Latest Check-Ins

Great place to hang out. 27$ for a room with private bathroom. Two campgrounds in the garden but very small. Parking for vans. No shade. Organize several activities. Town close by but nothing special. Some local restaurants with cheap good food.

Report Check-In

As previously described - one of those home-from-home places - came for a few days, ended up staying for 3 weeks to get a work project out of the way and take advantage of some of the local activities. Enjoyed the facilities, great attention to detail throughout, friendly staff, friendly cats, beautiful grounds, pleasant little village and lots of hiking, kayaking, cacao farm, birdwatching etc around. Food was very tasty and at $4 a night I had zero complaints!

Report Check-In

Stayed here, got a room with shared bathroom for 2 people for 18USD a night. Overlanding/Camping is 4USD pp a night
The place was packed so reservations may be needed if you wish for a room/bed/cabin

Report Check-In

Stayed for 5 nights to get some work done. $4 USD/pp. The place is dog friendly, and all the employees are super nice. The manager Daniel and owner Bobby (I hope I’m remembering his name correctly) are great guys as well.

The grassy lot does get hot fast, but it’s good for solar! 😉 plus you’ll want to be in the actual brewery/restaurant area during the day anyway. It’s 10 degrees cooler and BEAUTIFUL. Lots of attention to detail and the best showers we have had since entering Mexico. Seriously, those bathrooms are nice!

The food is pretty good, too. We are vegan and vegetarian, and even though there weren’t any 100% plant based dishes, they were able to make them vegan upon request. I even got a veggie pizza without cheese (sacrilegious, I know) because the crust looked so good, and it did not disappoint. We didn’t love the beer, but we definitely enjoyed a few pints of the pale ale and wheat beer, and the price is totally fair. Next time, we hope there’s a lager 🍺

Report Check-In

What an awesome stay! Decent beer, hammocks, delightful and clean toilets and showers and a fun atmosphere for meeting new people.
We were charged 88L for two people and a van. ( we think it’s a mistake but when we told him there was two people he said it was the same price as one. Ok!
Their registration system was down when we went to pay so the owner gifted us a beer for our inconvenience. Nice guy!

Be sure to rent a kayak in town (160 L) and cruise the canal out to the lake for a few hours. Great birdwatching too

Report Check-In

Wooow! For only 4$/person you get an amazing lodge experience. Brewery with bonfire at night. Amazing hot outdoor showers. Cleanest toilet since months...

Beer was not the best but ok. The camping are is just the parking lot but nice grassy area with some trees for shade.

Don't miss the hike to the viewpoint!

Report Check-In

Came for pints, food.
I only drink beer if I can find a craft so had to try.
Beautiful place, garden area and buildings if your staying. We did not as parking lot in the sun in the van didn’t seem inviting. We went up to Panacam across hwy (see post).
Had a decent lunch for sure, it was super busy there with locals as well as travelers like us.
I didn’t love the beer but to each there own.
Hands down the best beer I have had in 6months in Central America is in Honduras at Jungla brewing in Dan Pedro Sula.
Do not let this comment stop you from going to D&D brewing, good food, okay beer and LOVELY yard/facilities.

Report Check-In

Everybody who complains about this place never experienced overpriced dirty places for much more money. This is heaven!! Only 4 US$ per person and night, a quiet grassy field, clean toilets and warm showers (we loved the open top feeling in the showers with hearing the birds in the trees above!), very good food including the homemade Pizzas, nice and friendly staff, they don’t know you but you get your total bill at the end of your stay, also if you stay in the camping…. . Very fast internet in the restaurant, you can use it even without ordering anything and bring your own drinks (what we didn’t) comfortable chairs around a fire-place in the evening, Kayak-rental close bye. For sure one of the best places we have visited in Honduras, we stayed 3 nights.

Report Check-In

We don’t really understand where the mixed reviews of this place come from. For only 4 dollars pp you get what you pay for and maybe a little more. You can park on a large grassy area, use all the facilities of the hotel all day and night (toilet and hot showers) which are super clean and beautiful and be in the green yard of the hotel. The beer is good. For us it was the perfect stop over before crossing the border to Nicaragua.

Report Check-In

We spent three nights here. Perfect spot for overlanders who want to explore the bird life, lake and jungle hikes, all within walking distance of D&D. We were here during the dry season, but it rained here anyway one night and cooled things off. Not sure where any of the negative comments come from. We appreciated the sun for our solar and used the big tree on site and our awning for shade. D&D is spotless, the food and beer are good, and the camping costs are very reasonable at $4/adult/night. Would highly recommend! Wifi is fast but only available in the restaurant area

Report Check-In

I stayed in one of their room for 2 nights, which was reasonably affordable at $20/night. The room was nice, clean and had an actual hot shower.

