We were a bit late (after 5pm) and gate was closed but there is a bell: Just ring it! Only a little part of this big and wonderful property is going to be sold.
Has a kitchen, pool, washing machine (5$), warm showers, clean toilets and nice owners! OK a bit more pricy than others (25$ + 2$ for kitchen use) but really safe and the pool is so refreshing after a long day - so definitely worth it!!

Amazing real camping area and cabanas. Swiss couple, super helpful and friendly. Very clean bathrooms, warm shower, very fast wifi all over the property and large pool. Stayed 2 nights, and I wish we could stay longer. There are forsale signs posted out front, but the sights and inferstructure are permanently set up for legit camping and cabanas and future expansion. A must stay location, WhatsApp the owners +506 8421 6519 in advance so they can open the gate to this secure Tropical Paradise.

The owners are not here atm.
The caretaker who you need to find at a local shop charged us $20USD and there is no phone reception. We realised after he left that the WiFi doesn't work either.
The place is not clean either.
If it is closed just say it's closed, it's no assistance to us to take our money and not provide any of the services advertised when we could of just gone elsewhere.
Pretty disappointed overall.

We are cyclist, and this place is absolutely perfect if you want to rest for couple of days. We planned to stay 2 nights, we ended up staying 4. 15$ per tent (7.50 per person) is more the resonnable if you enjoy well the shadow of the palm tree, the very refreshing swimming pool, and the nice place to chill around.
Big plus is the kindness of the host, Jorge has always a word to make you smile.
6$ for laundry, 1$ per day for the fridge, 2$per day for the stove.
perfect for couple of days of rest. if you just want to make a night stop, know that the beach a bit further is beautiful and looked safe for a night.

Our family, in our Camper thoroughly enjoyed the grass campsite. The bathroom area with toilet & shower & basins was immaculate, all finishings were top notch and always clean.
The use of the swimming pool is a huge bonus, always refreshing after a hot day and the area houses the kitchen area too so a very social communal area. Kitchen was well stocked with appliances & crockery/cutlery & spacious sitting areas to eat & relax.
We had reliable access to WIFI & in all areas of the property you can admire the Costa Rican wildlife & fruits.
Jorg & Inka are very hospitable hosts that brought us fruit from the garden & co-ordinated a turtle release with their local contact on Playa Bandera, a highlight of our travels in CR. They were more than willing to share their local knowledge, assist with booking, & even extended themselves for our family to enjoy a coffee with them prior to our departure.
It is this type of hospitality where people go over and beyond with such high standards for their property that make your stay so enjoyable & memorable.

Very nice campground, the owners are very friendly, but we where a little bit disappointed, we come here for 3 reasons, the washing machine, the swimming pool, the wifi. As we arrived, the owners said they will have a party with friends next to the swimming pool. So we hurry and go directly for a bath, the pool is very refreshing and you will not stay for long into. After there guest comes. Then we ask for the wifi and sadly it doesn't work at the camping area only near the pool! And after we ask for the washing machine and the lady said she as no time for us! So if you go there ask before if everything you need is available!

Un bijou 😍 L'un des plus agréables depuis bientôt 3 semaines que nous voyageons (4x4 avec tente sur toit). En route pour le parc Manuel Antonio, nous avons passé une nuit ici. Il s'agit d'un charmant petit camping. La végétation est belle et bien entretenue, l'endroit est très propre, sûr et calme. On y croise des oiseaux, des écureuils et même des petites grenouilles. Les toilettes et la douche sont propres et récentes. Le Wi-Fi efficace (7mo/sec). Et surtout, les propriétaires, suisses, sont adorables et nous ont donné de nombreux conseils et anecdotes sur la région et le pays. C'etait un plaisir de discuter avec eux. Merci pour l'accueil, vielen Dank 🇨🇭

