Description

Fantastic finding by the Lake Zirahuen! M$100. The service and food at the restaurant are divine. The Cuban owner, Sergio, is very friendly and the informal camping offers kayaks. Great lake view and swimming is possible. He appreciates if you have one or two meals at the restaurant. He has a bigger gate next to the cabanas, just stop at the restaurant and ask them to open it for you.

Latest Check-Ins

The place has no service, not even toilets.
We moved on, but if someone does not need a toilet is possible here.

Report Check-In

The place is really very nice at the beach. But 200 Pesos for toilets is too much. No electricity, no showers, no water, no dumping. And no WiFi!

We have been here a couple days and I must add, the animals here are in deplorable living conditions. Muddy cages, no food, no water ( bunnies, cavies, pig and a even a large dog) I tried to load some photos of the campsite area (very nice) and lake, maybe they will post up later. The bathrooms have toilets with no seats. Showers were never offered or located. No one talked to us in our time there. While walking along the lake towards town we found a large, public beach area with flat parking and shade. Free. Just an option to look at.

Found this as we were seeking a place to use the stand-up board. Easy run to Santa Clara to look at copper. 1.5 miles to Zirahuen. This restaurant is only open weekends. Sergio (owner) not so warm and friendly, but the helper is sweet. Can park near bungalows or near "beach". Both grassy and limited shade. Loads of room for tents or a few rigs Paid $150p for 2 persons with no hookups. More for extension cord. Bathrooms work. Road noise is there. Could get in here with almost anything, but the narrow gate may limit it (10 ft wide) MUST use gate near cabanas.

A great place. First wanted to charge M$150 but did a deal at M$100. Super friendly guys, could t do enough for us. They pushed a bit for you to eat in the restaurant, but the service was brilliant. Fetched firewood for us and didn't charge anything. Would have brought drinks to the van if we'd wanted. Beers M$25, mains M$80-M$120, appetisers M$30+. Food was great, we shared a regional dish costing M$30 and it was enough for us for dinner!Quite noisy around 5:30am as there were lots of trucks driving past but by 6:30am they had all but gone. Toilets for the restaurant available all night as the place is left open. Beautiful setting by the lake. Recommend this place.