But besides this, I really wasn’t impressed with this spot - and regret not staying further up the road at Biopark Paradise. At D&D, the Wi-Fi only works in the restaurant. The restaurant is usually very busy & loud, and honestly the food is pretty meh. The wait was also very long (1+ hour for a pizza), and the staff kind of always made me feel like I was bothering them. They were kinder to the Honduran patrons. They are doing a lot of construction currently as well, which is also a lot of loud power tools. The camping here is in a pretty uninspired dirt lot. If you have the chance keep going to Biopark unless you really need a hot shower.

Report Check-In

they asked me for 4$ for tent camping. Garden space and use of toilets, showers and WiFi. No cooking/fire facilities. The place is really nice but also really busy, since it's a cafe. I preferred to go somewhere else

Report Check-In

The D&D place is cool, beautiful gardens, but lots of mosquitoes. Perfectly clean toilets, very friendly people who can give you some advice on things to do in the area.

We didn't like the camping space too much. It gets really hot, really early in the morning because there is zero shade. We almost got stuck in the grassy/muddy field because of a nightly downpour. Maybe it's better in the dry season.

Report Check-In

can actually not understand the negative comments. yes, you have to us the parking space across the hotel- but this gives you much more space on big grassy paking lot. yes showers are on the hotel property, but you always have to walk there, or?
they are never directly next to the van
you have a water spigot next to the house.
food was great and as well the massage.
people very friendly and just btw. lot is gated so no reason to be afraid of the "bad" hondurian people ;)

Report Check-In

Same as described below, very nice (hot) showers and clean toilets. They initially asked for 350 lempiras for camping with two people, but when we said that people camped here before for 3.50USD/pp, they changed the price to exactly that.

Report Check-In

Ps next morning: thousand flies in the parking lot

Report Check-In

Not recommended anymore. Parking is now across the street in a parkinglot that is accessible to everyone. No shade, no electricity, wifi or water. You still pay $3.50 pppn. The garden looks nice, good toilets and showers.

Report Check-In

Big grassy area. No shade.
The camping area has a different entrance than the restaurant where the bathrooms and showers are.
Each entry has its separate gate.

costs:
3.50 US$ pp (no matter if you consume or rent a kayak)
facilities:
toilets, showers (warm water)

We didn't stay. We went to 'The Garden coffee' 550 metres away, where we could stay for free in there very nice garden with some cabañas and a cafe. Clean toilet.

Report Check-In

Nice and quiet place. You do not have to pay any consumption to park here. Gentle staff. Bathrooms are excellent but no showers. There are few shadows.
Another night we stayed in a place called beautiful garden (or something garden where are cabins but we parked our car and pay a consumption...is beautiful, full of trees and good wifi...to get there is easy: in front of ivo's cafe (that is in ioverlander at the end of the street of D&D), there is a sort of drugstore where is leo...he can guide you...or easier is to drive from D&D to ivo's cafe and there turn right and in 50 meters you will find it).
If you go for kayak we recommend looking for a man call avelino who is so kind that you will love him...and he let you rent the kayak for 100 lp and return it after sunset (most rentals ask you to return kayak at 5 pm during the week).
Go to lake yojoa, rest, kayak, contemplate. The place is peaceful and people warm.

Report Check-In

Brewery/Lodge are great! Good food, good beer. There's better places for overlanders though...

Report Check-In

Pretty nice brewery and parking lot for overlanders. Parking is a grassy spot but does the job, if you park near the house on the terrain you'll have shade after 12pm. Food and drinks at the brewery are a bit more expensive but tasty.

Report Check-In

This is a beautiful property as the brewery is surrounded by forest. The Overlanding is across the street, which is perfect for more privacy and ability to fit larger vehicles. Laundry is expensive but convenient. $8usd a load. We were here 3 nights and they keep your restaurant tab rolling and you pay everything at once upon checkout. The benefits of them being an actual hotel as well.

Report Check-In

Stayed in the parking lot with power and water near the building. Went for supper at the restaurant... Food was okay, Beer was flat and unimpressive.

Report Check-In

This place is in wrong location - it is located at 14.94586, -88.03796

Report Check-In

All camping in the big grassy field now. Some shade under a big tree. Electricity and water but, unfortunately, no toilet, shower or Wifi on this side of the road (at restaurant, 150m away). 3.5US$/person/night in a motorhome.
Food in the nearby restaurant is good, but beer is too bitter for us (IPA style).

