Latest Check-Ins

The camp was quite a letdown for us, unfortunately. We were really looking forward to this campsite after having read previous comments. The pool was empty, so there was no chance to cool off in the summer heat. The food and service at the cafe and bakery were OK, but nothing more. 'Famous apple pie' is not as it used to be and as can be expected in the desert, quite a number of things on the menu were not available. Too bad they don't sell braai packs and we were not clever enough to check if they have them in the little shop by the fuel station. Campsites are big, and with a nice view, perfect place to braai. Starry nights here are amazing.

Report Check-In

A real Oasis in the desert. Nice sites as described below. 195pppn. Lovely swimming pool with sunbeds. Good restaurant, ok WiFi (not at the campsite), awesome bakery, little shop. The street from here to Sesriem is partly in bad condition. Better take your time if you don't want to convert your car in a pinball.

Report Check-In

It's now 200N$ pppn. The campsite are huge, way to much for only a small tent and two bicycles. We wanted to negotiate but the manager never showed up. Free WiFi at the restaurant.

Report Check-In

Nothing special, but a nice enough campsite with clean ablutions. Ask at the café next to the petrol station, they can book you in and provide access.

Report Check-In

This was an amazing place in the middle of nowhere ! 😁

Price is still 150ppn. Bakery with very good stuff, bar and restaurant with coooooold beer.

Campsite 9 has the perfect view for the sunset.

Everything is well maintained, great shower. Very nice experience.

Report Check-In

A treasure place in the desert! One of the most scenic places between Walvis Bay and Sesriem!
Excellent bakery, restaurant for breakfast, lunch & dinner! Very clean small pool to cool down! A good place to relax a couple of days in the desert!

Report Check-In

An oasis in the desert. Great place with all

Report Check-In

Nice campsite with clean abulutions. It is need to taste the apple pie in the restaurant. Beautiful sunrise and sunset. Busy in the daytime, calm in the evening and night.

Report Check-In

Very nice campground with amazing view and sunset. Shade on every campsite, braai, water and electricity. Shared toilets and shower. I found it nice enough. OK wifi at the restaurant. Nice little shop.
Friendly staff. 150 NAD pp.

Report Check-In

Amazing view, clean ablutions, free fast internet. We got charged N$150 per adult and he let the kids stay for free. Cafe was shut, limited food options in the shop. Tasty snacks. Swimming pool empty due to the water shortage. Great place for a stop over.

Report Check-In

Nice and shady campsite.
Ablutions not so great.
Pool available.
limited cellphone signal and no wifi.

Report Check-In

150 n pppn, shady campsites, water, electricity and braiis. Shared ablutions fairly clean (showers have no doors and a semi see through curtain). Shop seemed to have a good variety of things, also a cafe/restaurant and a petrol station. Only issue is the amount of flies around the Campsite which is a pain. Owner seemed very nice contrary to some other comments.

Report Check-In

Surprisingly pleasant campsite with power, braai, water in each camping spot and shade lapa in some of the spots. Hot shower and clean toilets. MTC mobile internet in the area. Great swimming pool at the lodge. Nice easy 4km walking trail leads you to some large weaver nests and gives you beautiful view of surrounding mountains. Owner not very friendly, passed through us at the pool just to ask if we were at the campsite without even saying hello and turning his back on us after we answered him.

Report Check-In

we were the only visitors of the campsite so it was nice and quiet. sites are perfect, we could choose whichever we wanted. it's next to the road but didn't see a car pass after sunset. nice views.

Report Check-In

Nice campsite. 150 pp/pn.
Site itself with brai, shade, and water tap.
Ablution ok, not clean enough. Shower is great with hot water. We couldn't find sink to wash dishes.
Swimming pool is wonderful.
There is also fuel station, great bakery with fresh bread and small curio shop and very good Appel pay.
They take card payment.

