Report Check-In

It is forbidden to camp here! Use the other place a bit further down the road.

Report Check-In

At the original place, the park a sign says no camping. We drove a bit further down the lake and stayed at the dock. We spoke with a guy from the house at the hill and he thought it was ok to camp with our minivan. Some tents down on the beach. During the evening lots of fisherman. At night very quite. Lots of trash in the house. View is beautiful over the snowy mountains and the blue lake.

Beautiful sport with view on the lake. The gravel parking lot says camping is not allowed but we continued a bit further down the road to park near the abandoned house on the beach. No 4WD needed.
Very calm and quiet but without protection from the wind.

At the end of the road, in front of the lake. Beautiful view, quiet. We’ve been there where there were no wind and sun. We enjoyed 2 nights. Close from the center with shops and restaurants.

Open when we were there. Great open spot. A few locals fishing off the big rock. Unreal views. Such a relaxing spot after driving that horrendous stretch of road. The rodeo was on around the corner so we joined in but the music went on a bit into the night. One other couple sleeping in a car.

park is now fenced off. One can park beside the low wooden fence. I parked on the grass near the Gen. Carrera Lago sign. There's a boat launch 100m further that might be better

quiet night at the lake... theres a camping for tends first, but if you continuos the road until the end you will find a great spot at the beach... we swimming... even the lake was very cold! great experience!

A large field of grass with a beautiful view on the Lago General Carrera. Two fireplaces with wooden wind protection.

Report Check-In

Nice flat grassy spot by the lake with views of the mountains. A popular spot for locals who will stop with their families to swim in the lake. Very quiet at night.

Report Check-In

As described in previous reviews. Great spot, can fit all kinds of vehicles. Even has a dumpster so use it for your trash, including toilet paper. Will help us all enjoy the view...

The best quiet spot before Puerto Rio Tranquilo ! Spacious area front of the beach (nice view) with camp fires and lovely chicken.

Report Check-In

Nice view on the lake and quiet. We were with other campers. Wind protection ok. Fire spot available.
It was raining so we cooked inside the tourism office, very helpful !

Report Check-In

"City park" on the lake. Several sheltered fire pits and a dumpster. Arrived here at 8pm on a Saturday night and there was just one gentleman fishing in the lake. Had the place to ourselves all night excepts for chickens, roosters, horses and dogs which roamed free. Did hear some loud music from a nearby home (though it was Saturday night). Don't except to sleep in as the roosters and music started early in the morning. Otherwise a pretty decent place to spend the night with some shelter from the wind.

NOTE: Maps.me wants to take you a crazy way to get here because it thinks the main road doesn't go through, don't turn left off the road you entered town on (Colombia) just continue going straight pretty much till the end of the road and you will see the sign. The road turns to gravel which confuses maps.me.

Still a nice place. Some trash.. I recommend.

Great place for an overnight stay. We asked at the tourist information (very engaged and helpful) where we could get a shower. We were told that in the grey house right opposite the informal campground, showers should be available - for 1,500 CLP pp they offered us to use their private bathroom. Bit rustic but reasonably clean and hot! Entrance left hand side. Recommended.