Report Check-In

Wonderful place, you can camp on tents or vehicle or rent a room or cabin. We rented a cabin, but there is plenty space to park or sleep on a tent. Gets cold at night 60 to 70 degrees. Food is expensive but the town is nearby and you can find plenty of restaurants in the town and grocery stores.
Lindo lugar , puedes acampar o rentar cuartos o cabinas, nosotros rentamos cabinas. Hace frío en la noche . Tiene baños y un río allí mismo. La comida es cara pero el pueblo está cerca a 5 minutos. Allí puedes comprar comida

Report Check-In

great little paradise to relax. their tours are well run but double price. beer is good, food delicious, facilities clean. good place to socialize and play games. $3/pp per night is appropriate if you use the facilities a lot. the overland lot is huge and could fit a dozen rigs although the gate is a bit small.

if you just camp and have a few beers, very reasonable price.

Report Check-In

was very nice location with lots of things to do. camping in parking lot. hiking trails, kayaks, 15 dollar messages ( tbey were awesome, fure pit at night. Unfortunately it was pouring rain. would try there again if weather was better.

Report Check-In

Beautiful brewery and lodge. The owner is from Virginia and super welcoming. The staff are also fully bilingual and incredible. The beer is delicious from the perspective of being a brewery in the middle of Honduras. The food is good too, albeit a little on the expensive side. They also have their own coffee co-op and make delicious coffee. We had breakfast and dinner here and weren't asked to pay for parking overnight. They let us use the bathroom in the cabin in the parking lot as well since no guests were staying there. Definitely would come back and spend more time if we can.

Report Check-In

Muy buen estadía. El agua caliente ha sido muy necesario porque hizo frió durante nuestro tiempo aquí.

Report Check-In

Cabins, dorm, restaurant, toilet and shower are settled in the shade of jungle trees which make it fresher then the town and open fields.

Camping is on lot across the street which serves as parking for the guests. Camping situation itself was dissapointing but the big plus are the hot showers, nice and coolish area to chill in arondiak chairs and decent microbrew.

Enjoyed our stay here!

When we asked to camp for free when consuming food and beer we did get 10% off the total bill instead.

Report Check-In

We stayed here 5 nights for L85 per person. We parked by a tree so the solar panels got sun and we got shade to sit and cook our meals. We enjoyed our time here! Clean toilets, cold showers, good WiFi. We did not eat or drink much from the restaurant (took a Tuk Tuk to grocery store for supplies). We did some of the activities they offer (nature walk, kayaking, trip to Puhlapanzak) and had a lot of fun. Very attentive and nice staff. Good music, some outdoor games, and a fire each night. Recommended.

Report Check-In

Hasn’t been an update for a while so I’ll add our five cents for what’s it worth. Chaotic check in process with staff trying to serve the lunchtime rush in the bar/restaurant and check multiple guest in. Room wasn’t ready till half an hour after check in time. With one exception the staff really couldn’t be bothered. The craft beer is pretty average (We are not beer snobs) and tastes more like “kit” beer you’d brew at home, also very expensive. Shower in the room hadn’t been cleaned and was full of hair. No wifi in the rooms. Ordered dinner which took an hour to arrive and was cold and inedible. Looks like things have gone downhill here. Would not recommend or come back.

Report Check-In

You need to stop here. The service and the beer are both great. They offer laundry service and a good variety of tour suggestions, some free. We kayaked on beautiful Lake Yohoa. Bobby the owner is very personable and was very interesting to hear his perspective on running a business in Honduras. Evenings are the best with the fire pit warming you and the jungle sounds surrounding you. We loved it

Report Check-In

So glad we chose to stay here. The town has a safe and friendly vibe and the brewery serves fabulous food and drink at a decent price. As long as the wifi isn't saturated by too much internet traffic, it's lightning fast. It's a great place to hang out surrounded by tropical jungle. Bobby, the American owner, is very personable and relaxed. He also does a lot for the locals in the community. We paid 75L/pp per night.

Report Check-In

agree with all the good comments below. it was a great place for us to chill-out and do some routine maintenance on our truck. we stayed a week. breakfasts are excellent in the restaurant (amazing blueberry pancakes). really enjoyed the kayaking down to the lake. very busy and a bit noisy at the weekend with crowds of locals in the restaurant, but quieter mid-week.