We put a special action price, 2 Campers can stay for the night at the price of $ 15.- with full Service clean hot Shower, Urinal, Toilet, Electricity, Wifi all over, and great Water, a Swimming Pool & Poolkitchen. We also do have great offers for tours, that are far under Touristprices. And you are allways welcome at our house for a Cup of coffee! And get some fruits! It is a Paradise, very clean, nearly no moskitos, beachfleas, and aunts. Very well matained. Clean toilet, urinal, shower with fluent cold and hot water. Electricity all over Wifi. And end of December paved road outside, with fiber net Internet, very fast. There is also a wahsing machine, a very clean kitchen area with stove and grill, a big pool to swim in you can play waterball, and a band to do gym., a sofa, and tables and benches and chairs. There also is a Jacuzzi avalable. There are a lot of fruits you can taste, and there is allways a coffee or tea offered before you leave and sometimes even a snaps in the evening. It has a great fauna of all kinds of birds, sometimes 20 Macaws coming into the garden. Washbears, Rancoons. Joerg and Inka recomend great Restaurants nearby, Dentist, whatever you need, they are eger to help you, and also do know good hints for guides to the magrooves and many more.............it is a 15 min walk to the beach, where there are some round tables and benches, and a great Surf teacher, and a Turtle Sanctuary, where sometimes Turtleliberation happen.

Sehr schöner und sauberer Campingplatz. Absolut der schönste Platz in Costa Rica. Sicher und ohne Mücken, Strandflöhe und Ameisen. Nette hilfsbereite Eigner. A very bautiful clean Campersite, secure, with beautiful fauna, of all kinds of birds, washbears, rancoons, and macaws visitin. It is a Paradiese. They do have in the end of December 22 fiber net Internet, and the street is paved! There is electricity and portable water. All kinds of fruits in the garden, you are welcomened to taste. It is a 15 min footwalk to a beautiful beach with round tables. There is a very good surf teacher, and a turtlesaver, who once a while does Turtle liberation. There is clean toilets, shower with fluent cold and hot water, a washing mashine, and a kitchen area with a stove and grill. It is a great place all in all to a very adecuate price. And Joerg and Inka do all to help you out for going to Restaurant, Dentist, whatever. There is also a Jacuzzi avalable.

Nice campground, all gated and very safe. Open field, great for tents, camper vans, etc. A few meters to the clean washroom and shower. You can use a (shared) kitchen for cooking if needed. All looked good and clean. The owners are friendly. Great spot.

Excelente lugar para acampar en una zona aún virgen de Costa Rica. Acampamos aquí en nuestro RV Trailer durante 3 noches. Buen espacio para camping, baños en excelente estado y muy buena señal de wifi. Hermoso jardín con gran cantidad de aves, cercano a la playa. Jorg e Inka fueron muy buenos anfitriones.

Excellent place to camp in a still unspoiled area of Costa Rica. We camped here in our Travel Trailer for 3 nights. Good camping space, bathrooms in good condition, and excellent wifi signal. Beautiful garden with lots of birds, close to the beach. Jorg and Inka were great hosts.

We were a bit hesitant to go this place after reading the below review. However our experience was overall great! We were quite tired after two weeks of non-stop traveling and happy that we stopped here for two nights to relax. The garden is very beautiful and safe. Facilities were clean.
And our host, Juliet, was very kind and helpful. She made tea for us, offered freshly picked fruits from the garden. When we had a small problem with the shower, she has immediately solved it. Thanks a lot for the hospitality. Totally recommend this place.

I really don't leave many negative reviews. Especially not for places that are seemingly loved by other overlanders...
The road to get there is a bumpy dirt road but really nothing that should deter you when driving through Central America. We arrived at the place late (6PM) and nobody was there to open the gate. Not a problem as there where instructions posted on the gate for that case. So we looked for and found the grounds keeper Mario who was super friendly, opened the gate for us and showed us around.
Next morning a German lady introduced herself to us and it turned out the Swiss owners were in Europe at that time and she is watching the property. She mentioned that we and another couple were the first travelers in weeks. The grounds were nicely kept and the covered pool was also a great feature. The bathrooms were dirty though and the kitchen filthy. Trashcans hadn't been emptied for a while and smelled horrible. Anyways, we stayed two nights and were able to do our laundry which was nice. Van was parked under trees and close to bathrooms. Wifi at that area spotty but mostly okay. The German lady offered cash payment in USD or Colones or send her money via PayPal on our last day before we left. Couple of days later I received an unfriendly email where she stated it was "a bad deal" because of the exchange rate from my USD to her EUR account which I have zero control over. Further she mentioned that I burdened her with fees. I wasn't able to see any fees on my end but answered her email by offering to pay any missing fees in case I accidentally clicked anything wrong on my end... never heard anything back.
I thought a while if I should even write this review. Clearly other travelers had much better experiences with this place. Perhaps it's just that the actual owners were not there...?

