Something not right?

Description

Beautiful scenery. Not really flat but directly at the shore. Exposed to the wind and very visible from the road (there is nowhere to hide on this road). But there is literally no one up here. While big rigs can fit here I would not want to drive the road here with one. Especially northwards there are very steep and inclined sections. Officially the road here is 4x4 only and for safety reasons I would stick to that. Be very careful (or avoid completely) coming here when wet; the road will be muddy and slippery.

Great off-road track and great place for the night. Surrounded by Guanacos and we saw a puma in the morning. Be aware of the weather. We had quite much snow in the night. Plan ahead as you are totally alone up here!

What a stunning road! 4x4 for sure!!! All the same as mentioned in other reviews. If you like off-road, this is for you

Agree with the below, stunningly wild.

Seriously windy, but we were fine two up on our g/s motorbike north to south and in a tent for the night.

Take your time on the route, some really rough/slippy/steep patches, normally all three at the same time!

I’ve included a couple of route photos, bit like the Bolivian alti Plano but without the horrendous washboard. About two dozen mad hairpins at the north of the route; steep corners with gentle route between them, many currently almost grassed over.
