Beautiful campground with lots of friendly goats. My children loved it! Just beware, one mama goat wanted to attack our 30 lb dog.

We were able to hook up to electricity and water. Plus they have bathrooms and showers. I would recommend this place to everyone. It's definitely worth a visit at least!

What a fun stay! There are a handful of RV sites (first come first serve) on land, but if you go into the island, there is one “site” that is great for a pop up camper. There’s electric hook up and water at that site, and some of the cleanest/most well-maintained bathrooms we’ve seen. All around the island are concrete picnic tables and porch swings looking over the water. There’s a nice pavilion, a small playground, and about 40 goats that live on the island. And of course, there’s the remnants of the “Big Fish” movie set, which was neat to walk around. We stayed here one night and basically had the island to ourselves. Other than the train that goes right nearby and whistles, it was a peaceful night! $15 per night per person, call at the gate for a code and then pay the honor box. The camp hosts did come around a couple of times.

Arrived to the campground around 8:30pm and called the number posted. They won’t allow any new campers after sundown. Camping costs 15 per person.

We are both big fans of the movie and when we found out you could camp here too it became a must stop. $30 for camping here even with hot showers is a little much in our opinion.

Would suggest coming for Specter, but staying for the goats.

Huge huge fan of the movie Big Fish so I was looking forward to staying here. Unfortunately i was told on the phone that there is ABSOLUTELY nobody allowed inside the gate after 7pm (strict new policy) even if i paid prior to my late arrival. The guy i spoke with also informed me that even if I sleep in my camper, everyone is REQUIRED to set up a tent. Regardless, we did not get to enjoy this campground. Beware of the strict enforced policies and rude phone operators.

This place is awesome. $10 pay at the gate and then you call a number to get the gate code. Super pretty. Cute goats. Fire rings. One rest room that I saw with two stalls and a shower. I’m going to go the legacy museum tomorrow and of course it’s a super historical drive from Selma to Montgomery. Highly recommend.