We have just left after a wonderfully relaxed 3 night stay. Martino and his wife are looking after the place for the moment and were so welcoming and friendly, we had great chats and they offered to take us to the supermarket and beach so we wouldn't have to take our 4x4 tent down.
The campsite is spotless and has warm showers - what a luxury! The beach is a gentle 15 min walk away and really quiet with a great sunset.

Nice and clean green grassed flat spots for your tent. Friendly owners from Switzerland, who are happy to help you with anything you want. Checking out was very nice, was invited in the house, got some coffee, had a nice chat and made the payment. Felt really welcoming and relaxed. Sanitary is clean. No cooking facilities, but a nice restaurant Alma Marina at 10 min drive.

Very safe and clean place even for very large campers (ours is 10ft high and 24ft long). $25 the first night, from the second night $20. Dog 1$ per night extra. Very clean showers and toilets. An indoor pool with guest kitchen and lounge area, if you have enough of the mosquitoes. Jörg and Inka are very keen to make it nice for their guests and sometimes celebrate together. They have two female shepherd dogs that are very sharp. We didn't dare to leave our dog with them.

Excelente zona de camping. La infraestructura está en muy buen estado, Jorg e Inka junto con Mario (el jardinero) mantienen todo muy bien. Como puntos altos está las zonas compartidas (baños, cocina y piscina), la sombra para colocar la tienda de camping y la seguridad, todo el lugar está cercado y tienen cámaras en la entrada. La playa queda como 1 km del lugar, se recomienda ir en carro. El costo por noche es lo justo por todo lo que se ofrece.

Sin duda alguna, volveríamos a visitarlos.

Achtung an alle Globetrotter welche ihr Auto in San Jose im Zollfreilager überwintern möchten. Wir haben jetzt den 2 fall von Diebstahl im Zollfreilager. Es wurden alles verwertbare Geklaut und an den Fahrzeugen entstanden grosse schäden. Wenn ihr euer Auto überwintern wollt, kontrolliert ob alles dort sicher gelagert werden kann.

Very nice campsite on lawn with a lots of shade under the palm trees. You have a pool to cool down, a well equipped kitchen, a clean ablution block with warm shower, reliable and fast Wifi, a laundromat... And above all really friendly, welcoming and helpful hosts! Highly recommended!

Inka and Jörg are super friendly and helpful (They speak German, Spanish, English, Swiss, Italian and French!). The campsite was clean, save and we finally have clean laundry again 👌🏻 We stayed with our 4x4 with a rooftop tent and were abled to stay in the shade under the palmtrees. The kids enjoyed the pool. We spend 2 nights and the price was absolutely worth it. Danke Euch Inka und Jörg!

Nice place, cost was 30$ for 3 people. The pool was welcome because it was so incredibly hot during the day (cooled off in the night though for a good sleep. Nice clean bathrooms and the owners aare super super nice! Felt very welcome. The two guard dogs are super criendly and playful too! Recommended if its within your budget

We spent 1 night here, we paid 25$ for 2 people with our roof tent. This includes hot water, toilets, car washing if needed, water to fulfill the tank, swimming pool. We arrived late and we had to leave early so we did not enjoy the camping as we could do but the owners are very nice and helpful.

Perfect spot to relax a few days. For overlanders, here is everything you need. $20 p/n for 2 people and a small truck when staying for a few days is reasonable for the quality of camping with a few miles long beach within walking distance.

