Trailhead for an awesome hike through the mountains and across the Crest via the San Bernardo canyon. We camped overnight at the trailhead and left our Vans here as well. Small town nearby has some supplies. Awesome hike.

Definitely not accessible
Maybe if you find a way past the advent camp, but definitely not the google maps way

We were so excited for this spot as the reviews all seemed amazing. We planned to camp and do the hike in the morning but unfortunately we couldn't reach the trailhead. Google maps took us through a small town called Las Tinas and tried to take us on a road that is blocked off with stones. We found another way through on a road that Google doesn't know exists which took us onto the dirt road up to the trailhead, but unfortunately right in the same area in Las Tinas the road was pretty washed out. I figured there was another way up, so we didn't brave it and instead turned around to try to get there crossing the riverbed at Boca de la Sierra instead as it looked passable on Google maps. Unfortunately this riverbed crossing is on private property and requires a reservation to access, presumably for guided tours up the mountain or similar. The sun was setting at this point so we left with our tails between our legs and drove back to San Jose before it got too dark. In hindsight I probably could have gotten through the washed out area in Las Tinas mentioned previously but I was not brave enough at the time because I assumed there was another way. There is no other way that I can tell. Somebody braver than me please try this spot again accessing through Las Tinas and update, we would love to try this spot on another trip! We are in a 2wd extended high top Promaster van. Lots of overhanging bushes etc. so we have some scratches to buff out but nothing major.

The upside is that there is a BEAUTIFUL little church with a blue dome roof on the way which we passed. Perfect photo opportunity.

Good luck and enjoy and please report back if you make it!

unable to access with 2WD van. one of the left turns marked by maps is incorrect because the land appears private so you have to make the left a hundred meters earlier. that section crosses a little water and had some mildly sketchy sand that we decided isn't worth risk with 2Wd. sure its beautiful - also note there is NO ACCESS by taking the paved road north then the bridge across as that is owned by the adventure company.

semi level spots for a couple rigs. Scenery is amazing. Hike is a combo of bouldering and cow trails. Founds plenty of swimming holes. Recommended
