Description

Conveniently located next to Puma garage and amazingly well-stocked general store/cafe/curio shop. N$121 pppn sites are on red sand and each has a shaded seating area with table & stools and adjacent braai area with sinks and running water. They also have a shaded 'garage' area for vehicles up to approx 2m high with a viewing platform/veranda above. Elec points are available but are shared between 4 sites and are not conveniently placed. Shared ablutions are functional (a little fly-blown) and water is hot. Staff are extremely friendly and the store sells ice cream and milkshakes. Self-catering chalets/bungalows also available. Also B&B & Dinner rate of N$450 (not tried). Site is flat and can be very windy. Trips available from nearby working farm. Very good value for money.

New campsites are very nice. Although the setting isn't as nice as some campsites, I'd say the facilities absolutely make it worth 250. Plenty shade, and wind protection that makes it feasible to cowboy camp if that's your thing (it is for me).

Report Check-In

Price is now 250pppn because they have built a "new" campsite with more space/privacy. All self contained units. No swimming pool. Definitely too pricey for us for what you get. Wifi still costs, no mtc signal. We bought some orynx mince and left.

Report Check-In

The unique shaded rest camp is gone - a pity because it was the character of this village! Now there is some construction going on - it said to become a big restaurant?!
There are some new campsites behind the shop - 250 N$ without shade

Report Check-In

The price is now 250ppn! Very unfriendly owner.
I tried to negotiate, because we were the only guests and it was low season. The lady turned her back on me, went to her office and closed the door.
Wifi is extra to pay!
Each site has now its own abolution, but no toilettpaper, no soap and the shower had very low waterpressure, I hardly could rinse the shampoo out of my hair.
After a heavy thunderstorm the abolution was flooded and I had to push out the water myselfe.
There is a roof, where one is supposed to park the car, but higher cars or RRT will not fit under it, so now shadow!
It is like parking next to a little house, not very nice.
So no recommandation any more, better sleep somewhere else.

Now the feed is 150 pp.
WiFi only by Voucher: 20 MB 20 $
50 MB 55 $

Report Check-In

The campspots are very nice, with enough shade and a picknick table. Clean toilets and hot showers. Little shop, nice cakes but the bread wasn't fresh. There was petrol available when we were there. WiFi costs 55 nad for 500 mb.
We had a delicious lasagna, you have to order it in advance if you want to have dinner. Most of the staff was not very friendly unfortunately...

Report Check-In

Stopover for lunch. Lovely place, very clean, good food.

Report Check-In

super lovely campsite where each spot have a stair up to an upper deck where one can chill with a better view. there's one of these above the bar house with a lovely view to the oryx enclosure and the valley beyond. shop and restaurant closes at 17, so don't come too late to get the best out of this place!

This place is in wrong location - it is located at -25.38213, 16.42358

Oryx steak was better than the Oryx burger I though and even had one for Breakfast
Milkshake was awesome.
Wifi not the best.
Good amount of French press coffee.
Cloths washed at very good price $80 for 2 carrier bags.
Manager was lovely and please consider the work hours/load she does.
Staff were very friendly.
Night sky was amazing.

Report Check-In

Nice place like the previous said, we arrived late, the Restaurant was closed 😕. 140 p. P. Camping

Report Check-In

Lovely campsite with shade for car or tent. Braai area and picnic area built into the camsite but a bit awkward as there is no openings in the wall, resulting a walkaround.
Only signal is at reception. Wifi available at a $50 connection fee.
No pool.

Report Check-In

N$ 420 for 2 adults and 2 kids, very cheap laundry. Each pitch has its own shelter, table and car port, which aren’t big enough for a roof tent. Ablutions we’re clean, mens we’re a bit smelly. Fuel available, and a small shop. Good place for a stop over

Report Check-In

121 n pppn. Own seating area, sink, braii and lots of shade, shadey place to park the car if you need (not usable for roof tents though). Did get very windy late afternoon. Shop and restaurant (didn't try or buy anything though). Petrol station if needed. Shared ablutions. Great for the price!

Report Check-In

Situated in the middle of the desert. It was very windy when we arrived. Like the days before the wind was gone after sundown. We were the only guests so we parked our rooftoptents beside one of the lodges.
We ate an Oryx burger at the restaurant which was very good.

N$363 for two adults and two children.

Report Check-In

Awesome place for night.
Each site with power, sink, very good shade and picnic table.
Laundry for us was supe fast 3 hours in the morning. 2 weeks of laundry was 90 dollars (very cheap).

Report Check-In

We loved that place so much that we stayed 2 nights. It was 121pppn. Only thing is that WiFi costs extra (50$ for 500MB).
The Oryx Burgers and the Game fillet (also Oryx) is very delicious. The camping ground is well setted up. Nice shade for the car. Shade with a bench for you, braai.

Report Check-In

still 121 pppn, 50 for 500mb wifi, 30-50 for laundry, we liked it and stayed 2 nights

Report Check-In

We filled up the tank at the patrol station and had a coffee and a muffin at the nice restaurant, green grass and nice garden. There is a campsite too, looks clean and there is enough shade at sites, camping is only $N121 p.p.p.n.
They sell some things in the little shop but no veggies and fresh stuff.
Nice place for a break!

Report Check-In

Small campsite near petrol station with shop and snackbar. Sites have each a shaded picknick table and a balcony on top. Electricity at each site. Wifi at the snackbar.