We do have one of the most beautyful beaches nearby,, 700 meters down the road. Pulperia is arround the Corner. Shopping facilities are nearby. Ask for the Turtle Action, or fruits of the trees.
We do have several shadow spots, we do have a seperate Toilet, Urinal and Shwoer House, with fluent hot and cold water, we do have a washing mashine, for 14 kg cloths, cost $ 5 washing powder addicional $ 1, you can have coffee in the morning, if desired one can also a very tasty Continental, American or Tico, breakfast $ 7.additional. We also do have a kittchen in the pool area, and a pleasant Swimmingpool. Gas for the day costs $ 2 addidional for grill or stove. There is dishsoap, and handsoap all over. There is also Toilettpaper, and dusbins all over. There is a Watertube to fill Water in the Watertank. There are two plugs at the Shower house to load the Cellphone ore Laptop. At the Swimmingpool Area there are also loadingpossibilieties. There is a caboard with dishes and cuttlery, cups and glasses. A pool shower with cold water for the pool. There is a beautytul wood table with wood benches to sit for eating or working whatever, an Van for cooling, 2 deckchairs, a frige if needed, and a toaster, We do have the fastest internet Nr. 10. There are Coconuts from the Garden, Star fruits, Bananas, Oranges, sometimes pinaple, Mangoes, Papaya, Nonifruits, Oregano, and many more. In the morning we often offer a cup of coffee. We cut reagulary the gras, and do moscito and aunt protection on the whole place. Price for one day is $ 25.- for two days $ 20.-
We do have a clinic nearby, a really good dentist. If you need a mechanic we can help you. Any other issue we are here to serve you! You are very welcome! Just ring the bell up at the Brown Gate.

Stayed here for 1 night. Paid 25 dollar for a car with rooftop tent and 2 people. A very nice place with a kitchen and even a swimming pool. Douche and toilet are clean. However, 25 dollar is to much. Use of the kitchen costs extra, so it's not included in the price. We arrived at 6 p.m. not using the swimming pool etc. Came along other campsites in Costa Rica, which were as good as/better for just 8-10 dollar pp pn. It's a nice place to spend a whole day, but asking just 15 dollar for people arriving late in the afternoon/evening would be better.

Nice place with a swimmingpool! This was really nice, because its very hot at this time of the year. Nice spot to rest and have a bit more luxury (hot shower, cooking area near the pool, camping between Palm trees). We paid $25 for a car with rooftop tent.

It is a great Camping Ground! Very clean, well mantined, with down cooled swiming pool, own Toilet, Urinal and Shower house with warm and cold water, for Campers, well protected ara though watchdog and electrical gate with fence. Not much bugs and aunts! Fruit trees and Palmtrees, big madow. Fast internet access, electricity avalable, water, avalable! Really great place when you want to calm down, relax and having a great time. Sea is nearby, and kiosk for beverage too, shopping facilities not far away, dentist and clinic too. Surrounded with a lot of parks. It is a bit hidden between many plants, not so easy to find. So watch out, when you drive down to Playa Bandera, after the clinic, there is a blue written Board to follow, all the street long though the palm haynes, attention: until there comes a long white wall left hand side, there you have to watch the other side, the right hand side of the street!!! There is a big red Gate, with a camperpost, Campersign on it. Then you arrived. Just in front of the street there is an other curve. When you passed the white wall, and there comes a church on the left side, and the curve comes nearer, and on the right side there is a big red house with a gabled roof, then you are allready gone to far!

Very neat and everything very clean. Pool was nice. 25 USD for the night with a campervan of 2 people. To use the kitchen it was 2 USD more.. spots where you park have no lights or plugs. Also, only two spots with shadow, the rest is under the sun.

Nice and quiet location. You park on a big grassy area, with some palms. Shower and toilets are very clean. You can use the nice and fresh indoor pool❄️! With 25US$ per car for one night and 20US$ per night for 2 or more nights, it’s rather expensive.

Great camping at Swiss Palmgarden. Sparkling clean bathroom and warm shower. Lovely pool in a breezy covered area. Beautiful gardens with many large trees and flowering shrubs. Hosts Inka and Jorge are very welcoming and friendly. Short bike ride to a long sandy beach. Paradise.

He said, it is a beautyful ara for Campers! Has a nice big garden. Very friendly hosts and owners, which recogmend places to visit, and help with many kind of question. Show places one could not see, and recogmend good restaurants. From here Dr. Linke went to a friend of them for horse riding. Very good recommandation, in the montain area, where he spends an other night. Dr. Linke wanted me to write this, he is not used to computerwork and any kind of web. pages. He stayed for two nights, Was very happy here.

