Latest Check-Ins

La Perla is a beautiful and secluded campground next to Requescion campground and reached via a dirt road from that campground. The elderly lady, Rosa, lives in the blue nearby house and collects 250 pesos per night. Large motor homes can carefully navigate the dirt road into La Perla. Vendors come by daily selling all kinds food items. There are trash cans, and pit toilets that should be for emergency use only.

Report Check-In

Crowded today. A nice old lady came around and asked for 250 pesos for the night. She lives in the little blue house there. No amenities, the pit toilet is strictly for an emergency! The water had bioluminescents. Awesome!

Came here on our way to requesón but saw that it was crowded and decided to follow the road to the right towards Perla. The road was very easy to drive with 2wd. Five palapas on a sandy beach with pit toilets. There was only one other campsite taken so it felt very private. We arrived around 1pm and left around 11am the next day and no one came by to charge us. A few vendors came by selling ceviche and kayak rentals but other than that it felt pretty secluded. 3 bars Telcel service.

We spent three nights here, it is lovely, quiet place. It has 5 palapas and pit toilets. Every morning, locals would come by to sell fish, shrimp, and other goods. We had the opportunity to go snorkeling and saw some small colorful fish. There were also a lot of pelicans fishing, especially in the early mornings.

The old lady asked for $200 for the night, probably because we were staying for three nights. When other campers arrived, they were asked to pay $250 for one night. Be cautious of other people asking for money for camping. We were asked to pay three times by three different people who completely refused to listen when we explained that we had already paid the old lady.

Joli petit camping comparativement aux autres plus grands. Dans une petite baie avec des pélican qui plongent toute la journée. Très tranquille même un 25 décembre. Nous sommes restés trois nuits. Magnifique!

Report Check-In

Spent one night here enjoying the peace away from the crowds of Requeson, Coyote, & Santispec. We were alone for the afternoon until a caravan of other sprinters arrived after dark. A gentleman came by in the afternoon & collected the fee ($250 pesos). Extremely windy night & next morning made it hard for paddleboarding or snorkeling but it was still nice to sit on the beach & watch the pelicans fishing.

Report Check-In

Nice spot. Someone will come by to pick up the fee. Locals will also drive by to sell fish, shrimp, goods, etc. easy to get to in a 2wd. No cell service for us, but Starlink worked well. It was empty where as all other beach spots were packed.

one of my favorite places on the gulf of California. The old lady now wants 250 pesos per night for a Palapa site. T-mobile signal intermittent, but usable. last year I had no signal on my S10+, this year a S21+ is picking up a variable number of bars. wife's iPhone 12 pro no bars

Report Check-In

A nice spot with good access to the beach. Very busy but we ended up with good company and had good time being there. Felt very safe as a campground. No palapa (all taken) to park the van_200 pesos. Pit toilets.

Report Check-In

Stayed here one night on my way to Loreto. Only one palapa left when I rolled in a little after sunset. The old lady came around in the morning. She now wants 200mx per night. There are garbage cans and they aren't overflowing. The palapa I snagged happened to be my favorite one, but I must admit it is a bit more dilapidated than it was when I last visited in 2018.

Report Check-In

Very quiet, only 5 remaining palapas. Two other vehicles were there at the same time. Doesn't look like there is a caretaker anymore, the building is locked and missing part of the roof and no one came to collect payment. There is a dog and cat around that we left food and water for as no one came during our two day stay and they seem to be staying at the building without food or water. One outhouse still usable but not the other two. If you don't mind being away from the sand beach there are some nice spots further along without the heaps of garbage. Recommend packing out your garage, there are cans but based on the mess it isn't collected. It is a nice quiet spot compared to El Requeson but needs some TLC. Can walk to El Requeson.

Stopped by for a place to have lunch and take a dip on a scorching hot day. We camped here a year ago and wanted to see how it looked post hurricane Kay. So, I don’t think the old gal is around anymore. The little shack she stayed in is leveled. Maybe from before Kay. Doesn’t look like anyone has been around and nobody has bothered to straighten up after the storm. Maybe in the Fall someone will come set up shop and ask for pesos. Looks like you could still camp here but looks a little messy compared to the other spots. We didn’t have to engage 4x4 to get there. High clearance is always a good idea out here though.

