Excellent place to camp off the Pan-American hwy. Quiet at night, clean banos, toilet seats, cold shower, and big sinks for washing dishes. Bring extension cord to plug in at banos building. Lights inside & outside banos building. Some shade around banos & edge of forest. Water is safe to drink. Big flat soccer field perfect for overlanders although they seem to prefer that we camp close to the banos building. Trees all around & nice breeze. WhatsApp the manager to let him know of your arrival date/time. Super friendly & helpful. We donated $20 for 2 people & totally worth it. We really enjoy this location! +507 6566 0310, photo of Olmedo, the manager and me.

Report Check-In

This place is by donation, very friendly family, they have 3 dogs, and there’s TONS of mango trees all over the property, they have 26 different varieties!! There’s a place to pitch your tent under a roof if it rains

Report Check-In

Lots of space, numerous showers and toilets, super quiet, easily accessible, nice managers, what else do you need?

Report Check-In

Great place as described before. We were the only ones, very calm and peaceful. And so much space! The family who takes care of the property is very friendly and welcoming.
We paid 10$ for 2 people and a van.

Report Check-In

Huge property. We camped right next to the bathrooms, in a huge open soccer field. We were the only ones camping. There was a summer camp taking place, so it was a little busy. Not too noisy by any means. It's really peaceful and not far from the highway. Cold showers were nice since it's hot and muggy here. It's dry season and it's still 52% humidity and 35*C or 95*F. There is s deep sink to wash clothes or dishes if you need to. The people here are very welcoming and kind. There are two phone numbers to call or you can honk and wait. Either one is ok. Great option since we don't really enjoy camping at gas stations and only try to do that as a last resort. They didn't ask for any payment, we gave $15 for three people for one night and they said it was more than sufficient. Definitely recommend staying here if you need to get off the road and are looking for a space to stretch out for a bit.

Report Check-In

Very friendly people & peaceful, quiet place to camp. Clean showers and toilets. Donated 10 USD (1 night, 2 persons, 1 tent). Thanks!

Report Check-In

We spent two nights here and they couldn’t have been more peaceful. We were greeted kindly when we arrived, then left completely alone the rest of the time. We were able to park right by the bathroom and showers, and a wonderful overhang that protected us from the rain. There was enough room for three chairs, our table, and an improvised dance floor. Oh, and an awesome deep sink for washing up. Cold showers. Everything clean and obviously taken care of. We walked down to the lake which is available for swimming. We didn’t use it because it drops off quickly for our little guy. Highly recommend. Donation-based. La Isleta right down the road is $20/night, so that is a good reference point (amenities are better here).

Report Check-In

Nice, quiet place at the moment.
Donated $15/night.

Report Check-In

A quiet spot near the Panamerican. Lovely hosts with electricity and a clean shower and bathroom. There’s also a washboard sink outside to hand wash laundry if you need to. Very hot during the day, though. Pay on donation but definitely worth $15/night.

Report Check-In

We stayed for one night and felt very welcome. Olmet and his wife are lovely. It's still on donation, we give them 10 USD for two persons one night in a van. Clean bathroom and electricity.

Report Check-In

Great place to pitch your tent or park your van to get off that highway and chill for a while! Set up a hammock by the lake, read a book, go for a swim…
We spent the night in our tent next to the shower block, super friendly ground keepers, quiet, clean… perfect!
Payment by donation (we have $5 for each here if us, that seemed very fair) not too many other options around and this was a great find.
Highly recommend

First Overlander in over a year they told me. A very,. friendly and welcoming place to this cyclist.
They have a sign with 4 phone numbers to call, or just honk your horn. In the rain I couldn't use my phone and no horn on my bike. I just called out and after a few minutes someone showed up.

Report Check-In

We had a night with a 24 feet. Super welcome, very nice bivouac.

Report Check-In

Quiet place to stay . Plenty of space for tents and RV . Showers , toilets , electricity and water . It's free to stay here .

Report Check-In

Olmedo received us and was really kind, we slept pretty good, cool and quiet night, we went for a walk to the lake and the forest, and our children were playing with the worker,s children. Next morning we had a wonderful shower before we left, we gave a small donation even they do not ask for any, but was worth it to sleep here!!!