Für alle die, die ein grösseres Wohnmobil haben als 4,20 Meter können wir trost zusprechen. Wir arbeiten daran das Tor auf 4,50 Meter zu erhöhen. Da wir gerade Arbeiter da haben, die an einem neuen Bungalow arbeiten, geht das im gleichen. Also bald wird es soweit sein dass auch dieses Maass möglich ist. Alles was darüber ist können wir leider nicht bedienen.

A large flat camping area with some shade, refreshing swimming pool beside a covered cooking area. great shower and new facilities being built/ planned. 10,000 for tent camping up to 2 people. extra if you cook on their gas!

We stayed at Swiss Palmgarden for 5 nights. Jörg and Inka helped as a lot and even organised a mechanic for our car. The place is lovely, with a nice pool and a lot of spaces to camp. We recommend the place highly.

Dear Campers, we are back in a couple of days. Just please be patient, we are back soon. In Costa Rica has been Nite giving a lot of troubles! That's why our swimming Pool could not be cleaned as fast. They had to mend for 3 weeks watertoubes. Electricity failed also for a long time. We are happy that our place keept clean and flodding was not so bad as in other places, thanks of having had enough shingles there. So we are glad when we are back, to do the rest of cleaning work that the storm left, and starting to build the toilets outside, for all our next guests. Soon there will be a second washing machine outside.

We arrived on a thursday afternoon and didn't know that the owners were in Switzerland the whole October. So we just talked to Mario who showed us the place which looked nice and has all as described. But according to the heavy rainfalls days before the Pool was not usable and Mario didn't have the permission to use the washingmachine (which we wanted to), so we decided to move on to Jaco (as there was a Lavanderia).

We are for a while absent! But even when we are not there, there is always somebody. When you ring the bell and nobody answers: Then you can call our gardener and housekeeper:

He is always at the pulperia (kiosk), is just after the bend 50 meters ahead. Attention he speaks just spanish. Just tell him you are Camper, then he knows. He will open up the property and show you everything. Gate has to be closed, all the time. Mario will let you go out and close everything again. The fee per night you can pay him right ahead. It is Colones 10'000 per car and two people. When there is one person it costs Colones 5'000.-. Rooms are not avalable from 1. of oct. till the end of october. We wish you a good stay and hope you enjoy the place. Who ever comes in November see you in November 2017.

There is a long term selling board outside. That does not mean the place is closed. It is open! In case the place get's sold, it just changes the Owner.

I definitely go along with previous positive entries. I came here for a second time on the way back from a visit to Osa Peninsula; I intended to stay 1 night and stayed for 6 – says everything! I especially enjoyed the refreshing pool and the nice gardens … and profited from the free WiFi and a good washing machine. The two beautiful Belgian Shepard watch dogs are well behaved and fine as soon as they know you and you know them. Inka and Joerg go out of their way to please their guests. They took me shopping and to the beach and gave me a lot of useful advice. One night we all went out for dinner together. The price of Col 10'000 is per vehicle with up to 2 people. For a single traveller like me it is pricey but if one decides to stay over a prolonged period of time, the fee is negotiable. For me it was clearly the best place in Costa Rica … as a Swiss I felt practically at home!

Inka & Jorg are very gracious hosts, and happy to share their beautiful property with overlanders. Amenities include the following: showers, toilets, swimming pool, fast wifi, and a beach within walking distance. They even arranged a boat tour for us through the mangroves where we saw many animals including white faced monkeys. This is a highly recommended stop for overland travelers. The gate height is 4.2 meters.

It is a very nice and secure Place with friendly Owner. We can use the Pool and the Garden. The two Dogs watch for us! There are Hot Showers and a Summerkitchen. Also we had a good Internet, elektric and Water. A good Place to relaxe!

Very large and secure area for camping with wonderful Swiss hosts. The covered pool area has a cooktop, dishwasher, large sink, and potable water. Flush toilet and hot shower is available in the attached home and a cold open shower is near the pool. Jorg and Inka are eager to host more overlanders and will expand their facilities if their property is frequented more. This property is large enough for large groups. The fresh mangoes are delicious. We paid 10,000C per night and were invited in each evening for coffee or tea. The gate is down the driveway from the house so ring the bell or follow the instructions posted in a previous check-in. They also host fly-in travelers so they may not be onsite. The Place is not permanetly closed! This is a lie!
When you come at the moment that people went shopping, then please go to the kiosk 200 meters furhter down and ask for mario. He can let you in. Just please think a little bit, and do not get frustrated. The people come back.