Report Check-In

very nice campsite, quiet Palace with a amazing sky. 121nd. internet, hot shower.

Report Check-In

Boonfamilyjourney | What a great place. After driving in the dust and heat this is just heaven to have a good coffee or ice cream. Internet worked very good at the restaurant. Didn’t stay overnight as we’re heading for Sossusvlei but all looked very well maintained.

Report Check-In

The little shop has oryx dried sausage and oryx burgers. Delicious! Also has water, ice creams, homemade biscuits.... lovely lady. Campsite here too. If driving past, definitely stop for a break.

Report Check-In

Nice and clean place. But the owner was not around when we were there. Therefore, no Wi-Fi working, no swimming pool, no water at night, which was fixed after we complained. No water in the morning, which was barely fixed after a few requests. There is a Oryx family that is kept for children take pictures next to it, but in the morning one escaped the fenced area and attacked my ground tent, punching it for several times. We felt the saying “enter at your own risk” applies there, since no real apologies were made.

Report Check-In

Very friendly staff and owner. There is wifi at the restaurant (500 MB free, more is 50$ for 500MB). There is a donkey shower. They will make a fire If you like to take a shower.

Report Check-In

Highly recommend this place!! we didn't stay as we are on bikes and the wind slowed us to much. However, we did stop here for a few hours and everyone was so kind. The camp's look really well set up, the food is delicious (home made bread to buy!) and the shop well stocked. We had a look in one of the rooms and it was beautiful. A super nice to rest for a while at the very least.

Report Check-In

Nice well maintained campsite and chalets. Nicely laid out garden all around as well

Report Check-In

Campsite for truckcamper also, the places are shaded with sitting place and table, electricity, dishwashing area.
The showers are hot everytime and clean, the toilet hasn't a key, but in Africa it is normal, you have to take that toilet, which door is open ! A small shop and restaurant where the offert little dishes.

Report Check-In

We were sleeping there because of the storm which caught us on the way to Sesriem. Campsite has designed places for car, table with benches, roof over it, light, well equipped shop, gas station, people helpful but:
- toilets with no lock inside so someone can easily interrupt you
- cold water in the shower no matter what time you decide to take it (my husband took a shower at night around 22, I took it in the morning 8-9am)
- in theory you are not suppose to connect your fridge with electricity- we did it and nothing happened
If you are ok with this inconvenience we can recommend that camping :)

Report Check-In

nice place, all sites have a bbq area, table and benches, a sink, electricity. cheap compared to other places in the area. 121N$ pppn.

Report Check-In

Nice place. Hard ground to set the tent, sandy, but shelter and cool installations. New price for camping: 121N pp per night. After 17 hot shower.

Report Check-In

Paid 242 NAD for 2 persons with car and tent.

Report Check-In

So was at the reception trying to get some MTC signal going early in the morning as I wildcamped near by at night when a sand storm hit the place and the started rain.
Someone paid me a room out of pity.
Rooms are very expensive:506 for one person and 418 per person for two people or more.
For the price you paid it should be spotless but there basin was covered in sand (sandstorm right?) there was no toilet paper and had to fetch it. Lights didn’t work. Only only plug point. The room and the toilet and shower are an open space so if you’re a couple you better like the stink of your partner’s dump.
Shower looked fun but no joy it was cold. A lady come at 5pm to light a fire to heat the water she said it was a very cold day so it would take an hour to get hot. Waited and waited but the water was barely lukewarm surely not enough to shower on a freezing day.
Anyway went to the reception to ask for advise but they had closed shop and disappeared already. I guess no joy after 6pm. There were many unhappy people that paid a hefty price for the room tonight. Even they were not my money I still feel ripped off. If can avoid.
As per the camp spot are not designed for tent campers so you better be in a lucky day with no wind or just wildcamp at the place close by I’ve reviewed you’d save 110 or 506.

There is no MTC other than at reception. It’s also only edge and very slow. Whatapp barely working.

Report Check-In

The place is great and the owner was happy and helpful. We felt safe and good there. The woman told us that it was a night for shooting stars, and it was true, we had a beautiful sky that was really clear. 110pppn, showers are ok, but it hot in the morning cause it’s a donkey shower, and the fire was not yet done. Definitely a good place to stop and overnight, even if the place is still under construction.

Report Check-In

Shop at least is cash only. Better choice than both Solitaire and Sesriem. Canned beans 30 Namibian Dollars

Report Check-In

Like described by others. Very windy but the low stone walls help a lot. The place has little character but has all the facilities you need. Ablutions need some maintenance but are clean. They serve some simple but great tasting dishes at dinner. Still 110 N$.
Next to working farm so quite industrious in the early morning.

Report Check-In

Very well equipped sites, each has a little stone wall which helps to block the wind, plus everything else you could expect, and a viewing platform (though you mostly just see the surrounding farm). Ablutions are spotless. Shop has plenty of treats and supplies. N$110 pp.

Report Check-In

Well maintained campsite, very clean ablution and nice staff. Now 110 ppn, children half price.

Report Check-In

Pretty much exactly as below but prices are 100N$ per person per night and electricity at each campsite. Very windy! Shop still there selling pies, drinks and food which ranges from 40-100N$ including milkshakes and cake for about 35N$. MUCH better value than the camp sites at Duwisib!