Report Check-In

agree with all previous posts. great place to stay ! enjoyed so much the good beers and the nice garden. tons of stuff to do in the area. Rented some kayaks (but not with D&D brewery; was cheaper in front of the canal ; turn left when you reach the main road) ; visited the water falls and the Finca paradise on our own (you have a discount for both if you come from D&D brewery). Finca paradise has beautiful hikes in a we'll maintained garden/jungle/River .

Report Check-In

Definitely worth a stop at if you're in the area we would have stayed longer but we thought we'd just drink too much Beer. A random spot in a tiny town, but good energy and cool vibes. You park in a giant grassy lot across from the brewery safe and quiet. D&D offers tons of different tours and are really knowledgeable on the area, they love Honduras and want you to have the best expierence possible. 75L pp to camp and about 55L for a standard 12oz beer. If you're into hiking, kayaking and beer this is the spot! Also really near coffee shop down the road also marked on iOverlander! Cheers!

Report Check-In

Pagamos 3.5 dolares por persona, no nos pareció gran cosa, el estacionamiento para overlanders esta muy alejado de la zona de baños y duchas, es solamente un lugar donde estacionar. Estuvimos una sola noche.
We paid 3.5 dollars per person, we did not think much, the parking for overlanders is very far from the area of bathrooms and showers, it is only a place to park. We were only one night.

Report Check-In

Like many places we have loved on our travels we came for 2 nights and have so far stayed 5. Friendly staff and busy with daily visitors and backpackers. Great feel to this place.

Report Check-In

$3.50usd per person. Food. Drink. Laundry service. Hot showers. Huge parking area across the street but’s low wire was close to our to at 2.3 meters tall. Very peaceful as few people in parking area. Lots of backpackers pass through.

Report Check-In

Nice and spacious grassy area. We paid 3.5$ per person. It's a pitty there is no toilets or showers in the camping area (only near the restaurant). Fast wifi in the restaurant. The only plug is still on the side of the white house.

Report Check-In

Great place with an awesome vibe, lots of backpackers. room with shared bath is 12,5$ a night, very clean. food also very good and reasonably priced.

Report Check-In

A little Gem of a place not far off the main highway, Craft ales, firepit, restaurant, charged us half price for camping $1.50, privates from $12.00

Report Check-In

We stayed a couple nights. Very cheap camping at only 3.50 per person. Restaurant and beer is fairly priced although I didn't care too much for the beer. I love craft beer and this tasted more like when I'd brew my own. ok, but not great. Since the prices were appropriate I still had a couple each night. What can I say I'm starved for something other than a lager or pilsner. I thought the camping was good except the gates get locked and about 9pm I needed to use the bathroom and everything was already locked since a huge storm came in early. We were able to plug in with no extra charge. I did a big load of laundry with the sink too. Good stop all around.

Report Check-In

We had an excellent over night stay here. The food was excellent, and the night quiet (minus the crowing rooster)! Gate is a little tight, but we accessed it with our big rig no problem. No height restriction on gate. Beautiful grounds. As stated electric available with cord.

Report Check-In

Nice relax place. We paid 140 L for 2 and our camper. Free water, good wifi, great food and craft beers.

Report Check-In

Nice place... well organised... The tents are under trees now... parking limited to +- 4 cars in front of the place. Big overlanding place on the other side of the street. 3.50 still to camp... dorm start at 6,50...

Report Check-In

There is no longer a pool here. We camped in the big grassy and we're able to get a little shade from the trees. Wifi doesn't reach camping area, but we sat at the tables outside the restaurant.

Report Check-In

Had a very good stay here. Small double room with private bathroom and hot shower for 17.50USD. Restaurant and bar are great. Close to Pulhapanzak waterfall.

Report Check-In

Pull close to white house at the end of the grass lot (no one lives there, it's for guests to rent) and there is a plug for electricity and a tap for non drinking water. Food isn't cheap and I usually waited quite a while for it. Lots to do in the area. $3.50 per person

Report Check-In

Still a great place, still USD$3.5/night per person. Highly recommended.

Report Check-In

Are parked in grass lot across from D&D for USD $3.50 per night. No hook-ups but supposedly if pull in close to house can run extension cord. Can use hot showers and restrooms at Brewery. Great birding guide - Walter - so we extended our stay a full week. D&D can make all arrangements for site visits and activities around lake. Good restaurant. Locked security and safe. Gets busy on weekends.

