Latest Check-Ins

When we arrived we were warmly welcomed by Michael and his family. The hacienda is beautifully landscaped and you feel like you are in paradise. A very nice German couple lives in one of the cabanas.
We were able to use a motel room for the shower and toilet, which had hot water. On the campsite itself there is also a separate shower and a toilet block with a water connection. Just ask. Fast WiFi is available. There is also a pool and a large children's playground.
You can sleep very well at night because it is very quiet. If the music is too loud during the day and is disturbing, speak to the employees personally. They are all friendly and accommodating.
If your health is poor, you can get medical advice from Veronica, Michael's wife is a doctor.
Shops and restaurants are within walking distance. The center of Xalapa is about 17 km away, for larger purchases or Coatepec 6 km.
If you have any questions or problems, Michael is always available to help and advise.
We stayed here for 3 weeks on our first visit and stayed for 1 week the second time. We will definitely come back because we only met lovely people and felt very comfortable.

Good: A lot of shade for the tent.
They allow you to use one of the motel room's bathroom for all your needs.
There's free fast internet and AC at the tent's feet. The hotel is very interesting, in an Eduard James-Xilitla kind of way. Very friendly personnel.
Cellular provider Telcel works normal.
There are stores 200 metres away for your shopping needs.
Bad: $350 pesos a night for camping for one person with a van is highway robbery (though this seem to be the standard for "Pueblos Mágicos")
AC is irregular, there isn't anywhere you can wash clothes or a rag. The only source of any water is the bathroom.
Every employee has a radio or battery speaker blasting Mexican music all day long.
The camping spot is in the same area of the "Taller" which is a spot where they will be hammering, grinding and soldering metal constantly.
All in all, as far as the personnel goes, they don't seem to be interested in you being comfortable, happy or relaxed at all. They just do their job.

We only stayed one night, 300pesos for two people, truck and dog. Bathrooms super clean but we didn't use the showers. The property is amazing! We were able to walk and find all the little secrets areas in the morning, but be careful, it's super slippery after rainfall!

Report Check-In

This is a very special place between Coatepec, Xico and Teocelo, all worth to visit. Huge Hotel and surrounding built in special style with great Infrastructure (good WC and Shower). Great Nature. We stayed 6 nights. Michael the German from Nürnberg (not Munich) is very kind
and helpful in anything. Really exceptionel to visit this place.

Report Check-In

Just came back for another stay as it is a really great place for every kind of traveller: from backpacker to big rigs. The owner (who's name is Michael by the way) is really friendly and helpful. As others have said already, he is originally from Germany but has lived here in Mexico for more than 40 years now. So he can offer good tips not only for this region but for the rest of Mexico as well. I could store my motorcycle here for a few months last year when I had to go back to Germany and when I came back he also helped me with the communication with customs regarding my TIP. So overall highly recommended!

Now 350 pesos for two people in a van.
Matthias is very friendly and helpful and the place is pretty and well maintained.

Report Check-In

great calm place. really unusual as others have described, looks like it was it's own small City, buildings for everything.

200mxn for just me in a rtt, very costly imo but they are the only place near Xalapa or Coatapec open now so no choice. good hot water, mediocre wifi, good cell coverage. it was 50 extra for power, I just used my solar.

Report Check-In

We paid 250 pesos for the two of us. Really awesome place. Quiet, tranquil. Electricity sockets if you Park in the right place near the back gate. 3 minute hot water shower. And very professional and friendly staff.

Report Check-In

Beautiful and quiet place, lots of vegetation, 10 min drive (taxi) to Xico center. Paid 300 peso’s for 2 persons to sleep in our van for 1 night, access to a hotel room to use shower and toilet, really clean, felt really safe.

Really interesting and bizarre place. well worth a visit. old estate resort complex that was deserted when we arrived. after a snoop around we found someone who let us in the gates to a grassy area to camp with the RTT. we were given access to a room for toilet and shower for 350 peso. no power available, but we do not need it. Really interesting gardens full of bananas coffee and flowers along with built pyramids, worship roo.s and other structures. it is still used as a hotel resort, however we were the only ones there. very cool place.

Report Check-In

Nice, quiet place with friendly staff. It was interesting to explore the large premises and talk with Michael and his wife Veronica. Paid MEX$ 250 for two people dry camping in a small rig (sólo estacionamiento, no luz (they allowed us to plug in a car battery charger as there was not enough light on our solar panels), no regaderas (an extra MEX$ 50 for a hot shower in a hotel room)).

Report Check-In

we've been here for just one night. we are Germans and we where happy to meet anybody who speak a little bit German. the receptionist spokes little German to us, was nice and feels a little bit home. in the evening the owner( a German too) comes by to say hello. nice guy. he gave us some advices. the site. itself - was totally confused and a little dirty. We asked for showers - the answer was you have to book it, sorry we already paid 250 pesos for just staying there and mow I have to pay for showers extra, sorry no. we was a bit upset, but anyway. as a traveller you must be cool..

Report Check-In

We stayed there for two nights. Michael, the owner, and Elisabeth and Veronika are German speaking, too. Breakfast and dinner were very good, everybody was very friendly. Michael spend much time for us and explained the complete production of coffee by a tour through the large area. Amazing.

What everyone else said. The German owner and his sister-in-law speak a tiny bit of English. Easy to catch a bus or taxi to Xico or Coatepec, both are Pueblos Mágicos and really fun to explore. Electricity at sites with an extension cord. We got electric plus a hotel room to use for showering and the bathroom in general for $350 / night. Great place, fast wifi, good cell connectivity.

this spot is a gem, it's an old Hacienda with gorgeous gardens, a tiny church, a modern poktapok court, a cafe and amazing friendly owners. there is a toilet near the camping area at the back and a nice garden where you can sit and read. the showers are available in a hotel room. there is WiFi available at the camping area. the town of xico is lovely and is 10pesos by colectivo. I recommend talking to the owners (German or spanish) about the history of the property - it's very amazing! as others said it's not cheap but it's worth it for the lovely spot.