There is a sign for selling but it is a long term sign, as it stands on many places. This needs time. And when the place in some years is sold we would inform this page and people by itself. We are honest responsable people and let people not burn their bott!

this place is CLOSED. There's a big "for sale" sign, no signs of human life and owners don't pick up the phone. Neighbor confirmed lot is for sale.

to owners: if you're going through the trouble of advertising your place on I please take the time to delist it when no longer available. not cool.

We stayed for 2 nights. It was a great place to rest & plan for Panama & crossing to Columbia. The kids were able to play in the pool all day, it's shaded and the pool is cool enough to be refreshing! Wifi was fast! Lots of grass to run & play as well.

The swiss couple Inka & Jörg are nice hosts with two well educated dogs (Belgian Shepards). We enjoyed our stay here very much! Nice pool and good shower. Fast wifi. Quiet and lots of shade.
10'000 Col / 2 people with car.

There are rooms to rend, but only when they are not booked out!
The hosts are as friendly that when they do not have rooms, they recommend to other convinient places they no. They offer a lot of service. Somtimes the place looks like empty, but when the people who ordered the rooms come latly in the evening, please do understand, we do our best, and are welcoming all the nice people. When people get offended because there is no room free, and we even give them a hint where there is also a nice place to sleep, I am very sorry therefore with my whole heard! The streets in Costa Rica are what they are, we are waiting to get pavment. That will probable be in 2018 so god wants it to be! :-)

Wir sind ein Deutsch - Schweizerisches Ehepaar welches seit 2 Jahren Unterwegs ist mit einem Hymer Wohnmobil. Per Zufall sind wir auf den Swiss Palmgarden Camping in Parrita an der Playa Bandera gestoßen.
Wir wurden sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend empfangen auf einem wirklich bestens ausgerüsteten Platz mit Pool, Waschmaschine, Grill und einer wunderbaren warmen Dusche. Alles ist sehr sauber wie es in D oder der CH ist. Das Angebot hier ist die 10 000 Colonels wert. Wir bleiben noch ein paar Tage hier.

an der panamericana zwischen jaco und quepos ca 3 km ausserhalb der hauptachse richtung panama.
bei der feuerwehr ca 4 vor parrita rechts abbiegen an der klinik vorbei,nach 400m erste kurve rechts dann ca 800m durch einen palmenwald links. nach 400m rechts ca 300 m dann wieder links alles richtung playa bandera. immer der breiteren strasse ( schotter ) entlang bis ein grosses braunes holztor kommt. angeschrieben.... swiss camping. neu mit schwimmbad und bungalow sowie duschen und wc. sehr angenehm und sicher hier.

They are still building the place. The pool was not open, they didn't have toilets for campers yet. Unfortunately the lady was so unfriendly and charged us 20USD even though we didn't use electricity. It's actually a nice place, but overpriced.

The place of Inka and Jörg is really clean, comfortable and beautiful. We stayed in a room, while some friends slept in their camper in the garden. The pool area is covered by a mesh net, which very effectively holds moscitos away. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful, espedially in providing local support (veterinarean, best soda,..) We can fully recommend the swiss palm garden to campers and rentalcar travelers. Birgit and Henner from Germany

Place is to sell and even if the owner said it was full for the night, it was all empty and looked more like she did not want to accept us.
So no worth going there, as the road is bad and the area not that appealing!

Very nice stay! All day / night pool access.
After the first signs to the playa, at one crossing there is no sing for the playa but you have to turn right here(follow the more common road). After this, you will see the sign for the playa again. Price has increased to C 10.000 per night. But you can also use the BBQ on site for C 2.500. Very helpfull owner with a solution for everything and sharing free fresh out of the garden.

A site in process of getting set up. Swiss couple Inka and Jorg very friendly show you the property, shared free range eggs and tea at night. Very keen to have over landers at their place. Beach about 700m walk through a dirt road, nice pool and outside shower you can use. They have a nice toilet n showers inside the house which you can use before they go to bed and after 6 am. You can use laundry at 5usd if your washing powder. Two dogs on site. Priced at usd 15 per car/ couple. Follow the signs for Playa Bandera which are usually posted on trees.
