No issues with wind when we were here. Flying cockroaches came around dusk for about an hour, recommend cooking either before or after that. The park ranger seemed a little confused about people camping and said it was "dangerous" because of the animals. We stayed anyway. Park is $15 usd per person, only a couple trails were open at this time, not sure if park cost was worth it.
