Description

In addition to being a hostel, this place hosts work-away volunteers, Donkey Sunrise accepts overlanders. Plenty of space for vans up to 6 meters length, but you’ll want to come in from the north off the main highway. 100 meters or so after the road splits to La Union (stay left on the main highway), look for the little off-ramp just before the little bridge at KM 91. The black gate with a big white panel and logo, if shut, is easy to see. Otherwise turn East opposite Parque San Luis. Plenty of room for multiple rigs. No low branches but you might have to maneuver around small individual trees and bushes in the yard. Easy enough for us in full-size US truck with pop top camper. Hot showers, motorbike and mountain bike rentals. Paragliding available nearby (Valle Fe Cauca is a world-famous XC paragliding destination). Super friendly host and some meals can be taken - just let them know in the AM if you’re interested.

awesome incredible hostel and camp ground ran by Tim and Esa, and their family come for the family like atmosphere and stay for the gourmet food, great friendship and tour advice. I stayed about a week. Tim gave a sweet gpx that got me around the coffee district. lots of bikes passing through. don't miss this on your way north or south.

Amazing overlander hub with a hostel, beautiful garden for camping and delicious cooked meals available. The area is great for exploring on a motorbike and the local town is cool too.

Great place to stay a few days. I stayed in the campground with my motorcycle. Lots of trees and other plants so it feels like you're in the jungle.

You'll almost certainly meet other travelers.

Loved the facility and the hosts. I plan to go back in a few months on my return trip.

Nightly price for camping is COP35,000, which is more in line with a hotel room, but you're paying for the experience and atmosphere here.

Great place to camp for awhile. They have water, electricity, beers, food and hot sowers. The owners parents and Sophia were taking care of everything! There is room for several campers, we fit in with a high top transit. Per night it was 50 for two. We also did laundry for a little more. If you want to paraglide they will also hook you up!

Warm clean showers, cozy meeting place, games, cold beer and can possibly serve food.
Walking distance from a small cute village and 5 minutes drive from La Uniun where you can buy everything.

private room $120.000-180.000
dorm $50.000
They also rent out small enduro bike and mountainbikes if you want to discover the dirt in the mountains and organize paragliding trips for little money!
Great vibe and can definitely recommend this place!!!

The place is open again. Tim and his wife opened up the place after COVID and it looks really nice. They organised a mountainbike rental for us (without guide!) and we loved it. Because Tim and his wife planted a lot of trees it is only accessible with smaller rigs! The really big rigs don’t fit any more. We highly recommend this Overlanding spot. Tim and his wife are very welcoming and lovely!

They never answered our WhatsApp messages. Stopped by to a locked gate and no answer. I think they’re closed again..

Super nice hidden campsite which is very well maintained. 35k for a night with two persons. Additional 10k pp if you want breakfast, breakfast was very good. Warm rain shower and clean bathroom. They let us use a bathroom of one of the rooms they have. And we could use the laundry machine for 15k. Definitely recommend this place.

I was the first camper since the Pandemic hit which is great news for travellers.
It's a great spot for camping - lots of space and places to sit and relax.
The swimming pool mentioned is now a part of the neighbours, still available but costs extra.

In fairness I can't comment on all the facilities since they opened up for me but they're busy getting everything ready again.

It's an incredibly comfortable place and Tim, the owner, is a welcoming character with lots of local knowledge.

He can organise tours on motorbikes and MTBs too.

Tim can be Whatsapped on +57 310 2577385

They have some meals to offer and cold drinks in the fridge. There is a Small shop around the corner selling basic provisions. A nice spot to stay, plus they do adventure activities .