Report Check-In

Rien a ajouter de plus. Nous nous sommes arêtes 2 fois a l aller et au retour d Utila. Le staff est au top, la bière aussi et les activités autour ne manquent pas. C est LE passage obligė des voyageurs!

Report Check-In

We went here for dinner and found it a really nice place. Beer is excellent (try the pale ale!) and we had the cena typica which was really nice and not expensive. Friendly staff and they organise a lot of tourist activities as well so can be good to explore the area.

Report Check-In

Camped right across D&D Brewery facilities on a big open grassy lot. $3.5 USD per person per night to camp. Gate to field were closed at night and the security guys were always near. We hang out and used the facilities at the brewery/hostel. Very friendly staff. Nice clean restrooms and showers. Pool, good wi-fi and good information about activities to do near by.

Report Check-In

We stayed in the grassy parking lot. Next to the house so that we can plug in. Nice pool, clean bathrooms, hot showers, food was ok. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice vibe. 3.5usd per person to camp. Fire pit in restaurant.

Report Check-In

Nice place with a lush jingle garden. fast wifi, clean bathroom and icy swimming pool! the grassy parking across the street is huge but no shade at all...it was very hot on the morning. If you park close of the house you can plug to electricity. large sink for dishes and laundry too. a lot of info of activities around and staff is very friendly. food was ok. paid L80 pp ($us3.5). very busy on week end

Report Check-In

Things have changed for overlanders with the opening of a new large grassy area where any size of rig will fit now. One of the best places to stay on the Panam, with excellent service and everything is priced right.

Report Check-In

3,5 usd pp for camping. children don't pay. good pool, showers and toilets. good wifi. good food

Report Check-In

we stayed in the new grassy area, park close to the small house to plug in, was nosy in the night (cars passing, and dogs barking)

Report Check-In

Nice place to stay. There is a fenced camping meadow just over the street. You can stay there and can youse the hot showers and the bathroom close to the restaurant. Really cheap to stay (camping cost 3.5 us$ per person). A lot of activities to do like kajaking, hiking or swimming.

Report Check-In

Still a great place to stay. Next week they will be opening a large grassy field right across the road with electric and water for campers. Not sure if that will increase the price.

Report Check-In

The best stay in Central America so far. Let us park our 24ft RV in front of brewery, totally safe, free water and such a great bar and restaurant. Clean toilets and showers, and no problem to use generator at night. Highly recommended.

Report Check-In

Secure parking, shared dorm for 6.50usd, camping for 3.50. Private room from 15. Good beer and good food. Pool and camp fire.

Report Check-In

Decidedly small space for camping. Basically a gravel lot. The rest of the brewery is great, but you can find much better places to camp down the road.

Report Check-In

Walked over from El Paradiso, nice walk for great beer. Both meals were mediocre. Good atmosphere.

Report Check-In

Great stopover for food and well, beer. We fit our Sprinter just perfectly in the small parking lot. Electricity from nearby building, pretty decent wifi and good company around the fire to share some stories.

Report Check-In

126L per vehicle. Excellent food beer and staff. Great place to while away a few days. Parking lot is tight so getting in and out can require a little shuffling.

Report Check-In

Parked next to JFDI, was a little tight and we're pretty tall, had to hold up the wires in front, but well worth it! Bob the owner is really nice and loves overlanders!

Report Check-In

We visited the restaurant while camping at Finca El Paraiso down the road. Come for the beer; the food isn't worth it.

Report Check-In

- 60 HNL per person
- campers stay in a tiny parking lot above the restaurant (fits about 3 small vans), not very nice place to be
- nice restaurant, pool, fire, good beer - better to hang out here than at the parking lot
- hot showers, flushing toilets, wifi
- we drove here from the crossing near Copan Ruinas in one day, it is easily managable (took about 4-5 hours)

Report Check-In

Great little haven of good food and beer amid the Honduran jungle. Small space for vehicles, larger vehicles wouldn't fit. Also has camping sites for tents, dorms, and cabins. Clean bathrooms, hot showers, decent wifi.

Price: 120L ($6)/night.

Report Check-In

D&D Brew is a guesthouse run by an american, and he brew his own beer which is for sale in his bar. Room for a small camper or two in their parking lot, and you can use the guesthouse facilities.

Price: 100 Lempiras

Report Check-In

A place for people who are looking forward to a fresh draft beer and nice greasy fast food. The parking lot is very narrow and we had to share the tiny parking lot with several cars. If you want to stay outside of the car this is only possible at the restaurant of the small resort. Clean toilets and hot showers. Small swimming pool. Free WIFI.