Report Check-In

Nice place without a fence. So we were visited by a hyena at night searching for food. (Was Not a problem in our car)
Campsites have braai, water, electricity.
Payed 150pppn. WiFi is free.
Nice bakery shop, fuel station, cafe.

Report Check-In

Very tidy and good shady Sandy site with electricity, Braai and water tap. There is a well provisioned shop and bakery. MTC 3G on the weak side but works well. there is a nice and clean swimming pool and and large thatched area with sofas next to the restaurant. Paid 150NAD for 1 car and 1 person. Loved the deco with old automobiles and tractors. Ten views are beautiful too!

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

At this time, cyclists and motorcyclists free of charge for camping, others at 150 dollars , friendly staff and good restaurant, powerful and hot shower

Report Check-In

very nice campsite. portuguese owner dont charge cyclists. others pay 150nd. good bakery and restaurant. food swimming pool and pretty nice abolutions. solitaire is a pretty nice old school town.

Report Check-In

Price has been readjusted to 150n$ pppn. Special price for cyclists: 100n$. Good restaurant. Oryx in the camping at night. :-)

Report Check-In

Owner not so nice. Rooms in the lodge are ND 1400 pppn. We went to the Campsite which is quite expensive too: more than 200 pppn. It is a not so bad second plan in case you arrive late like us.

Report Check-In

large place very little shade, electricity and braai places nice restaurant but the ablution is not properly maintained. $ 200 ppn seems much to much. Restaurant $ 260 pp is also very expensive compared to other places.

Report Check-In

Drink a cup of coffee an eat a pie but forget camping. 200 pp and no shade and a empty pool. Obviously they don’t like camping anymore.
Wild Camp close by!

Report Check-In

Camping still available. Want $N150 pp. We paid $N200 for 2 as the night guard said that was the fee per auto. Pleasant place to camp. Quiet and the stars are amazing! The bakery goods have lost their yummy since the passing of Moose and are no longer worth the price. Great stopover in our rooftop.

Report Check-In

They begrudgingly let me camp because it was getting dark, but the campsite and lodge are officially closed. Not sure why or for how long. They still had staff on duty, the place was clean and the ablutions and electricity were working, but they didn't charge me anything. They would prefer you go to their guest farm 7km out of town.

Report Check-In

We had to stop here, because they have a garage, and we had to change a tyre at our Unimog ! They helped us very quickly and very cheap. Also they told us, that the Campsite is closed, because they are renovating it ! But if we could go not further, we can stay one night. That was very friendly !! But the young man talked to the Boss, and he phoned the Solitaire Guest Farm for us, and they had a place for us. The Guest Farm is 6-7Km away and VERY VERY Beautiful !!! Each Place has a seperat House with Toilet, Sink and Shower !! We stayed there 2 nights and it was wonderful . you can book breakfast and dinner - both were very basic and a little expensive. Anyway- Go to the Solitaire Guestfarm - if the Solitaire Campsite at the FillingStation is closed !!!

Report Check-In

Lodge renovating now--camp officially closed for regular camping, but let several cars camp in stormy weather, emergencies, to late to continue, etc. Ablutions working, but not all amenities available. Flat, sandy, braiis installed in confined area behind lodge--spacious but not very large. Everyone friendly and helpful.
NAD200 for car 2 persons.

Report Check-In

150 pppn, expensive! Electricity, braai and seating area. Water is cold!! Wifi paid at reception. Saving factor is the bakery next door! I wouldn't stay here unless doing an over night stop.

Report Check-In

Conveniently sited lodge and adjacent campsite on main road south towards Aus. Campsite behind garage/general store. Sandy plots with varying degrees of shade around toilet/shower block. Adequate and fairly priced at N$100pppn. Light, braai, picnic table and power socket and firewood at almost every site. Wifi available to buy from store - router is in the bar/restaurant - no coverage out to campsite - not purchased so internet speed not known. Bakery with apple pie to die for!
