Description

Fantastic campsite, off the road with unique views & nice camping spots under trees and in between the massive rocks. Cozy communal gazebo & good ablutions. Emma, who runs the place, is really helpful & friendly. Highly recommend a stop-over here!

The guard will let you stay one night for a $10 tip.

Report Check-In

Place has closed down for renovations.
Didn't look like they will be finished soon.

Camping might have been possible but you would have had to call the owner first, no cell reception for me.

Really enjoyed this quiet, beautiful place between the rocks with views over the valley. Lovely short walks to rock paintings, ruens and a view point. Showers were hot and pressure good. Yes, little run down, but still worth the stay. We stayed 3 nights. Innocent (Emma is not working here anymore) was at the camp and very helpfull and friendly, also guided us on the walk. Camping 10$pppn

Nice surroundings and campsites. The property itself looks good but the rest is a bit rundown. No electricity and lights in the communal sitting area. Ablutions are old and rundown, not clean when we were there. Shower is hot though and nice. No toiletpaper or soap. $10 pppn.

Report Check-In

All as mentioned before but water is non potable. They offer to fill a can with water from a borehole.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

We spent 2 nights, and cannot give any criticism. Innocence is the caretaker, he was very helpful. As we were the only campers we camped right in front of gazebo (lapa). Beautiful campsite with plenty of camping spots, some with newly planted lawn. Well kept camping grounds. Stunning breathtaking views!

Loved this campsite! Situated amongst the rocks and boulders with great views over the Eastern Highlands. Flat pitches, electricity, powerful, hot showers and the most amazing fireplace in a large shelter with chairs and lightening. Perfect for cooking on, relaxing and playing cards around the roaring fire in the chilly evenings. our camp manager Simba was extremely helpful and we had hot water day and night, plus he led us on a 5 hour hike over 4 of the peaks . Absolute silence at night 10USD pppn

Beautiful campsite between the rocks. Only a few campsites are suitable for cars/campers. With one campsite having a view into the valley (can fit a few cars there though). Nice shelter with fire place. Hot showers and at the ladies even a bathtub. Though it wasn't really clean when we were there and the place felt a bit neglected. Still worth the stay! Beautiful view from the viewpoint up the hill. And the small hike (1-1.5 hour return) towards the viewpoint and paintings was worthwhile, especially for the views.

Beautiful campsite, bigger than we first expected it to be. we spent one morning visiting the paintings, beautiful walks down to the rocks. breath taking views.

Coming from Mozambique this place is heaven: fresh weather, zero mosquitos, beautiful mountain views (mostly from the viewpoints, deck or climbing the rocks). Campsite itself is also nice, cozy and well taken care of but many don't have a view. There's a common lounge area with sofas and a fireplace, a spot for dish and laundry washing, hot showers heat by fire and flush toilets. Hiking trails to see rock paintings starting from campsite and beautiful scenery. Internet with Econet works only from the upper campsites. They provide drinking water from neighbors borehole but apparently their tap water is not potable. Firewood is 5 USD which is expensive compared to the ones being sold on the way here for 2 USD per bundle. Camping is 10 USD ppn.

We did not stay but viewed the site, a beautiful place amongst the rocks. They have a couple of sites suitable for big rigs. Not pet friendly as they have their own dogs who live on the premises.