Report Check-In

Well yes… it’s a little beaten down by those who do not care for private spots… bit of beer cans and trash.

We are grabbing a few that are not ours so that we leave it a bit better off!

And, it’s Mexico!

It’s a free stay at a shaded palapa with a perfect serene beach to soak, paddle, and snorkel in.

Need more? Go pay for a full hook up off the beach.

We saw sting Ray, sea turtles, manta ray, etc.

Awesome spot that is accessible with a 4x4

The water is like glass in the early morning before the sun

Much quieter than Requisition or Santispec! off the road, beautiful small bay with good snorkel/paddle. Easy to walk to Requstion and island. Paid.$150/ nite. There was a huge trailer in there, A class, 32 ft +, no prob. Last papalypa smelled like pee, so maybe pick another?

Report Check-In

Traveling with 24’ RV trailer, and what a wonderful find. Backed beside a palapa and spent two great days. Beautiful small cove. Fishermen out each day. Scallops the size of silver-dollars. Info on cost, etc per entries above. There was a multi-family group and felt like being in a commune.

Report Check-In

All is good at Perla. The palapas are in great shape. Much less busy with day trippers then Requeson next door. Bathrooms not the best but they were putting up some new structures today, which seems promising. Rosa runs the place. It is now 200mx/night.

Report Check-In

Place looks run down with trash everywhere between the trees on the right. Toilet shacks totally falling apart, so not really sure what you are paying for (can't be either the recycling or toilets). The water looks nice, but had some red algea at the time.

The "half-moon" shaped beach described earlier is also not exactly special. We had much better places during our month on the Baja so far, so decided to drive further south.

Report Check-In

Stayed here 4 nights. toilets are in sad shape with no door any more and sagging to one side, propped up with a 2x4. The caretaker didn't speak any English and when I held up four fingers and said quadro noches, it seemed like she was having a hard time calculating the fee for four nights. I showed her 600 pesos and she smiled and accepted that.

very quiet days, excellent kayaking in the mornings with big north winds typically by noon. We saw and paddled with a whale shark on the last day when the winds held off.

A couple of families arrived as we were packing up for Samana Santa -- El Requeson nearby had already filled up with dozens of tents, Mexican pop music and even charter bus service from Mulege.

Report Check-In

Easy to find. Follow the sign for El Requeson and you'll see a sign for La Perla farther down. Nice road for any rig. Park at Requeson and walk it (200m) if in doubt.
This area of beaches is way less crowdy than 15km north.
Some garbage around. Pit toilets are sketch, but usable. Old lady is still taking care of it.
Cute little and photogenic beach. What makes it different from the others is its size and its half moon shape that you can capture. It's like being part of the beach instead of on the beach.
$150mxp per vehicle, with palapa.

Report Check-In

we stopped at a few spots on the way down the bay and most were very crowded. all the palapas here were taken so we continued South and found many other spots with no services but some fire rings. We stayed in one of these and no one came asking for money by 10 AM when we left. not sure if they are part of La Perla or not. A lot of hwy noise from the trucks engine breaks and accelerating but since wind was blowing the waves mostly drowned out that noise.

Report Check-In

Beautiful small bay, perfect for floating. Weathered palapas, pit toilets, some with privacy curtains, others not.
We actually stayed at El Requeson next door but walked into this campground to check it out. No one there.

Report Check-In

Cute little beach with six palapas. Very small waves so perfect for kids. Watch out for small stingrays near the rocks (they were quite timid and swam away when we got close so probably not a huge problem).

Report Check-In

Stayed here 2 night tent camp with my dog in one of the palapas. Yes they are dilapidated but do serve the purpose of keeping the wind out esp. at night. Nothing spectacular about this beach other than being quiet and clean. Different vendors do come around with sourvenirs and drinks. The little old lady who runs the property is nice especially if you speak Spanish.

Report Check-In

Just south of El Cojote, same access. 6 Palapas, very basic pittoilet, no other facilities. Accessroad short but rough and narrow, less crowded than Cojote. 100 M$
