park next to the lake in order to get a great view for the sunrise ! it was beautiful indeed to sleep next to the big volcano in front of. A bit of people the day of Saturday but still a great place to be.
Report Check-InDormimos uma noite aqui. Super tranquilo. Restaurante bom e barato.
Report Check-InWe stopped here and were also invited to park close to the waterfront. They're still working on the dock and therefore there's little activity. Which also means there are no toilets available nearby. The public toilets at the soccer field were closed. We stayed for a bit and continued.
Report Check-InVery chill place to spend the night. They’re currently redoing the dock so there’s very little tourism, but there are a bunch of small shops and restaurants and the people are super friendly they even showed us where we could fill up on potable water. There’s no wifi at night but the cell service is very good.
We spend a really peaceful and quiet night direct by the lake. When we asked them if we could park in front of the "gate" they invited us to park with the lake view! see pics!
Report Check-InDecided to stay here as we were just going to arrive at sunset and leave early. Enjoyed some colada morada (warm smoothie) and cheese empanada at one of the little stalls. We were invited to park inside near the shops / dock in the morning. Friendly locals and good vibe.