Report Check-In

sadly no one around for more than two hours, so I continued cycling.

Report Check-In

Can’t recommend this place enough! We drove in just as a heavy rainstorm started, and was greeted by Olemar. We got to park under the roof with easy access to toilets and showers. Next morning we took a walk around the property and the lake. We were there in the midst of mango season, and got to pick some for breakfast. Friendly owners and a great place to stay the night.

Report Check-In

The managers of the place have changed, it is now Olmedo and Cindy who run the place.
Except from that everything is as described: every traveller is welcome, you can get a shower, baños, a sink... and there are tons of mangos.
Not sure about the wifi, we didn't ask for it. Very quiet place, and fresh enough.
We enjoyed it a lot!
We recommend donating a bit as a thank you.

On recommande l’endroit 👍

Report Check-In

Just great... all as described before. Hoping this place will be open even when Heinz is retired...

Report Check-In

very friendly spot with lots of space. toilets, showers, electricity, soccer field, basketball. we donated $12.

Report Check-In

Erika and her husband are nice people. The atmosphere of the campground is very calm especially setting up your tent near the pond or sleeping under a patio if you want out of the rain showers. Dogs weren’t any issue. If you can wake up early in the morning to enjoy sitting on their patio in the rocking chairs and watch tans listen to all the birds. Erika also had showers and a place to even do laundry. This was a great place to stay.

Report Check-In

Drove up and honked horn. Nice sign with iOverlander logo at gate, so you know you are in the right place. Shown where to park on lawn near cafeteria by maintenance guy, very nice. Thought we'd be here for a day, turned into many days as they let us move under the main church palapa where we worked on readying our vehicles for shipping. Perfect place to be during the frequent rain storms. Also just 20 minutes to town of Santiago where we went multiple times for truck repairs and groceries. They recommended $3 per person or whatever donation we could do. One blonde dog there that was aggressive, two nice ones, and we chatted with the grounds people often. Great hike around the lake with the kids as well.

Report Check-In

that is a very nice and beautiful place to stay. Very nice people. telephone 0050766351942

Report Check-In

Excelente lugar, la gente es muy amable prácticamente tiene todos los servicios, menos internet, lo mejor es que solo es una donación, pero sin duda una gran opción si te queda de paso. Podrás descansar y trabajar muy a gusto.

Report Check-In

Nice place. We camped right next to the owners house. Owners are very nice and accommodating. Clean restroom and shower. Shaded palapa with electricity.

Report Check-In

Erika and Heinz are such welcoming and warm hosts! We could wash our clothes here, Erika gave us some typical (and missed) european bread and Heinz showed us around their lake. The toilet and shower were super clean, we could also plug in our car and use a kind of palapa style building to sit and cook. As said before its free, but a donation should be given considering this nice hosts and services they offer! If the gate is closed besides the sign you see, honk as mentioned on the sign, even if nobody opens there is always somebody home. Erika and Heinz are the last building on the right by the lake.

Report Check-In

this place is awesome! the owners are as nice as everyone says and the space is great to camp and is especially nice for those traveling with dogs. there is a ton of space for them to run and play and the resident dog is nice. they hooked us up with power and water and all for free. please let's all give a donation. we don't want to lose this spot for other overlanders!

Report Check-In

Excelent place to spend more than one night, we stayed only one because we had people to meet in Panama City but Erika and Jaime were super welcoming, they showed us were the restroom shower, water were and left us in their property by ourselves because they had a meeting. It was really nice meeting them super nice!

Report Check-In

A great place to stay halfway to Panama city, very friendly Swiss owners, lots if room for any size of rig. Temperatures will cool off somewhat at night.

Report Check-In

A great friendly place - for swiss: a place for a Brändy Dog game! =)

Report Check-In

Erika and Heinz are really welcoming.
They live there since over 20 years and have created a little paradise. The reforestation and the lake (repair finished) make it really to a little hide away if you like to relax a couple of days.
The offer electricity and spring water (own well).

The laundry is not an official service. Erika sometimes offers it to travelers (its her own washing machine)

Donations are appreciated to help to maintain the 20 hectars of property.

Report Check-In
