A flat spot to spent the night. Wind is easing in the night, so you can enjoy the stars.

We stayed overnight. A lot of wind by the end of the day, probably caused by the approaching storm. No wind at all during the night and in the morning. Stunning view of the salar and the Tebenquicho vulcan, which was almost without snow at its top when we arrived and completely white the morning after. Awesome spot. No infrastructure. No cars during the night. Absolutely silent. We loved it.
⚠️ We reiterate the warnings of others: the roads are full of sharp stones, sandy pits and many, many (did I mention many?) washboards ("carabinas", as the locals call them), which can make the trip really slow and boring. We also recommend a vehicle with a good ground clearance and 4wd, specially during the rainy season (December).
We didn't spend the night here, but the landscape from here to the Salar de Antofalla is really wonderful!
⚠️This path to Cono de Arita is not easy for any car: quite steep, with stones and sand. We do not need to use 4x4, but we recommend high cars for this stretch.
_______
Best overnight place between Antofalla and Cono de Arita if you want to sleep below 4000m. Big open flat space with nice views.
